  1. The thing with Slaves to Darkness is it might be named differently i.e. Darkoath and new minis might be a majority of the range, thus treated as a new army. They also might not had been super careful with wording. If Slaanesh receives same treatment as other 3 chaos gods then I would treat this as a *new* army. If they are about to update all the existing armies I'm not sure how much room is there left for big releases. Std and Slaanesh are almost a sure thing. Will there be more?
  2. If I were to guess I'd say LoN, DoK and ID won't get new battletome... this year, They will in the next not to frustrate early birds that've just bought a book (and they have a lot other, older books waiting for an update). It's just a guess though.
  3. Well, to be honest I started thinking this way some time ago. I bought Idoneth Deepkin Battleforce box at Christmas and wanted to buy a battletome but then there are all those Endless spells that ID might be getting as well... which MAY mean new battletome. In my opinion new Battletome should only be released when there are really enough changes. When there are only a few models added, why not include warscroll cards in each box? In the end I think that rules should be available and updated online on regular basis. It may take 5 or 10 years but I think it will eventually happen leaving Battletomes more of a lore and artwork books rather than rules kit. I might be wrong, yet that solution would help to keep every faction up to date. Current AoS app with warscrolls is already some evolution.
  4. Please... Each time somebody mentions tomb kings or bretonnia in the rumour thread a small panda cries somewhere in the world.
  5. If they held FEC and Skaven announcements for LVO people would cheer. The message that they are rewriting a lot of battletomes alone should be enough to make us happy.
  6. Guess I'm the only one who feels satisfied. I didn't have high hopes before the show after they showed us battletomes for FEC and Skaven. It already was much. Now it's Khorne. Well, I own a 2k Khorne army so I can't complain. To be honest I'm even happy as so far i restrained myself from buying book always feeling that Khorne has insufficient rules. Maybe now's the time. I'd only preffered new mortal model instead of Skulltaker. And I was right saying Khorne and Kharadrons will receive their own Endless spells just not called endless spells. Remember how many of you felt disgusted with that. If Khorne is getting a new battletome then it is safe to say every army is getting one. Wonder if they'll make it by the end of 2019. I don't care about the warband which is unoriginal (and that is from a guy who's main force is 3k Sylvaneth). Chaos seems to get a lot of boxed games. Wonder which armies will be in the box. Maybe StD? (The spider-robot chaos 40k thing is my candidate for model of the year)
  7. I fully understand people who own pre-AoS factions that they want and need a battletome. I just don't want to make all-in-one factions that in my opinion no longer fit. Even Fyreslayers and Dispossessed although being dwarf are now very different and don't much. Not to mention Fyreslayers and Kharadron Overlords combo. That would be a monstrosity, not a combo-faction.
  8. That is obvious. That's what the whole discussion was about - assumption that GW is moving from mono-faction battletomes to LoN and GSG combo battletomes. And I made my post disagreeing with it. I believe it's temporary. Now, we might see 1-2 more combo battletomes and sure there will be rewrites especially for fan-favourite Legions of Nagash but I believe that GW will mostly focus on mono faction battletomes in their future releases. At least that's what I want to believe as this seperation of WHFB factions was one of the things that attracted me into AoS (and wargaming). I understand that there is no room for each and every little subfaction to receive its own battletome but I won't accept pulling back as f.e. if they decided there is no need for Fyreslayers as a faction and they will be pulled into DWARF BATTLETOME - hell no. If I see they are going that direction it might be the very moment they loose a customer. I'm really, really, tired of classic dwarfs, orks, elfs, humans generic factions and AoS is a leader for me in doing exactly the opposite- creating great, original factions with a strong unique theme. EDIT: to be hinest, there might be more left-overs + brand new models battletomes which I hate to even think about - Malerion Elves and Tyrion Elves. In my opinion AoS era minis look waaay better and each time they use old models to fill the gaps in new battletomes make me sad (grots and spiderfang in GSG, almost all demons for Khorne, Tzeentzch and Nurgle, witch elves in DoK).
