"You don't want to do that conversion right now. ^^" - Atia. So Fulgrim's the next, with AoS Slaanesh in January 2019

Thebiggesthat on Dakka Dakka said Fulgrim and Keeper of Secrets end of the year 2018, so maybe even sooner !

(This guy was right about GUO, new beast and blight lord)

There was a Thread on Bolter and Chainsword were someone asked for the size of Morathi, as he planned on turning her into a Fulgrim model.
Atia just answered that he should start that project right now.

Right ! I always forgot to check Battle Bunny and B&C instead of War of Sigmar when looking for Lady Atia's posts :/ I miss her full rumors days haha

So that'd make, after Nighthaunt and Stormcast Wizard / Artillery this summer, Slaanesh end 2018. Noïce.

Well if battletome Malignants is next, just wanted to say that I called it 2 months ago!!! (Though this may  be a little early for gloating).

Very curious to see how many kits they get. A dual build troop choice which will look exactly like that Shadespire card, a multibuild black coach kit and .....? One more kit would put them in line with daughters of Khaine, sylvaneth etc.

And a new monster / hero like the soul-stealing Ghast described here : https://malignportents.com/story/lightning-in-a-bottle/ Maybe ;)

P.-S. ; I think what @LLV meant was a new Nighthaunt Battletome, Malignant being only the "race" keyword.

The hanged Dementor probably will be a special version of the "fleshy" cairn wraith, think of it more in the lines of the Shadespire Skeletons then a hint for a new additional unit.

And concerning the Stater Set you repeatedly mention: don't think of the two shown cards as indicators for a new AoS Starter Box, but only as hints for Shadespire. It is quite possible that someone saw the new Shadespire Season Opener Box and thought of it as a new AoS Starter. The correlation between Shadespire S1 and the Starter Box does not mean that each SSP Season Box (if there will be one each time) will match a new AoS Starter. the S1 Box had SE and Khorne in ti, simply because both are the poster boys respectively the starring villains during the time S1 came out. It was a marketing decision, nothing more.

Yeah ! I have no inside info of course, it's just (educated?) guesses based on what we already have, that is :

     - As you rightly said, each Shadespire warband is linked to an existing baseline unit (Liberator, Skeletons Warriors, etc.). So the Wraiths / Dementor must be a new baseline unit (?) for Nighthaunt.

    - Regarding the 8 existing war bands, 3 are form Starter set units, so the poster boys. But with MP, the new logo, etc. I'm sure the new poster-bad-boy will be Death, hence why Nighthaunt may be as rumored in the new starter set. If indeed we get a new "true" starter set (≠ Forgebane or Blightwar).

    - That's why I think will get 1. one multi-build Dementor / fleshy arms wraiths kit, 2. one Shadespire warband based on them (as GW released an Easy to build kit form Primaris / Death guard with Dark imperium with different sculpt), and 3. one Dementor / fleshy arms wraiths "push-fit" kit, if indeed the new Starter set comes with a dedicated sculpts (≠ Forgebane or Blightwar).

I think there was a warhammer tv video where one of the guys accidentally let slip about Slaanesh being soonish. Plus that Khorne rumour may well be nonsense.

I also think Lady Atia said Slaanesh before Khorne, but I cannot find where.

There is a rumor on Dakka Dakka about the new Keeper Of Secrets (plastic) being due for November (he of course won't be released alone), by the guy that teased the new GUO in summer 2017.

Not guessing the battletome is coming with a new black coach and new unit that can be seen in the knight of shrouds artwork. Also coming is the AoS version of the old warhammer battle magic which will add a new dimension to magic in AoS games

I'm sure pic related will be a new "troops" type for the Nighthaunt army, maybe dual built, one like cairn wraith with "fleshy" army, one hanged Dementor ...

We'll probably get a new plastic kit, a Shadespire warband, and maybe a unique unit for the starter set

Looking at that video I count.

    Foot guys (dual build?)

    Archers (dual build?)

    Eels (dual build!)

Big eels with two riders (dual build?)

    Big turtle (4 builds apparently)

Big water cloak guy (dual build apparently )

    Sea horse guy

    Big helmet pilot light guy

    Octopus bodyguard lady

    Jumping lady

    Bald staff guy.

    Scenery.

That is eleven kits so far. GW have confirmed there is more we haven't seen yet.

Guess that 8 kit rumour was false. What an amazing release. This will be the army I spend the next two years building and painting for sure.

Yeah ! And each unit are apparently multiple build ; I count 3 eels types, 2 sharks types, and there will be apparently 4 turtles types too...

