May I ask, where have they announced these builds to order?

Many of the old models were made to order but this was years ago. As we see the Heroes of the Old World was from July 2018.

Most of the made to order stuff was between 2016 and 2019

So the numbers are not in order (ascending or descending), and I cannot imagine a reason to have a random number board. I wonder if there is some sort of code here.

In Germany Advent Calendars are quite often not in order. I think it is that childen can search for the right door.

I keep thinking its February, and I have to Groundhog Day through 2020 again...

So you have "mm/DD/yyyy" as your date pattern on your laptop. In our case we would write todays date 02.12.2020.

When was the article release yesterday? I know that normally the Rumores Engine is quite early at 2 PM, but it's possible that we need to wait until 4 PM or so.

I've been looking to get my hands on the Covens of Blood book in hardback, and it is apparently already sold out online. Is there anywhere from GW or Black Library together a physical copy of the book or.am I stuck with digital already?

Thats strange. In USA and Canada it is sold out. In Europe (UK, Germany) it is still available. But I never have seen a novel sold out that quickly.

  5. Here is the full list of Legends

    https://www.warhammer-community.com/legends/

I know that Dark Elves, Skaven, Beastmen and Orcs & Goblins are full WHFB Armylists while Heroes of the Old World were only named Heroes.

The strange thing is that all the other documents are simply the last compenidum Lists GW made.

I'm quite unsure if GW maybe stopped making those pdfs when starting the development for "The old World"

    Hi all,

I know that you can play in a "classic" Ironjawz list in Ironjawz allegiance as well as Orruk Warclans allegiance. But what is the difference? What are the pros and cons of each allegiance?

    Thanks for your answers!

    HTG

The main difference is that Ironjawz Allegiance only includes units with the Ironjawz Keyword while Great Waaagh (Orruk Warclans is only the name of the Battletome includes all Orruks) So you can play a Army Mixing Ironjawz and Bonesplitterz (and theoretically Greenskinz). If you choose Ironjawz Allegiance you will have the Allegiance Rules of page 55-59.

Big Waaagh is a quite mixed allegiance. It has its own battletraits (Page 76-77) but uses the Command Traits, Artefacts of Power, Mount Traits, Warchanter Warbeats and Spell Lores of the Ironjawz and Bonesplitterz Allegiance as described on Page 77.

The Keywords needed for the Allegiances is described on Page 54, Allegiance Abilities.

Ok thank you! So you're just confirming my thoughts on the current state of this matter. However I disagree when you say it doesn't need a faq (and btw you disagree with yourself too adding "at the moment", implying a change could occur via faq) . This is clearly an oversight by the rules team because named characters shouldn't be customizable in their traits (including mount ones) . They aren' t generic leaders but specific ones with their own traits, paid in points. I also feel pretty weak the insinuation of correlation with a  named being able to choose spells, since a mount trait is much more comparable to a command trait/ artifact than to a spell. I think this rule was intended to prevent combos between traits/artifacts and nameds' own traits. Anyways point cleared, thank you

Maybe they change it with 3rd Edition but at the moment it is not restricted + the first Mount Traits were introduces directly after 2nd Edition with the Battletome Stormcast Eternals (so mounttraits are nearly as old as the edition itself).

I don't think I've ever come across this in AoS (or 40k or WFB for that matter), but after hearing on a 2+ Tough episode on the Varanguard that they could be devoted to a god, then switch to Archaeon's own brand, got me thinking.

Rulewise that were rules of the old Everchosen Battletome, that they could switch the Mark, thats no longer possible with the Slaves to Darkness Battletome.

In the lore it is possible that each member of a Varanguard could have its own mark and still be one unit. There was also a Warqueen that was a follower of Tzeentch, was betrayed and captured by a Khorne Lord and became of Khorne Follower in the process. But two markes at the same time should be quite rare.

I'm going to necro this post because I cannot find a definitive position by GW on this matter. It appears that RAW you can still give named characters' mounts despite this clearly appears not intended. Did I miss a faq out? What the faq :D

    It doesn't need an FAQ

The core rules state the following on Page 17 like Isotop said.

On 2/10/2019 at 6:51 PM, Isotop said:

"Named characters such as Nagash, Archaon and Alarielle are singular and mighty warriors, with their own personalities and artefacts of power. As such, these models cannot have a command trait or artefact of power."

A Mount Trait is neighter a command trait nor an Artefact of Power. So it isn't restriced for named Charakters at the moment.

    ---

So, we have the next milestone with 1,800 articles. Almost half of them are the placeholder articles for the Malign Portents stories that actually have to be filled properly.

Basically, the question arises as to whether the story articles could partially also function as TODO lists if, in addition to characters, for example, represented locations, artifacts were listed as similar lists.