  9. I'm not sure we can speak of evolution of some kind. Latest factions/battletomes were combo ones but now they might return to release small factions again. And in some way they do that - Flesh-Eater Courts second battletome. They could have just implement them in the next Legions of Nagash book instead of releasing their own "small" battletome again. Then again latest battletomes might be combo style by people demand. Battletomes created of left-overs (no aversion meant) that were not intended to receive new models (LoN, BoC, Spiderfang, Skaven). Spiderfang could have been adapted into Gloomspite battletome or left abandonded. GW decided former. There are not to many "left-over" factions left - Aelves? with Free People? Dispossessed with Ironweld in addition? That's one battletome. Now we will probably receive Slaves to Darkness + Archaon + new Darkoath. That's second combo battletome. MAYBE Ogors if that counts. After that I'm pretty sure GW will return to mono-faction battletomes with Malerion aelves, Tyrion Aelves, Slaanesh and so on.
  10. @Skabnoze I can see your point but now you just fall overboard. It's not about releasing 5 ork factions and 10 elven factions. When there is a fine theme/subject GW can work on and create around it a new faction then it should IF we agree that so far this is how AoS developed. If somebody decided that Slayers and Witch Elves deserve their own faction then Skaven certainly deserve more than one combo faction. We see how distinct each clan is and don't need any creative team to flesh that out - clans are already pretty much ready. Few models here and there and you have independent and strongly themed factions. It doesn't necessarily have to canibalize each other - it can draw new people into the hobby if they see how rich and unique AoS is. There is probably a faction number that exceeding will give more bad than good. I don't know that number. Yet in my opinion if GW would turn back and now start conglomerating all the dwarfs together, all the elves together, all chaos gods together that would kill this game. We would end up with few messy alliances that would look like several drunk people meet and each throw his 5 cents into combo-faction. Model updates for that kind of factions would satisfy nobody.
  11. With this discussion few questions come to mind: how many factions are planned? Is there a plan at all? How many factions can rules team balance? How many factions can GW support (rules and models when next edition of AoS comes?). I wouldn't mind if new releases where endless but then I don't want a situation where older factions are being forgotten. I'd rather all factions, from Fyreslayers and Ironjawz to Aelves and Chaos received new rules and models every 2-3 years. I just wonder when GW will say (if they will) "ok, that's our last new faction. choose from what we offer.".
  12. I'm not convinced things are as you think. I always perceived Legions of Nagash battletome as a kind of excuse, temporary solution. It was like: "people really want some Death stuff and we have literally nothing to show them for X years. Let's throw them a battletome that will satisfy their hunger for a while". I would agree with you if new models from across all Death subfactions came with the battletome release. That would make things clear "Death is Death, united". The way they treated Beasts of Chaos I see as a decision between "do we abandon that range or at least we make a battletome?". Battletome alone increased sales of some BoC models so it was worth the effort but there was no signal as if they want to expand the idea of BoC. Except for the spells no new models were released. Gloomspite is again a different thing. In one part it's a brand new release (Moonclan) and the second part is pulling things together. If you were right then we should not see any new Death factions like Nighthaunt (which came after the LoN?). I still think that at some moment in time we will see solo Deathrattle battletome and maybe other (Vampires?).
  13. Brand new AoS factions seem more to focus around a theme/subject rather than race. Flying troops and airships, sea creatures and chaos gods treated seperetely for their theme - gore, magic, illness, seduction. Skaven are much more than just "rat people". Skyre faction fits the role of advanced tech. Moulder is a great material for mutants race like GSC in 40k. Eshin as pure assassin force. Pestilence is obvious. Especially the first two seem like an easy material for battletome and expansions. Leaving them and whole Skaven just with a battletome seems like a waste.
  14. Did anybody else had problems with accessing this site today and yesterday? As for the FEC and Skaven releases - I'm still surprised they came back yo FEC ans even gave them a boxed game. Great. As for the Skaven i still believe that they deserve more than a battletome + some spells. Each major Clan in my opinion should receive its own battletome and models. Maybe this will happen in the future. What do I want from LVO? Carrion Empire would be enough to be honest and still we should feel satisfied. But since they say there is more, than well, a sneak peak of Darkoath will be great. Not really treating Underworlds warbands as part of AoS so not really intrested in that. Just one more thing. Past Stormcast releases made me expect more from a faction update or second wave. If each year Stormcasts receive several new models, abilities, spells, battletome then I would be really disappointed if the only thing Fyreslayers or Ironjawz receive is a "3 spells and scenery" treatment. Those and some other factions have so little units that isn't even funny compared to Stormcasts or few others.