I love them. I totally love them.

I would be shocked, impressed, and disappointed if it was only a Shadespire warband and not a full chamber release

Remember how the first WHU core set mirrored the first Starter set in terms of content ?

I'm sure the two new WHU war bands (that is, Ghosts and new SCE) will be of the same factions of the two new armies in the new Starter set.

    GREAT

  8. OKAY OMG

    - Idoneth Deepkin : awesome. Huge range. Like, really huge. I just need to see the Battletome cover <3

    - Spiky death magic sphere and Storm Of Magic second edition : nice and unexpected !

    - Death rise : f*ck yeah, new nighthaunt black coach, so as rumored : new Nighthaunt* army + Battletome !

    - New Warhammer Underworlds : so good to know, I love those war bands ....

AND LOOKING AT THE CARD :

    - NEW STORMCAST WIZARDS UNIT

    - NEW NIGHTHAUNT GHOST

---> Starter set CONFIRMED ; and the next Shadespire (or the like) set will apparently have those two new factions.

    1) Not only safe bet but certainty: Deepkin reveal with miniatures (not certain though if exhibition of the whole range)

    2) New starter set announcement and content tease. I don’t think there will be a real reveal of content

    3) WH: UW 2 announcement, no reveal of content

    100% agree.

I litterlay set my clock at 1:30 PM just for that.

From the Las Vegas Open they said they would reveal 3 ou 5 big things ?

Because there is 40k in the ring too, which means something big too for it, like a new army or a Daemon Primarch.

My only beef with the new geographic homelands of factions in the new world is that they seem too safe. A good setting should have constant threats from enemy factions based in the same geographic setting (e.g. goblins/dwarfs/skaven in mountains).

These underwater elfs just own the entire seabed? The Kharadrons have no sky-based enemy factions? No other lava-dwelling factions for the lava-dwarfs? Does ANYTHING live in the woods anymore?

    ???

Nowhere it is said that about the ID. They'll surely fight Plague fleet like Gutrot Spume's one, for example.

The Kharadron avec huuuuge hordes of beasts in the sky against them, it's every page of their Battletome. Plus flying daemons, like Tzeentch ones. And the fleet of the GROTbag scuttlers.

The Fyreslayers are attacked by fire elemental and skavens, like, every day, and besieged by Bloodbound and such.

The lands, seas and skies of the Mortal Reams are wayyyyy less safe than even a Death world of the imperium.

Some how I had missed that the deepkin were out of Ghur, I thought they were in the shadow realm too. Or are they from the shadow realm and these one are visiting Ghur? Or maybe there's no misdirect and we're getting an underwater troggoth faction too.

The rumor is that the Deepkin comes form the sunken Island of Idoneth in Hyish.

But then they were sighted in Ghyran (cf. DoK Battletome) and in Ghur (according to the FB teasing at least).

It's safe to bet they'll have, like every other armies, access to Realmgates (maybe linked to mists and water)

  12. I'm still really not sure about Mathlann / Manaan / Aislinn influences on the Idoneth.

The original rumor also mentioned Tyrion & Teclis weren't involved with the Deepkin, but then we learn that they are in fact Teclis failed creation.

Just like Daughter Of Khaine are in fact Daughter of

    Spoiler

Morathi, because Khaine is truly dead following the End Times

EDIT : I find the Shadespire "add variation to battleline / base units" concept really great, notably for the Blood Warriors and SCE Rangers !!

  13. Repost from Dakka Dakka if anyone still have hopes for GAMA news ;)

    ***

There is two GW "seminars" today Wednesday, at 9AM and 11AM (so 17:00 and 19:00 in Europe). @Chikout noted that it seems to be "how to business" seminars, not preview seminars.

But they could still shows new boxed game via the event in the Exhibit hall, which opens at 1PM today (so 21:00 in Europe). Same thing tomorrow (same time).

Anyway, GW's preview seminar at Adpeticon is Wednesday March 21, so in exactly 7 days, at 8PM (so around 02:00 in the morning in Europe) :P

Well the mercenary aspect is already sort of there with the grand alliance and ally mechanisms. It would sound bit strange if Chaos, Orcs or the Undead would hire mercenaries. Especially dwarf or elf mercenaries.

Yes indeed, but in the fluff many faction are mercenary : Fyrelsayers allied with Chaos against Free Guild, Beastclaw Raiders allied with Chaos to serve Archaon, etc.

Such configuration is not possible in the rules so far.

