  1. This is just a personal view, but I think with AoS 4 fast approaching and with the launch of The Old World, 2024 is the time for some lingering band aids to be ripped off and for AoS to be finally freed up from previous fantasy lines. Grand Alliance Chaos - Blades Of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch, Hedonites of Slannesh, Maggotkin of Nurgle, Slaves to Darkness and Skaven are 6 clearly definied, setting specific factions that allow for ample creative freedom. With Skaven all but assured to be getting a full faction overhaul with the Launch of 4th, Beasts are the only real hangover from Fantasy. GW have been very clear that ToW isn't a setting rife with demonic armies. Skaven are also not a significant force, but Beasts are listed as one of the main core factions. It's almost been completely spelled out by GW that this is what is going to happen. The only real question is how Beasts as a "faction" will be approached in AoS, will they be completely reminaged (With a new AoS name and minis or "rolled into" the exisiting Chaos factions with God specific units) Grand Alliance Death - Flesh Eater Courts, Nighthaunt, Ossiarch Bonereapers, Soulblight Gravelords are once again, clearly defined setting specific factions, with it being spellied out, once again, that Vampire counts are NOT apart of ToW setting. Tomb Kings are the Undead faction of the Old World. No cross over... Grand Alliance Order - This grand alliance is almost 90% "AoSified" with only Cities of Sigmar holding onto a handful of Dwarf units that are confirmed to be in ToW (My bet is they will not be in CoS 4 Battletome). It has been stated clearly that Dark Elves WILL NOT be apart of ToW and I think it is pretty clear that we will be seeing Malekith and his accompanying emo-elves appear in AoS, retiring or picking up some of the old Dark Elf units (My bet is these will also NOT be apart of CoS 4). Seraphon are an AoS faction now, 100%. Lizardmen have been stated to NOT be apart of ToW. Sylvaneth are already pretty far away from Wood Elfs and with the potential up coming Kurnothi it will further drive that distinction between them (Woodies have plenty of existing kits to draw from for ToW) Grand Alliance Destruction - I think Ogors are on the AoS "refresh block" (and once again it has been made clear they are not apart of ToW) and I think we might see new AoS Goblins and the removal of Savage Orukks from AoS (to both be ported over to the Old World) So this is how I see it. Lizardmen, Ogors, Dark Elves, Vampire Counts, Skaven are not coming to the Old World. The PDF's are throwing the mouthy minority a bone. Dark Elfs, Dwarfs, Goblins and Savage Orks are going the way of the dodo. Beasts of Chaos are getting moved to AoS and there will be a plenty of kits that will be removed entirely and sent to the GW vaults. A final point, I think doing this (and perhaps even more) would be a VERY GOOD thing. I would love to see some genuinely NEW factions and ideas in AoS. I'm not a fan of everything having to stay around for ever and people screaming bloody murder because a model isn't being supported 20+ years after it was first released. I have said it before, but I would advocate a continual culling of the bottom 10% of AoS on a YEARLY basis. Keeping the game, models and factions fresh. Like pruning a tree.
  2. I can 100% see the current BoC line-up being moved over to ToW (Considering almost the entire line is from Fantasy anways) and for Beasts to get an AoS "reimagining" (Or reforging if you will) God specific beast units could also be added to the mono-god factions and for the faction to be removed as it's own thing.
  3. TOW - Bretonnia + Beasts of Chaos AOS - Seraphon + Cities + (4th Edition hype!) 40k - T'au + Aeldari Also plan on finally making a proper gaming table and getting into some 3D printing.
  4. The problem I have with the endless spells is that they are very hit and miss in terms of miniatures. Some of them look great, whilst others look pretty poor. At the end of the day GW only has the logistical capacity for a certian number of kits. If endless spells were to be ended (har har) for AoS 4.0 to make way for new stuff, I'd be ok with that.
  5. As for the Dwarf Dice. I could see them getting through all 9 factions in 2024. I could see Dwarfs coming with O+G in Spring, HE and Chaos in Summer, Beasts and Woodies in Autumn and Empire for Christmas.
  6. People pay a premium for that sensation yah know! πŸ˜…
  7. Aussie prices are expensive... It's almost like they are on the other side of the world with a higher per capita GDP than the UK.
  8. I have said it before, but I really liked the concept of The End Times. Makes perfect sense to me that the world would eventually end (just as ours will) and people/factions actually died (just as we all will) As a fan of fantasy like Game Of Thrones, I have no problem with death, it's a fundamental part of life and stories without it lack something IMO. I also think it's peak grimdark-Warhammer for the world to be consumed by Chaos. The following evolution into the Mortal Realms over aeons, (with some familiar souls and concepts) has worked well, I just wish we would see as much detail and TLC given to the realms as a setting as ToW has received.
  9. I'm waiting till I get my hands on the actual books, why they decided to double down on the "Good" v "Evil" descriptors I do not know, seems completely unnecessary. They have the factions split into Ravening Hordes and Armies of Fantasy. That's enough. Warhammer is quintessentially "No Good Guys". Following along but some really strange decisions in terms of how they are approaching things.
  10. Having a look through the Beasts Of Chaos section of Warhammer.com, I really think (and hope) that Beasts are on the slate for an AoS 4.0 complete overhaul. Almost the entire range is from The Old World and with Beastmen listed as one of the 9 core ToW factions, I could see see them being "removed" from the AoS line-up only to reappear in a large Army Box (My guess is alongside Wood Elves) for ToW.
  11. This is something that GW really needs to work on when it comes to AoS. The realms need be be treated almost like 8 "Old Worlds" With maps, factions, regions etc far more fleshed out.
