  1. Repost from Dakka Dakka if anyone still have hopes for GAMA news ;)

    ***

There is two GW "seminars" today Wednesday, at 9AM and 11AM (so 17:00 and 19:00 in Europe). @Chikout noted that it seems to be "how to business" seminars, not preview seminars.

But they could still shows new boxed game via the event in the Exhibit hall, which opens at 1PM today (so 21:00 in Europe). Same thing tomorrow (same time).

Anyway, GW's preview seminar at Adpeticon is Wednesday March 21, so in exactly 7 days, at 8PM (so around 02:00 in the morning in Europe) :P

Well the mercenary aspect is already sort of there with the grand alliance and ally mechanisms. It would sound bit strange if Chaos, Orcs or the Undead would hire mercenaries. Especially dwarf or elf mercenaries.

Yes indeed, but in the fluff many faction are mercenary : Fyrelsayers allied with Chaos against Free Guild, Beastclaw Raiders allied with Chaos to serve Archaon, etc.

Such configuration is not possible in the rules so far.

But it's already determined that Idoneth are Order, so no worries.

We allready have cross GA model in game now. Aleguzzler Gargant same model and rules in chaos and destruction

Yeah but there is no mechanism to by pass the Destruction or Chaos keywords.

It's just 2 different units, in 2 different GA, with the same rules.

As @DantePQ and @RuneBrush said, highly unlikely and at least from a rule perspective not an unproblematic thing - although doable, but nothing I see GW pulling off. From a Fluffpoint it might be interesting though - but again, GW employes strict limitations on the GA - If you like living in more than huts and liek at least a little structure in your lifa and unlive isn't for you, you are Order, no matter how many guys and gals you slay in your freetime just for the pleasure of taking lives or if you ride gaint land-sharktopusses as a sparetime activity

Agree, and IMO if cross-Grand Alliances rules come to be (like Dogs of War), it will be via the General's Handbook, (probably) not in a Battletome..

That’s true. Unfortunately, if the rumour of AoS 2 ends up being true, the next arc will be new Stormcast v. new Death. So Slaanesh would be mid 2019 at the earliest.

Well ! For now the arc is already SCE vs Death (in fact, everybody vs Death) with Malign Portents - also remember one of the rumor regarding the new Starter set has Death vs Aelves.

We switched from Chaos main enemy to Death main enemy.

What could happened next, i.e. in 2019 (based on hints in the existing fluff and novels) is in terms of Post-Realmgate Wars narrative :

    1. More established Cities of Order (so Stormkeeps scenery, more SCE, maybe in the new starter set).

    2. The Fate of Slaanesh (Tyrion, Teclis, Slaanesh mortal and daemons, maybe Skaven Eshin - linked to Ulgu and to the fate of Slaanesh in the RGW fluff)

    3. A big Skavens uprising (there is lots of snippets in the fluff about it since the RGW and still in MP, notably an alliance of Pestilens and Masterclan forces in Blight City and the Great Horned Rat's plan).

    (4. Maybe a big Waaagh).

To me, when we'll get to the "Fate of Slaanesh", it will be a huge event for the setting, but Slaanesh won't replace Nagash as the main villain (the way Nagash seems to replace Archaon for now), it will just mean, probably, a campaign book for Ulgu (as MP is for Shyish, it even has its rune on the side cover, hinting maybe at more "Realm-books") and new factions.

(And if the Skavens invades the Realms, they will have fluff legitimation (both numbers and gnawholes) to attack everyone, even other Chaos, everywhere, so that could be another big narrative arc involving all the factions, idem to a big Waaagh).

I am  far more interested in both the Shadowkin and Light Aelfs. Not only because of their design concept, but also because both would be main players, while the Deepkin will be side-players just like the DoK, Kharadron, etc.

But I resisted buying DoK only because I know Deepkin are coming soon. I do not think I will be able to resist Deepkin based on the expectation of Shadow/Lightkin in a year or two!

I thought it was strange that Aelves - known to be linked to the Fate of Slaanesh, (so a big event surely meaning Slaanesh and Aelves releases) - would come during Malign Portents, an already big enough event !

