  1. Ironclad airship with a Zilfin allegiance that drops 12" off your line, dumps all of its troops (up to 25 foot troops and an unlimited number of balloon troops) 9" off your line then obliterates everything that their weapons and charges can reach.
  2. Rumor has it that Compendium will be released as a separate PDF on the main site. They aren't in the GHB2017.
  3. Those with book previews are suggesting that this is the only "warscroll" change. No other points adjustments on KO other than the Khemist going to 140, up from 100.
  4. For the record, they're five 1 wound models for 100 points on a four up save and no functional melee attack. They were a high point cost investment and easily removed from the board. To get some perspective, for their points, you got four times the wounds out of the same number of points of Savage Orc Archers. The biggest kick in the teeth here is that KO still haven't won an event in their 4 months since release and the illusionary tournament threat of masses of Thunderers murdering everything never materialized. So they corrected a problem that doesn't seem to have actually hit the table. Skyfires on the other hand...
  5. Yep. One reviewer said approximately 70% of the units received points adjustments.
  6. As a final note regarding these Thunderer changes, I've created a poll in the Order forum hoping to gather some initial data that I want to pass on to GW to get an idea of how the forthcoming changes to Thunderers are both felt and perceived by the community. If you want to participate in that feedback or discuss these changes further, I would encourage you to jump over there. I don't want to clog up the Rumor Thread with a discussion of this change. You can find that thread here.
  7. You use to be able to all equip them with the same weapon (hence my painted unit of Aethercannons). Now, they force you to have 1 of each weapon, so those individuals who purchased 10 boxes (to get full units of 10 with a single weapon) 4 months ago (!!!) are screwed. I can't even return the boxes since they are each missing one model. How did this not make it to the community site ahead of time?
  8. This is from the reviews coming out of GHB2017. So those of us who purchased 10 boxes only 4 months ago are screwed. Edit: And for posterity, here's the unit that I just finished yesterday. All 10 boxes of my thunderers are missing 1 model right now.
  9. What most people haven't seen are the rewritten scroll. Allies are 400 points you say? Mwahahaha.
  10. Don't forget that the Cauldron doubles as a Bloodwrack Shrine, which is also in faction and also rather affordably priced for the army. Four of these boxes would get someone 40 Witch Elves/Sisters, 2 Cauldrons of Blood with Hag, 2 Bloodwrack Shrines with Medusa, 2 Hags on Foot and 2 Medusa on foot. That is a fantastic start to this army and you'd only need to fill in with a couple boxes of Witches/Sisters, Warlocks, or allies to be set.
  11. Yep, as Cauldron is $75 and Witched as $60. If you can find a 15% off retailed, you can get the DoK allies box for $85, which is a 38% discount off of retail. That's pretty good for that army.
  12. Here are confirmed USD prices from a distributor for next weeks release: General's Handbook 2017 $35 Warscroll Cards for Ironjawz, Beastclaw Riders, Sylvaneth, Bonespliterz $15 Open War Cards $15 Allies Boxes Warherds $75 Spiderfang Grots $65 Daughters of Khaine $100 Aleguzzlers $75 Slaves To Darkness $80 Deathrattle $65 Nighthaunt $55 Collegiate Arcane $40 These allies boxes appear to be limited production so if you want something, I would snatch it up.
  13. It seems there are certain sub-factions/allegiances that any given sub-faction can ally with. It does not seem like there is a free-for-all on allying.
  14. I love playing with large units. It is a great solution to much of what plagues AOS right now.
  15. The base Skirmish rules or our expansion? The base rules can be purchased from GW for like $10. We'll have a link for folks to download the initial beta test in the coming weeks.
  16. Hey folks, Vince and I have finally went public on a community project we're working on for Warhammer Skirmish. For those familiar with our AOS Mordheim we wrote back in 2015, this will be using much of the same content and bringing it forward to be compatible with AOS Skirmish. Many of the subsystems/elements will be modular so that people can use what they want and ignore what they don't. The first version will be rules and text as we'll be looking for play testing and feedback; a more refined version will come down the road.
  17. Yeah, if I was 4 inches, then I should have been at 1" with an attack if they had 1" weapons (or more attacks with 2" weapons). Great catch! Thanks! I'll keep the suggestions in mind.
  18. Yep, it definitely was. This is why most of the examples I gave were pile ins right after charges. The specific example was from models he was removing which allowed me to pile in through his line and hook in the skyfires from behind.
  19. Hey folks! I'm starting a new video series on exploring some of the more advanced functions of basic AOS mechanics. In my first video, I look into the "Pile In" mechanic. I'd love to hear any feedback you have on the insights or what other topics you'd love for me to explore in the future. Enjoy!
  20. No, Varanguard are 360 for a unit of 3, 120 points for 1. It is the individual model cost that is divided by 5. Notice that 120 (cost of 1 Varanguard), divided by 5...is 24. It looks like this is a pretty straightforward conversion math that they used.
  21. Mordheim was always 6-12 models. I suspect these skirmish boxes will contain more models than you actually need for the starter warband. Here are the images Ben Johnson shared today for the demo Skirmish game being placed on Warhammer TV on Weds: I suspect they were limited by what they could offer based on what was on currently available sprues. They clearly aren't going to make more molds for Skirmish but rather use what they had.
  22. Not sure. But the Ironjawz is also a good deal as it gives Brutes at a reasonable discount as well.