But it's already determined that Idoneth are Order, so no worries.

  15. 22 minutes ago, Imperial said:

We allready have cross GA model in game now. Aleguzzler Gargant same model and rules in chaos and destruction

Yeah but there is no mechanism to by pass the Destruction or Chaos keywords.

It's just 2 different units, in 2 different GA, with the same rules.

  16. 1 hour ago, Bloodmaster said:

As @DantePQ and @RuneBrush said, highly unlikely and at least from a rule perspective not an unproblematic thing - although doable, but nothing I see GW pulling off. From a Fluffpoint it might be interesting though - but again, GW employes strict limitations on the GA - If you like living in more than huts and liek at least a little structure in your lifa and unlive isn't for you, you are Order, no matter how many guys and gals you slay in your freetime just for the pleasure of taking lives or if you ride gaint land-sharktopusses as a sparetime activity

Agree, and IMO if cross-Grand Alliances rules come to be (like Dogs of War), it will be via the General's Handbook, (probably) not in a Battletome..

That’s true. Unfortunately, if the rumour of AoS 2 ends up being true, the next arc will be new Stormcast v. new Death. So Slaanesh would be mid 2019 at the earliest.

Well ! For now the arc is already SCE vs Death (in fact, everybody vs Death) with Malign Portents - also remember one of the rumor regarding the new Starter set has Death vs Aelves.

We switched from Chaos main enemy to Death main enemy.

What could happened next, i.e. in 2019 (based on hints in the existing fluff and novels) is in terms of Post-Realmgate Wars narrative :

    1. More established Cities of Order (so Stormkeeps scenery, more SCE, maybe in the new starter set).

    2. The Fate of Slaanesh (Tyrion, Teclis, Slaanesh mortal and daemons, maybe Skaven Eshin - linked to Ulgu and to the fate of Slaanesh in the RGW fluff)

    3. A big Skavens uprising (there is lots of snippets in the fluff about it since the RGW and still in MP, notably an alliance of Pestilens and Masterclan forces in Blight City and the Great Horned Rat's plan).

    (4. Maybe a big Waaagh).

To me, when we'll get to the "Fate of Slaanesh", it will be a huge event for the setting, but Slaanesh won't replace Nagash as the main villain (the way Nagash seems to replace Archaon for now), it will just mean, probably, a campaign book for Ulgu (as MP is for Shyish, it even has its rune on the side cover, hinting maybe at more "Realm-books") and new factions.

(And if the Skavens invades the Realms, they will have fluff legitimation (both numbers and gnawholes) to attack everyone, even other Chaos, everywhere, so that could be another big narrative arc involving all the factions, idem to a big Waaagh).

  18. 10 minutes ago, Turgol said:

I am  far more interested in both the Shadowkin and Light Aelfs. Not only because of their design concept, but also because both would be main players, while the Deepkin will be side-players just like the DoK, Kharadron, etc.

But I resisted buying DoK only because I know Deepkin are coming soon. I do not think I will be able to resist Deepkin based on the expectation of Shadow/Lightkin in a year or two!

I thought it was strange that Aelves - known to be linked to the Fate of Slaanesh, (so a big event surely meaning Slaanesh and Aelves releases) - would come during Malign Portents, an already big enough event !

But in fact, we have indeed more or less "side player"s in the form of Morathi and of the Idoneth Deepkin (at least side-players in the Fate of Slaanesh, even with Morathi's implication in the capture of the Prince of Chaos, not necessarily on the wider fight against Nagash and Chaos).

This way, GW releases some Aelves (people were asking for that since long) while keeping future Aelves releases for the Slaanesh narrative arc.

I don’t care about 40k, so my predictions only for AoS:

-Gamma: Idoneth and two shadespire bands.

-Adepticon: second starter set, WH Underworlds season 2

    That. Would. Be. Amazing.

    But ...

I think that there won't be so many news - and that a good  part of it will be for 40k (based on the past reveals anyway).

New Codexes and Boxed games aside (both stand alone and Specialist games like Necro or WHU), maybe we'll see a new 40k model line (that could be Knights, or something Chaos like World Eaters or Emperor's Children), and maybe a new Campaign set / a new Primarch coming this summer.

That means for AOS we "just" have the expectation of an (already named) new army (the Idoneth Deepkin), and maybe some future Battletomes / factions news (Moonclan Grot, Darkoath, Stormcast Ruination Chamber, etc.).

And alas I think, even if it comes in June, that March is too early for a Second edition stater set reveal...