  12. You are deliberately conflating two completely different issues. You can try to order a million copies of a certain product if you wish, but you will only be allocated as many as they have to give. What does NOT happen, however, is if you order a certain amount and then get double that amount and are refused return. With all due respect, I think you are spreading misinformation and want to move on because you are being called out for doing so.
  13. No, you don't. No, it's not. No, they can't. No, they didn't. Again, which FLGS were these specifically? Kingdom Wargames, Game or Wargame Garrison in Madrid? Goblintrader in Valencia/Barcelona/Madrid? Friquest or Dungeon Marvels in Barcelona? Racoon Games in Seville?
  14. Which FLGS and where? Any specifics or is this another example of "I read a random forum post somewhere claiming something and it is now a fact" πŸ˜… If you have a trade account with GW you place an order for products. You might not receive as much as you would like due to supply issues. If you were to receive more than you ordered you would just return them and it would be a breach of contract if GW sent you more than you had ordered and refused return.
  15. GW doesn't just send products to FLGS. They need to order them from GW. Is it GW's fault if FLGS over-order? And have GW "Over-produced" when they have just created the amount to match the demand for orders? It's not GW's responsibility for FLGS to sell stock, it is GW's responsibility to sell stock to FLGS. Which they did.
  16. I'm torn on the issue of faction support. Whilst I agree that logistically it is perhaps unrealistic to expect significant updates to all 24 factions across an edition cycle, I do think that GW could approach faction "content" across an edition in a more engaging manner and not leave outlying kits within specific ranges languishing for years at a time. (How long do you think it will take for them to get around to updating the Saurus Oldblood and Saurus Guard kit to match the quality of the rest of the range? The Oldblood is still listed on the store on a square base!) I'd like to see them move away from the "Battletome + Hero" update meta they have been on for a while and instead go for a "Battletome + Unit kit"
  17. Which is kind of the point I was making. We just don't know, but some parrot forum speculation as if it's settled fact. It might be the case, might not. We don't know what GW's intention was (except to make as mjuch money from the product as possible). Also, print runs go down in price the more you make, perhaps this amount of production lead to the cost per unit decreasing significantly thereby increasing profits? I'm not really taking a stance either way, just highlighting the fact that we don't know the facts.
  18. I think it is funny that you parrot this forum "knowledge" and state it as if it is a known fact. There have been exactly 0 official statements from Gamesworkshop regarding the production run of Dominion. This tends to happen fairly frequently when it comes to Games Workshop. Somebody will make a post on a forum speculating that they think something is the case, several people will repeat it and then it just becomes an accepted truth even though there has actually been 0 official confirmation either way.
  19. Some online distributors have both listed as in stock. (UK-based) Remember that GW is primarily a manufacturer, not a retailer.
  20. Both Leviathan and Dominion are available online to this day.
  21. GamesWorkshop's revenue for 2023 was nearly half a billion pounds. They have nearly 800,000 MyWarhammer accounts through their official site alone. How many Warhammer customers do you think have a MyWarhammer account? 1 in 5? 1 in 10? 1 in 100? Depending on how you describe a customer, if you were to say an individual who has purchased a GW product (at one of GW 500+ Warhammer stores or through the 6000+ trade accounts across 70+ countries) in the last 12 months then I would suggest that you would be in the 8 figure range in terms of customer base size. Then you are just being silly. The product isn't for you. Move on.
  22. Yes, and they are making plastic kits. Most likely 20+ plastic kits, they are making more plastic kits than any other Specialist game apart from LOTR, PLUS resin. More plastic kits than the Horus Heresy.
  23. But it's not. You are buying something. I think a lot of people are underestimating just how popular the Old World IP is. Total War Warhammer has sold over 40 MILLION copies.
  24. Because this is a multi-billion-pound market cap company and what you are talking about are two different pools of money from very different departments. The miniature of the month is produced as part of marketing/advertising and will come from that department's budget. Also, the size of the sprue is very important as the tooling will be cut in aluminum slates and the price is exponential when talking about a single mini sprue and one four times that size (or multiple sprues) Don't get me wrong. I would have loved to have seen new sculpts for Tomb King Skeletons, Chariots and Knights and I think the Bone Dragon, whilst cool, is a misstep. However, I can also step back from the project as a wargaming miniature fan and put my cold, dark, bean counter head on and see why they are going in the direction they are. ToW is being produced by the Specialist design studio. A design studio that has an almost fully fleshed-out game slate in Necromunda, LOTR, etc. They have a massive amount of existing artwork and miniature tooling which have been sitting in storage for the best part of a decade (depending on which kits) for ToW. They are looking to bring the ToW back, make a splash and for it to be profitable instantly. It's looking like they are going to try and aim for two Armies per quarter and these army boxes are looking like a single plastic leader model with older models (which cost nothing to produce) and a book (using a lot of recycled artwork)+ templates. So the upfront investment per army box is very low. The entire project looks like there is investment earmarked for a good 18+ New plastic kits with between 40/50 New Resin kits (and potentially 10+ hardback books) That is really significant. What I hope happens is that these boxes shift like hotcakes and the ToW sticks with the 9 factions they have outlined. Building a decent nest egg and calming the fears of those not sold on the project. With ToW 2.0 seeing the release of new replacement kits for armies (like the Tomb King Skeletons) PS: I think a huge deciding factor in the success of these boxes will be the price point. I really hope GW goes for an aggressive pricing strategy to kick the system off with a bang. Β£120 would be great as it would allow discounters to go for Β£99.
