Ok yeah sorry I just saw a lot of people ganging up on the guy for no real reason. He may not be a reliable source (yet), but while LLV is great, but he did once post... And also that Darkoath would be coming same time as Beastmen, and that Slaanesh was Xmas/Jan. Which were then followed up with changes, just like the guy you have questioned. Rumours are rumours, you apply your own level of trust to them, and even the trusted ones can be miles off, its all 3rd hand info after all.

Sorry to be harsh but why do you come to a rumour thread? The only confirmed 'rumours' we get are from the Warhammer community page. We have never had anything but the above quality of rumour, if we have had better/reliable rumour sources please point them out.

Maybe they are doing the battletome for cities based Duardin, the builders, which could easilly include all of the Ironweld if thats how they choose to direct the battletome. Doesnt mean thats all Disspossessed, but its an option they could choose to take (for now).

I, like a lot of KO players probably, have a bunch of Thunderers sat un-used after their scroll changed. I never actually got round to building mine as I used their points to ally in some Stormcast Prosecutors (to acompany my Azyros, im so narrative it hurts 😁) . Ive never really went back to them as I was getting a bit bored of the amount of shooting my Mhornar list already had. Might give them a shot now, possibly with some more Frigates to replace the Riggers. Fun times!

Ive never been a complete subscriber to the 'we are terrible' line. KO (and dispossessed) can do well just they dont seem to have everything they need in their faction, so allies are often called upon to plug gaps. In this case Evocators added the resiliance and magic dispel KO are generally missing, letting our units do what they do best, shoot a lot of stuff! 😀 I know a lot dont like to ally in things, but with a bit of thought it can be fun and also help. I only got to watch half of game 6 (so far) but was impressed by how Krohn played so looking forward to a write up on his thoughts.

It doubt it will be a retcon, time is moving forward in the AoS universe (that was the point of AoS over Fantasy) so id guess any changes will be an 'evolution' (LOL) or progression of their story.

Honestly for me they dont need a bonus, not everything has to be great at all levels. Given players only have them from either boxed-game or ETB set they will/should never be a great unit, but filler. Right now they struggle to be a filler option, I think giving them 'battleline-if XX general' with no other change would be sufficient, if what? maybe Incantor, or Ordinator, or Exorcist. Not great choices as general that is true, but i think it give just enough flexibility for castigators to get use in smaller games while possibly providing a bit more option at larger sized games for those who want to try something different.

I dont think anyone invested in the game (like people on this forum) would argue with you, but as you point out GW need/want a unique marketing focus and Stormcast are very good for that. Im sure they are aware it might turn some people off, and it certainly sucks seeing friends put the game down whatever the reason, but it can be seen that the approach brings more in that it pushes away. They will already have a plan (and models!) for the next few years, and it would be an odd bet that Stormcast dont feature strongly in that plan.

Retreating from combat in the combat pahse (their unique warscroll ability) lets you essentially get a free move in the combat phase. So in the turn you have moved, shot, charged (remember only only model from the unit needs to be within 1/2" so rest of the unit can string out where you like), combat pahse retreat (running obviously for another 4+D6" move). If the opponent has not fully screened an objective, thats a whole lot of movement you could try and use to get around them to the objective.

Honestly? yes. The internet constantly harps on about how x and y faction need update and that GW should spread its love around, but that completely ignores the clearly obvious focus GW puts on developing their headline factions, the ones that are very carefully designed to draw in new people across hundreds of stores and entirely new markets. This approach works, it sells lots, look at GW sales figures, their shareholders demand it, and they speak louder than the internet. You may consider otherwise, thats fine, neither of us have any influence on this at all (unless you own a good enough % of GW shares to have a say at the general meeting). This is getting away from the topic. Paint schemes are flexible and only enforced by who you choose to play or where you choose to play (some tournaments may require correct schemes).

I agree. While they are all still in the same book it cant be long before that might change, we know Hammers are getting extra rules in Feb WD, just like Crimson Fists did in Jan. They (along with lots of other codex chapters) are very clearly distinctive with their own background and some rules, but their core rules are in a shared book. Stormhosts are obviously not as well known as marine chapters that have been around since the 90's (or longer), but that doesnt mean Stormhosts can be dismissed. *I have zero issue with an opponent playing as different Stormhosts (or marine chapters) to what they are painted, as long as im told beforehand.

I think this is definitely the case. They need models/ranges to drive interest as well as 'sell' and thats why they develop Stormcast so much, other ranges draw on popular themes like Goblins or Ghosts, a fish theme army might not sell a lot directly but being so different can draw in other buyers and maybe not compete for existing fans cash which will be spent on GW stuff anyway.

Thats not actually correct, there are plenty of instances of rules that apply if 'unit did not move in the movement phase'. The language used by GW is very imprecise a lot of the time, so it could easily be understood that choosing to move 0" is the same as not moving, but also having completed the movement action 'step' of the rules, certainly id expect it to be FAQ'd that way if it came up.

I know sorry, it was supposed to be a joke. Too many of these conversations go down the path of if its not in the rules then its worthless and often end in blame being thrown at GW (blame for giving people options, hilarious), like the Castigator ETB coming with a gryph-hound FOR FREE (the other ETB set was just 3 models) and people were practically going crazy that it didnt have rules (or to be correct, points, because points is all so many people care about), actually complaining about FREE stuff, weird. There is nothing weird about giving a model kit options, people get all bent out of shape just because some of the options are not 'optimal', thats the weird bit. I swear sometimes people would be happier with the old style mono-pose one piece models.

I built one of my sequitors with the pointing hand instead of a shield, I also built a prime conversion with a Cache and shield using the ETB prime. I shall now quit the hobby as I'm clearly doing it wrong by having fun and not being a slave to the most point efficient builds 😏

While I dont know about Chaos Lords, the AoS rules for the Godsworn Nightvault warband have re-roll 1's against 'Stormcast', which I think is the first time ive seen them named as a targeted faction? Possible indication of what we may see from other units in that faction.

If there was a rumour, people would be chatting about the rumour. If there was no random chat this thread would fall off the first page and people wouldnt come to TGA to post rumours.