But in fact, we have indeed more or less "side player"s in the form of Morathi and of the Idoneth Deepkin (at least side-players in the Fate of Slaanesh, even with Morathi's implication in the capture of the Prince of Chaos, not necessarily on the wider fight against Nagash and Chaos).

This way, GW releases some Aelves (people were asking for that since long) while keeping future Aelves releases for the Slaanesh narrative arc.

I don’t care about 40k, so my predictions only for AoS:

-Gamma: Idoneth and two shadespire bands.

-Adepticon: second starter set, WH Underworlds season 2

    That. Would. Be. Amazing.

    But ...

I think that there won't be so many news - and that a good  part of it will be for 40k (based on the past reveals anyway).

New Codexes and Boxed games aside (both stand alone and Specialist games like Necro or WHU), maybe we'll see a new 40k model line (that could be Knights, or something Chaos like World Eaters or Emperor's Children), and maybe a new Campaign set / a new Primarch coming this summer.

That means for AOS we "just" have the expectation of an (already named) new army (the Idoneth Deepkin), and maybe some future Battletomes / factions news (Moonclan Grot, Darkoath, Stormcast Ruination Chamber, etc.).

And alas I think, even if it comes in June, that March is too early for a Second edition stater set reveal...

    This and while

    (...)

has got a Point, I would argue that with a Adepticon following right on the heels of GAMA, we will see a teaser at Gamma and the full reveal at Adepticon a week later. This gives GW time to build up some hype and at the same time promote the more "board game oriented stuff" shown at GAMA.And they teased at LVO that we will see three (3!) new things at Adepticon...

But either way, at the end of March 25 latest we will probably a huge deal more about what is coming in Q2 2018

    Yeah that's true.

But I would have thought that Adpticon would be more 40k focused. This year, this summer also, must have some 40k releases ;)

And this month we have T'au, Forgebane and Necrons, then Drukhari (Harlequin and Imperial Knights).

Last year, GW showed at GAMA 2 boxed games (SWA and Shadespire) and 2 AOS releases : the re-cut stater set Thunder and Blood, and the full KO range.

We totally could see a new army, and here the more probable IMO is Idoneth Deepkin...

Don't know about Gamma as it's more about board games I think Adepticon is safer bet but who knows ;)

Last year GAMA saw teasers of Shadow War Armageddon, Shadespire and more importantly a full reveal of the Kharadrons Overlords range. So no :P

I am not so up to date with Stormcast, but how would the Sacrosanct mini's look like?

Well we don't know (and we don't know for Ruination either). But given the name of the unopened Chambers (that is, Ruination, Sacrosanct, etc.) and the "tactical roles" Stormcast are currently lacking (War machine, Scenery, Magic-Priest), it's possible to make some educate guesses...

And the Lord-Ordinator fluff in the Malign Portents book talks about fortresses (Stormkeeps, found elsewhere in the fluff) and War machines made of the Sigmarite metal (so no common, Ironweld war machines). It sounds to me as a Warmachine / artillery / siege maker Chamber, so maybe something called "Ruination".

Rumour I heard is that this Box is the new Stormcast Chamber (I recon Sacrosanct Chamber), and Nighthaunt (New wraiths as per artwork)

That would tie nicely with the other rumors ! Thank you

EDIT : the new chamber could be the Sacrosanct, but the rumors (and things like the Lord-Ordinator fluff) points toward Warmachines, which sounds more Ruination than Sacrosanct to me. But then if they have to fight unholy ghosts, Sacrosanct seems fine :P

Just realised that we are at an interesting point for AoS. As of today every model that has been previewed for AoS or Shadespire has been released. This is the first time that releases have caught up with previews since at least March last year when Ko and Shadespire was unveiled.

The future of Aos minis is currently a complete mystery. We know Deepkin are coming but noone can agree on what the aesthetic will be. We don't even know what the next bloodbowl team will look like. This makes me quite convinced that we will see some news from Gama next Tuesday if not over the weekend.

There is indeed the Idoneth Deepkin - full range - and the Vanguard Rangers & Blood Warriors warbands for Shadespire that still have to appear.