  11. Reinforsssements have arrived.

Hm, looks like there is new crafting material for my snake army.

    1x Shadow & Pain

    4x Melusai

    2x Khinerai

    1x Witch Aelfs

I had a little tinkering session yesterday and today in connection with my post yesterday.

On the one hand the new Melusai Ironscale

    ACtC-3e11Qm-Y-fTPZ6KOKitIWW7m0fAb2L6MYkx

    10 "Melusai Witches"

    ACtC-3fAmk5q1WsDApFZYGGhKAlTp0U5Gy9s24RZxYsSz7GYjlNXcXheDdLsybUQrNvYX7UPfEb7WQE0EvCFxg8XQavtyU4-xyln70BcDuvO6pqYH3xlNJisVojCh6Bo_XKvJ5OjYwtkwOS7opn_pUi6Tw2b=w1232-h775-no?authuser=0

    10 "Melusai Sisters of Slaughter"

    10 Melusai Warlocks

    ACtC-3eqQiXk7awIVEiQBSMP1f_hHfuadAysheQ91d6lVPu90vWxhYySOVajPulgADD99tXksB2YdTgK8kM3ShLQ5Y_d1Q29oOnv19smPP9oI0Ey_amSow8jttaoJMr5cVqK9aM-vX04Vzt1IOIkSF9P1Jo5=w1025-h939-no?authuser=0

So there are only 3 out of 5 Melusai models that fit reasonably well on 32mm bases without protruding massively with the tail over the base (although I probably used such a model with the Sisters in one case). The two models that do not fit could be easily integrated into the Warlocks.

With deathguard already out of the bag now, it would be a bit strange if they got a teaser event now at least. Maggotkin is an older tome and something new there might be coming, I could see them making something similar to poxwalkers for AoS.

Maggotkin is actually the oldest Army Battletome at the moment. At the moment it had an update in Archaons wrath but some new models during Broken Realms could be possible. I don't think that they will get a new Battletome before a new Edition comes out.

Hi guys, i had a discussion with a friend of mine that plays idoneth/slaanesh

If a Bloodthirster attacks last, can i pile in anyway if another BT attacks and i use the batalion effect since it says that it attacks immediatly?

Also, in idoneth 3rd turn, if i have the artifct that at 4+ the BT attacks first, then can i attack with all the others?

My argument is that the batalion says that all the BT attack IMMEDIATLY BEFORE all the enemy models, so it cancels all the others shenanigans

The Tyrants of Blood Battalion should override the Attack Last, because of the Immediately. There was a question like that in the core rule FAQ:

    Quote

Q: If two abilities apply to a unit at the same time but are contradictory, how do you determine which ability is used?

A: If two abilities that apply to a unit are contradictory and cannot both be used, the ability that was applied second takes precedence. For example, the ‘Locus of Diversion’ battle trait forces a unit to fight at the end of the combat phase and is used at the end of the charge phase, while the Ironjawz ‘Smashing and Bashing’ battle trait allows a unit to fight immediately and is used in the combat phase. If both of these abilities applied to an Ironjawz unit at the same time, since the ‘Smashing and Bashing’ battle trait would be applied second, the Ironjawz unit would fight immediately instead of at the end of the combat phase. Note that this only occurs when it is impossible to use both abilities. For example, if one ability gave a unit a hit modifier of +1 and another ability gave the same unit a hit modifier of -1, both would be applied (and effectively cancel each other out).

In case of the artefact. It depends which players turn it is. It it is the the idoneths 3rd turn, they attack all before your model with "Khartoth the Bloodhunger" can attack. If it is your turn you can attack with that model and than trigger be Battalion to attack with other bloodthirsters.

    Quote

Q: If several abilities are triggered at the same time (at the start of a hero phase, for example), how do you determine the order in which they are used?

A: If several abilities can be used at the same time, the player whose turn is taking place uses their abilities first, one after the other, in any order they desire; then the player whose turn is not taking place uses their abilities, one after another, in any order they desire. The same principle applies to any other things – such as command traits or artefacts of power – that can be used simultaneously. Note that abilities used at the start or the end of a phase still count as being used in the phase in question. For example, the Flesh-eater Courts Savage Strike command trait allows a general to fight at the start of the combat phase, while the Stormcast Eternals Sequitor Aetheric Channelling ability is used at the start of the combat phase too. In the Flesh-eater Courts turn, the Savage Strike command trait would take effect before the Sequitor Aetheric Channelling ability. In the Stormcast Eternals turn, the Sequitor Aetheric Channelling ability would take effect before the Savage Strike command trait.

  14. In addition a weaponprofile never doubles it's attackvalue when the model does have multiple of the same weapon.

Corerules, Page 6, Attacking, Attack Characteristic, Paragraph 3.

