  1. I'm considering using Stabbas instead of Spears as well, firstly cos I dont think it makes that much different, but secondly because of our beloved Loonshrine. A units of 60 Stabbas will return as a unit of 30 and "Stabbas" work much better compared to spears in smaller unit sizes.
  2. Hadn’t thought about it but yeah, you could. It’s an amazing tool to have for us, the way we can manipulate the board with such a big LOS blocking piece could be quite game changing/breaking at times I think.
  3. -Insert “why not both” meme here- I quite like Fellwater Troggoths, they arnt as tanky as the Rockgut but they get the -1 to hit, 2 more attacks in combat (but 1 less rend and damage) and a good short ranged attack.
  4. It’s fantastic! And I’m looking forward to a few weeks time when we have managed to get some games in to see how our theoryhammer plays out
  5. Agree on the warscroll cards, I used to really, really not like them in the old format. But now I think they are great! And if any changes to warscroll occur, hopefully it’ll be easy enough to just write on the warscroll ourselves with whatever change happened.
  6. No, turn one moon isn’t possible Unfortunatley, as the command ability says “before you roll the dice to determine how far the Bad Moon” and you don’t start rolling until turn 2, so the earliest you can use the command ability is turn 2.
  7. What do people think about running multiple 20 strong units instead of big blobs? I remember Nick’s army that won a Heat last year or the year before did something to that effect. It probably misses out on making the most out of the buffs that can be stacked on them but uses the grots in a more block, defensive role to cover the harder hitting units. What do we think is a better way to run our little grots?
  8. The book has so much potential for different builds I’m finding it hard to work out a list I wanna stick with, I still think grot heavy with squig support is the way to go though.
  9. 240 for the models, 110 for the battalion mate. It’s nice they have them the -1 to hit mechanic like hero’s get as well.
  10. Loonkings 220 points mate, like the look of this though.
  11. On the topic of lists... I have been scribbling away thinking about it and here’s the one I have come up with and on paper I really like the look of it. Let’s hope it works when the actual book is out! What do we think? Skragrott the Loonking - General Madcap Shaman Loonboss Loonboss on Mangler Squig with that Doppleganger Cloak 40 Stabbas - Battleline 40 Stabbas - Battleline 5 Loonsmasha Fanatics 5 Loonsmasha Fanatics 5 Shroom Fanatics 5 Sneaky Snufflers 10 Boingrot Bounders 12 Squig Herd - Battleline 2000 points on the nose
  12. Looks like a wash over white to me, maybe Druchi Violet, then drybrush with pallid Wych flesh.
  13. Basically gonna use them to sit by the Loonshrine/on a backfield objective and maybe plink away some shots at range. But I see what you mean. I may end up swapping them out for a little stabba unit with the swords eventually.
  14. Errr what can I remember... (or half remember) Loonshrine recycles half the unit size of a Grot unit on a dice roll ( I assume s 4+) . There is a battalion that allows bringing back of the whole unit size. Mangler Squigs now FLY. Cave Squigs are now 2a/4+/3+/-1/1 The Sneaky Snufflers give a unit wholly with 12” +1 attack if they themselves don’t move. Loonboss on Mangler had a trait that let it retreat after combat on a 4+. Fanatics have changed. They no longer charge in your opponents turn. They can still hide in units, when they appear and charge in your turn they are attivated at the start of the combat phase before anything else. They are also d6 damage as well I think. The new mushroom fanatics block LOS if a unit has to draw a line wholly through the unit (or something like that). They also provide a buff of some sort but can’t remember. I’m sure there is plenty more.
  15. I think that’s referring to having Fellwaters behind or near Grot Netters for a sweat -2 to hit in combat against them, as well as being able to strike over the top of them
  16. Yes clearly 5 different bodies, but parts to build at least 10 different variations as of the pictures, which means with every box, we will be left with at least 5 waste squig faces, or however its seperated, at least to my understanding. Which to me is a waste. Doesnt take away from how fantastic the models are though
  17. With so many variations of how to build the squigs, it will be a shame if they do come in 5’s, it will mean a lot of waste in spare faces and squig parts wouldn’t it?
  18. Let’s be fair dual kit or not, 5 Squig Hoppers going from £15 to potentially £30, is pretty steep regardless. I’m going to get some anyway because... well just because.
  19. Kurnoth Hunters are amazing and 6 units of them would most importantly look amazing! The only variant thats been hit is the bows, the sword and scythes are still as good as ever.
  20. side note. Is it acceptable to simply not model Drycha with either option to leave both options open? Or is the consensus that the spite of choice HAS to be put onto her?
  21. Yeah lol, but I would much rather discuss it here. Facebook often gets unnecesserily heated and I couldnt be bothered tbh
  22. Unrelated question, can treesong set off Roused my magic twice? One from within the spell itself setting it off, then again following normal Roused by Magic from the nearby wood? Im getting conflicting opinion as some think as it automatically triggers Roused by magic, then it doesnt go off as it would normally when a spell is cast near a wood. My interpretation is that even though the spell immediatly sets is off, that doesnt prevent rolling the 5+ to set it off as it would otherwise.
  23. It is. But I dont have the latest packs yet so rolled with it. Still getting my head round these cards let along two whole new packs worth! No idea
  24. Yeah thats the one I was trying, and I like most of it, but I agree there are a few cards that Im definatly going to swap out.