    - - -

Then we don't know anything for sure, but have rumors of :

    1)  New Battletomes / factions ; Slaves To Darkness / Darkoath (LoN style book) ; Moonclan / Grotbag Scuttlers ;

    2)  Stormcast warmachines and/or scenery (Ruination Chamber and Stormkeeps) ;

    3) Slaanesh end of the year, maybe November (4chan and Dakka - why not, or in 2019) ;

    4)  And AOS SECOND EDITION this summer (June*) ; could just means a rules reorganization to go with the FAQ system and a rulebook like 40k ; and a NEW STARTER SET ; impacting the GHB 2018 release (either summer or end of the year like Chapter Approved) --> the rumored Starter Set being "Death vs Stormcast" or "Death vs Aelves".

    5) Add to that Cubicle7's AOS RPG (second half of the year) and various Black Library books like Souls War (coming this summer too*...........). Seems pretty good to me.

    - - -

GAMA is the whole week though - maybe we'll get a teaser tomorrow night (as usual) and something along the week ! And by something I HOPE A FULL IDONETH REVEAL - EDIT : yeah right the schedule : http://www.gamatradeshow.com/show-schedule/ GW is indeed only Tuesday and Wednesday

I think it’s more likely Slaanesh will be the focus of the next campaign once Portents is wrapped up, and that this is foreshadowing. A campaign late this year or early next would tie in with about the sort of time you’d expect a new Chaos release based on existing patterns.

Yes and I always thought GW would keep Aelves for a "Fate of Slaanesh" narrative - but even with DoK and Idoneth we now have confirmation of at least 2 other Aelves factions - Tyrion&Teclis and Malerion - (perhaps) coming (soonish i.e. 2019), factions more linked in the fluff to that very Fate ...

I did hear there was to be a new Starter Set this year (could be a campaign box like Blightwar), featuring everyones favourite poster boys vs Death.

    Planned for summer I think.

Given the whole big build-up around Malign Portents, the fact GW knows we want "moar Death" and acknowledged it on their Facebook, and the whole new Logo / new Battletome format / new FAQ-GHB system (and 40k 8th), we really could see a "new edition" this year.

By that I mean just a reorganization of the fluff and rules, without changing it too much (or not at all, at least for the Four-pages core rule sheet).

    We'll then have :

    1) A new big core rulebook with ;

    - A good introduction to the Age of Myth, Chaos and Sigmar (including the Realmgate Wars, the Season of War and Malign Portents), i.e. a Time line. And with explanation of the Realms. And maps, both large (the Innerlands of the Realms, at least Aqshy, Ghyran, Chamon and Shyish) and detailed (more "high fantasy" like in the RGW).

    - The 4 rules pages, with Warscrolls explanations, etc..

    - A bit of the General's Handbook (3-ways-to-play introduction), Path to Glory, Skirmish and Campaign systems updated rules (i.e. "Advanced / optional rules section")

    - Informations on modeling, painting, etc.

(i.e. everything that is in the current  40k 8th core rulebook - way more handy (and pricey ?) than buying Age of Sigmar : Mighty battles bla bla + Malign Portents + Getting Started with AOS, etc.).

    2) A new Starter Set, of course, which obviously should contain Stromcast / Order (because poster boys and sales, etc.) and Death, as everything is pointing as Nagash being THE main antagonist of the current narrative.

I'm counting on a new REANIMANT Skeletons Death faction (based on the Illuminations / layout of the MP book and Website, and LoN book).

Sorry for the "educated wish listing" :P

Well thanks for your answer !

    I didn't know that thank you !

Does someone remember this rumour snippet ? I'm just quite impatient regarding new Death releases :P

OH ! I've really tried to follow the rumors mill and I didn't recall anything from this guy ; he alas deleted his account on Lady Atia'site...

But I remember a GW FB comment clearly saying : there will be more for Death this year (more = something else than Legions Of Nagash and the Knight Of Shrouds).

I am not sure about the ruins. Honestly I find them a little boring.  Most of the previous AOS terrain has has oodles of flavor.  These seem a little bland.  If I wanted this type of stuff I would just go with the Hobbit kit, has more vertical levels.

That's funny, that's precisely because they look like the LOTR scenery that I like those Azyrite Ruins ! Will complement nicely the Ophidian Archway and Numinous Occulum I already have...