  15. I'm not sure fake. He explained why he created a second account. Time will tell if he had spoken truth.
  16. I own 1 box of Blood Coven: https://www.ebay.pl/itm/392222890150?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Box is unopened, brand new. Can send it outside of Europe but firstly need to check shipping costs. Want to ask anything? Please write.
  17. Guys, you are terrible. We so rarely have any rumours at all and yet most what a rumour monger meets at tga is doubt and accusations of sloppy guesswork. Do you want to scare any people who might know things to come? At least wait till that march/april to check if there is anything going with Seraphon. No wonder people feel offended and say they won't share any other news.
  18. All of a sudden everyone is a specialist why Idoneth are rumoured to sell poor. I'm pretty sure that if the rumour told Idoneth Deepkin sell well, the very same persons would find arguments to justify it as well. Personally I don't believe in that particular rumour seeing how live is Idoneth topic on tga, how much I see them being played on YouTube and how often I see them in top 10 at various tournaments.
  19. I'm glad they pull back orks and goblins. AoS needs to continue its current path, with non-generic factions. I believe that's the main reason it's been successful. From what we hear and see these AoS only factions are the best selling ones as well (Kharadrons and Idoneth). In my opinion generic humans, aelves and duardin should stay in the lore but shouldn't receive minis. We had hundreds of games/movies/books with averege joe humans, orks and elves. And still more are coming. It's time for flying goblin pirates and duardin driving large mechanized bastions. Not some boring militia humans and smart arogant elves in long robes. We've already had plenty of that.
  20. It surely differs among players but those two factors won't buy me into Fyreslayers. What is repulsive for me is their repetitiveness in both design and army building. I'm mostly a painter and simply don't want to assemble and paint 70-100 same looking midgets. It feels boring as hell to paint, watch and play such a humdrum army. They have a great theme, cool heroes but too little units. They will move with sales when they get some diversity - elite Kurnoth like units, or cavalery, or monsters, or something different than small naked dwarfs. The fire elemental theme can be easily expanded.
  21. Because Fyreslayers Thread on tga is 7 pages short. If this forum has any transposition into popularity or sales then there is no other AoS army in greater need of new models than this one.
  22. But Spiderfung are even worse! All those Spider Riders look as if those spiders are laying eggs not fighting. 😑There probably was a discussion within GW like "we don't want to expand on the idea of spider goblin faction so either we leave them behind or we implement them into GG without new models". Still better than nothing. Troggoths however... 😀 Yeah, they are really tempting. If a troll can be tempting that is. Not going to be popular here but I see all those not as an AoS asset but a liability -AoS would be better without them but since they already exist and there are quite a few people that would be let's say "unhappy" with deleting them completely, they are still being sold (and so far there is no replacement for them). Why I believe their existance is bad? Because they provide an option "sure they are ugly but not ugly enough that needs replacement so let's leave them as they are and integrate them with our new range for faction X" - just like with Stabbas. I'd rather new Death faction was brand new like Nighthaunt rather than be a mix of Bat Swarms, Zombies and new shiny models that will come.
  23. I've just assembled 40 Chainrasps. They are basically flying blankets with swords or clubs. Compare them to Stabbas. Huuuge difference. But ok. Glad you are happy with them, I am less. Always wanted to have at least one army from each Grand Alliance - only Destruction left for me. Maybe after all I will find a build for an army where Stabbas are absent or very few. Or maybe should wait for other releases. I've once read, maybe even on this forum, that when you choose an army for yourself you should ask yourself, whether or not you like the battleline, as most of your assembling/painting time will be focused on those guys. I agree with that. The more I am surprised that GW leaves the most common unit for GG obsolete. That would be the first thing I would change when designing GG.