    Quote

Some models are armed with two identical weapons. When attacking with these weapons, do not double the number of attacks that the weapons make; either the Attacks characteristic for the weapon will already take the extra weapon into account, or the model will get an ability on its warscroll that represents the effect of the additional weapon

  15. As part of the shadow and pain that was published today, I tinkered a little (I don't have the box yet. It should come to me on Thursday at the earliest).

After I already have 30 Blood Sisters and 15 Blood Stalkers, I built a Melusai Witch Aelf and a Melusai Sister of Slaughter just for fun.

    ACtC-3eXvZm3ukATLZoQ1IuIbCY5mQ0gbk3GZ97Ww8InvG8v6rfkkG0Dn5memgWZa6r5-QPYdpNftmDw42eoE14I0bGkK8GbZQ-IY2aY1skI0chIbyBvBeso2JRUPIx1hVQuMWo1nhomtmbm4z6h6E5Lt0gW=w1089-h939-no?authuser=0

I am not that enthusiastic about 32mm bases for Melusai because the tail and parts of the weapons then survive, but after you have teams of 10 at Witchaelfs, the 40mm bases are unfortunately really a bit impractical (and yes, I know actually the Witchaelfs are on 25mm bases, but they were already too small for the regular models). But I could at least consider building a few of these as well. Even if I already have some real Witchaelfs and Sisters of Slaughter. I should still have enough bits and even if not enough a box of Witchaelfs is usually enough to build 10 models of both as long as I have enough melus bodies.

Realmslayer isn't an audiobook but an audio drama, so its specifically made for audio. That means they use multiple voice actors; sound effects and cut a lot of the descriptive language that a book would have.

Audiobooks from BL are purely the regular books being read aloud, which is why they don't use sound effects and use just one narrator.

I have at least listened to "Prisoner of the Black Sun", which should be an Audiobook (because it has a written story as well), it had a narrator, which is sadly not really the case for Audiodramas, but the characters had their own voices and there were soundeffects as well.

    13 hours ago, Overread said:

BL did do a limited edition print version of Realmslayer which really highlights how its a script rather than a written story. Neat book if you find it as they also put the cover art from all the Old World adventures in there. Sadly it appears to be gone from the BL site now so like as not if you wanted it you'd have to hunt around stores or secondhand.

It went last chance to buy november 3th, so it is possible that it is sold out by now because it seems to be removed at the GW shop as well.

    ---

So today is my anniversary at Sigmarpedia. I have been there for 1 year now and Sigmarpedia has now reached 1600 articles. Sigmarpedia now has 20 times as many articles as it had a year ago.

To be able to toast it, article 1600 became an article for the Christmas miniature Jakkob Bugmansson XI, which was announced today.

    1 hour ago, Marcvs said:

It is the same rule as the lord of change and, afaik, the lord of change is generally played as being able to dispel an endless spell with this ability during the hero phase (so not necessarily at the beginning). I would play Teclis in the same way

The problem is Teclis, Lord of Change and Myrmourn Banshees all use the same wording.

    Myrmourn Banshees: Spell-eaters, sentence 4

    Quote

Once in each of your hero phases, if this unit is within 6" of an Endless Spell, this unit can attempt to dispell the endless spell in the same manner as a wizard

    Lord of Change, Spell-eater

    Quote

Once per turn, in your hero phase, you can pick 1 endless spell within 18" of this model. That endless spell is dispelled

    Teclis, Discs of the Aelementiri

    Quote

In your herophase, ..., this model can automatically dispel 1 endless spell (do not roll 2D6)

All of the abilities state that the ability is used "in your herophase" but we have the rule that Dispelling an Endless Spell is at the Start of the Herophase and in case of the Myrmourn Banshees they said that the ability has to be used at the start of the Herophase because it is the time when Endless Spells are dispelled.

    Quote

Q: I have a question regarding the Myrmourn Banshees ability ‘Spell-eaters’ and its interaction with endless spells, specifically the part of the rule which reads: “Once in each of your hero phases, if this unit is within 6" of an endless spell, this unit can attempt to dispel the endless spell in the same manner as a Wizard.” Can this ability be used at any time during the hero phase?

A: No, it must be used at the start of the hero phase (as Wizards can only attempt to dispel at the start of the hero phase).

So why should the dispelling be at a diffent point for the Lord of Change and Teclis. The only difference is that they do not roll dice to dispell.

If they wanted to break the rule when the Endless Spell is dispelled I think there should be "and can dispell at any point of the Herophase instead of only at the start of the herophase".

If something will break a rule it has to be activly mentioned in the rule.

It's more a mistake that GW still uses "In your Herophase" for dispelling rules instead of "At the start of your Herophase" but still the "In your Herophase" doesn't override the "At the start of your Herophase of the dispelling" as shown with the Myrmourn Banshees.
