  1. If they command ability of the arch worked on shooting... then I'd see a solid first 2 rounds of shooting.. and then archie moving to buff melee. I'm wondering what will buff them enough to be worth it... if they could ignore look out sir maybe
  2. Careful.. Mirage might hear you. Anyway same points but the rules on the rev's have improved.
  3. The 1 inch vision rule probably won't apply to the new ones.. but if we can choose which too use that would be nice. . Block enemy behemoths on that side.. Let mine pass on the other side.
  4. Generally no points in tome but in ghb right?
  5. Nice.. But. . The trees look better with leaves.
  6. I ran Alarielle, 2 wraith , 2 x 20 dryads, 2x 10 dryads, 2x 3 bowhunters and summons another 3 bows. It was nearly ideal anti chaos batallion, his behrmoths starting 24 away from midline and i had shooting to damage thirsters before impact... wasnt enough. He dispelled nearly every spell I had. I got 1 thirster low on hp before impact and finished it after it killed 10 dryads. After that his other 3 hit me on the other side of the table. Well 1 big axe guy hit 20 dryads and killed half - 3+ rr 1's, 2+ even with -1 to hit due to ghyrstrike - I prevented battle shock and removed dryads to disengage. Since he be able to hit alarielle anyway and because I had to do some thing (he had all objectives) I pu talarielle into him hoping to take him out (had a few wound from shooting then) but got him too 2 remaining. .. With 2 wound they arent even in the lowest bracket. He'd unbound my mystic shield and just killed alarielle in one combat with a 280 point bt. Next turn skar brand hit 3 bows and was going to auto hit me with 8 mw.. except he rolled 6 so it was 16 auto mw. On a1+ mw .. not a to hit roll so 1 wouldn't have failed. Dryads with exploding attack where impressive against his hounds (3x5 as battleline) and rerolling 1's with Kurnoths and alarielle was nice but my d3 on hunter damage was abysmal.
  7. If they have 4 of those it's really hard.. I had units of 10 dryads (which I used to screen), units of 20 dryads. I played winterleaf AND I was on escalation so he started them FAR away.. can't get much more anti chaos than that and ideal scenario and I had 2 units of shooty hunters and summoned 1. I finally killed 2 but then I was nearly tabled already, damage rolls on my shots where terrible I'll admit but his big axe thirster had a ghyrstrike and it was like 2+ 2+ rend 2 damage d6 … x 5. Even when nearly dead those things have more than 50% damage output I think (unlike our big guys who loose 75% of damage output).
  8. I think that without a buff (and with current LoS bow hunters deserve to be 20 points less than melee guys. I just hope that mean the melee guys dont get an increase. I meant bloodthirsters btw, tyrants of blood, especially. The one with the big axe took hits from.alarielle.. but even nearly dead his finished her off easily. Skarbrand deleted 3 hunters in pne hit etc
  9. If they'd wanted that they could've done that in the GHB lore... and they didn't. I doubt they'll be doing this but I hope the same.
  10. Then he left them out to hang right
  11. I'm not.. I'm hoping spites will be an extra option for magic items . For use on treelords (ALSO non hero ones) like SC mounts get options.
  12. I like your optimism.. if dryads get a free -1 to hit... well.. that would be great... On the other hand.. a -1 to hit for ANY sylvaneth unit withing 6-9-12"of a big tree would be nice too Well... GHB 2019 could make both kinds of spites drop in points again. They have utility which makes them possibly a great unit... at 60-70 points . Also.. if we loose OTHER teleport options that might make them more needed (the opposite would also be true: if teleporting gets more general for our army they'd be useless unless points really drop). - Agreeing with you on the trees. - Not really on the T-revs, but maybe I'm just not good enough... and my problems lately stem from 3-4 BT lists that would fly over them. - I think getting Archie behind enemy lines won't be so easy that it can be counted on to use reliably in the way you describe it personally. I'd be hesitant to try and get him there on his own. - I lack spite but if they'd just drop another 10 points I'd certainly try what you are saying (I'd do it now.. but I don't have them... if they drop in points I'd actually build a unit from the looncurse set :D) - Sadly bravery stuff doesn't seem a reliably strategy... there is just SOOO DAMN MUCH B 8-9-10 around. I've NEVER used drycha's own spell... I mean usually hoping for a 10+ on a mystic bolt seem a better idea. Appreciate the effort you put into your posts here btw.
  13. Yeah this is really helping. NOW the opponent really has to mind their objectives. Teleporting to the edge NEAR an objective isn't the same thing. I know people often don't like the over the top things of AoS.. but I'd hoped for something similar (lone tree) but... a bit more over the top
  14. Yeah seems logical to me.. and .. I hope ours are as good as the Khorne ones
  15. I've had people be annoyed about wyldwood too... but I just played a Khorne Tyrants of blood army with 3 thirsters and skarbrand... Skarbrand autodealing 8 MW when he arrives in combat (that 1+ roll apparently isn't a hit roll so 1's also count?) and then dealing a ton of damage besides seems more annoying to me.. or the cheapest BT around even at only 2 wounds left having a damage output higher than a treelord... that is annoying to me. 1 or 2 BT I could deal with.. but when they are cheap enough to play 4 in 2K then there is just not much you can do about it (personally my opinions is that with the new Khorne book and all the possible free buffs (that previously costs points through batallions) it gave BT's the BT's should have gone up in points).. just play and get trashed (seriously I played winterleaf against chaos and still it wasn't enough). So opponents complaining about the small broken things in our army.. well.. too bad for them

This seems a solid list but.. a bit of a waste of an artefact. Now.. in 2 weeks time Archie will be the obvious choice (while combining the hunters) and rather easy to fit in... But this Friday. . Shall I remove something (a lot) for a Durthu ( only real option for a 3th non unique char imho) or keep it like this.
  17. Isee you point but can he teleport with them then? And will the revs keep the reroll for the charge?
  18. Not sure about the sword since the guy in the warband has a great blade, which is modelled (and named) differently than what the regular revs have. Won't the command ability will be better on hunters or dryads anyway btw ? why waste it on revenants.
  19. The sylvaneth part is great. I'm also very happy about the hero because 1. We didn't have aoe buffs that where free (Not CA) 2 We didn't have much offensive buffs in general 3. We didn't have many CA in general.
  20. So what are lists doing well in tournaments these days? Winterleaf? Gnarlroot? Dreadwood? Has anyone everytried an oaken brow list with a max size unit of revenants to sacrifice early and resummon on?
  21. But these are released at about the same time.. I think they'd have done it right away and not bothered about the rules they'll have for a few weeks. But who knows I guess you are right it's only a pdf that need changing.
  22. No. Not unless something else changes (either damage output up or points lower - considering getting a +1 W seems unlikely due to warband warscroll). And preferably the price for a box of them too - though looncurse helps. Insane price for 5 not that big models.
  23. I think you can be pretty agressive with dryads, 30 of them are quite good at taking objectives (not actually killing what is there.. but some objective defended by 10 elitish troops.. you will just get it anyway, and the -1 to hit if you string a bit towards a forest helps surviving then). IF there is a forest in the middle you don't have to string that much usually.
  24. All things being equal (which.. they probably won't) that arch revenant would be sweet for a dreadwould alpha strike. His ability, Alarielle's command ability AND his command ability on a unit of 9 hunters would put the HURT on well.. EVERYTHING.
  25. The warscroll for the warband doesn't seem that much of an upgrade, I surely hope the revenants do keep teleporting.
