  1. The shrine buff is determined by the Mark it carries. Then you give that buff to any valid unit (Slaves to Darkness). IF that unit also has the same mark as your shrine, there is an added beneficial effect taking place.

I haven't seen all abilities (even though I should have most of the books, but focus myself on AoS lore at the moment) but I would actually say no. They have heroes that give additional points at the start of the game and they have Abilities that let regenerate CP with a dice roll when using a stratagem.

Sorry, should have been clearer I was talking about 9th Ed.

"But there’s more! Not only do you start the battle with more Command points, but in each of your Command phases – the new opening phase of your turn – you will receive one additional Command point."

The Problem with the comparrision between CP in AoS and 40k is that in AoS we get 1 point per round while 40k has the maxiumum of points at the start of the game.

In 8. Edition 40k it was 3 Points Core + X Points for each Detachment (and you can have more than 1). So an Elite Army has 4-5 Points because their detachments only generate 1 Point, while someone who has cheap core infantry could basicly spam CP and start with 12-20 CP that can be used by the elite stuff. Players playing multiple Detachments and/or playing multiple factions are favoured here.

From the rumores for 9th Edition they turn this arround that you start with maybe 12 CP but your detachments cost CP (except the coredetachment with the Warlord). That way monodetachment Lists get favored over multidetachment Lists. (Basicly like the Allegiance Rules of AoS where a Monofaction has better Allegiance Abilities.

Now we have AoS where you get 1 CP per round + 1 CP at the start of Game per Battalion + maybe addition CP if a model has a ability for it.

So if you don't get Command Abilities for free you have 1 maybe 2 CP to use or you have to wait rounds to get more CP.

The only faction that has many points at the moment are the Ossiarch Bonereapers because they have their own System.

Without Command Abilities for Free, most of the time you will have more options to spent points than points in your pool (so the decisions matter).

They've also added the +1 CP per turn in 40k no?

Emmet mentioned that C7 is negotiating with Roll20 for official support, first for WFRP though. I don’t think there would be a problem though if someone made a file, there are different versions for both C7’s TOR and WFRP.

Do you know if we need a Premium account to do that?

  5. Guys! Do we know if Roll20 is going to have Character sheet integrated for Soulbound? Since they are available freely for download I would have assumed there wasn't any copyrights issues and it would help massively with campaigns...

    hi

I can't decide between Dankhold troll army or the Mawtribes ?

Both look cool and I really can't decide .

Anythoughts which would be easier to play and which might bring a better game to the table ?

You've received a really good answer above!

But what I would ask if where and in what format are you going to play?

Is your aim to play mostly with friends, to go to tournaments, to win tournaments or to go to narrative events?

If you are evolving in a mostly for fun or narrative environment, you also have the option of going for the Grand Alliance destruction. And I would have said start with one start collecting or box of trolls, try to paint it, get a game in and see what you like! Building on from that.

    Have fun!

  7. Nice article! I would definitely encourage people to play their conversion as well, but like @zilberfrid mention I always try to avoid confusion. The way I found it is to often be really faithful to the original model.

I have converted a few Chaos Warshrine and they're all on Stardrake bases. On one hand I will be "gaining" because of the range increase if I still use my base size to measure the aura, on the other more people can get in contact with me and that will probably cause me to die quicker. I haven't played with it yet, but clearly I might reduce the aura range from the start just to avoid some people complaining about it, specially since that's not the reason I've converted the model !

    I have a general question:

assuming it’s the opponent’s turn to pick a units to fight but there‘s none left. Then it‘s my turn to pick a unit  and I decide to pile in with a unit that has  a 6“ pile in into an enemy unit that hasn‘t fought yet: is the enemy allowed to hit me back after I have attacked?

I would say yes because there is not a "pass turn" mechanism as such.

However you need to make sure that the 6" pile in allows you to pile in a unit that isn't at 3" or less of you.

(I know it sounds confusing but except if the rules have changed I believe this is the case).

Really nice. I really love Soulbound core book.

    Can't wait!!

Same! We played our first game on Sunday, and it went quite well I think. Most of us had really limited RPG experience or no experience of RPG and even AoS.

I think they've done a great job and I'm looking forward to get my hands on more :)

I think you are right, either they forgot to add the condition or to delate the asterisk. I would ignore the asterisk for the time being. You could add this to their errata file, they'll try to update the PDF within this week if I remember correctly:

Thanks for the link! I was waiting for it, did not know it was already live. I have spotted quite a few mistakes haha :D

@Emmetation actually, is there no way to submit more  than  one issue per form? I have started working on a Google Sheet listing them...  If I use the same format would that be okay to share with you guys?

  11. Anybody would know why the Black Ark Corsair (page 50) has an asterisk (*) after the Silver Tongue Talent?

My understanding was that the asterisks come when there is a required condition (often skills) to have that Talent, but can't see any in the description of the talent page 89.

  12. I've started catching up with your content and it's really pleasant guys your doing a good job!

Specially helping me with making sure I keep it a positive hobby because that's what it is :D

    I believe 2 + S means 2 + successes.

So basically any successes over the minimum required is extra damage. Assuming I understand this accurately.

    1 minute ago, Emmetation said:

No, + S is plus successes. So any successes you get are added to damage.

Ohh I see, sorry my bad.  I thought the successes were multiplied by the damage value, 😅 with this example the maths were still working.

  14. 3 minutes ago, Emmetation said:

Sorry yeah, that last line is an error. The Troggoth's armour was changed from 1 to 2 late in the game. I thought I had amended the example but I missed that last bit. The Troggoth's Toughness should be reduced by 2

Ok great! And the +S is meant to be a "times 2" correct?

  15. I am a tad confused by an example on page 150 :

"Darach attacks and hits the Troggoth, getting 2 successes. His Kurnoth Greatsword deals 2 + S Damage, so he deals a total of 4 Damage. The Troggoth’s tough hide gives it a natural Armour of 2, meaning it takes only 2 Damage (4 – 2). The Troggoth’s Toughness is reduced by 3. "

Why is the Toughness not reduced by 2 ?

    And is the "2 + S" meant to be "2 x 2" ?

Np my dude. Every game has issues with conversion. Its a well put together book and the art is amazing. Great Job

Yep, really enjoying it! But it would be great to have a chance at correcting them at least for the print version :)
