  1. Does anyone else think that the Wanderer style antlered aelf could be another Kurnothi?

It would be a good opportunity for them to start introducing their presence to the world.

I've attached the silhouette from the Beastgrave teasers ad my painted Skaeth's warband.

    Thoughts?

  3. "Do I like the aesthetic?"

    Yes and No!

Generally speaking I like the unarmored "running in" look.

As a model collection, I think that it all looks too samey. It really bores me that there isn't any difference in size or style.

To use Old World terminology there is enough infantry/ cavalry/ monstrous infantry/ monstrous cavalry and monster. (For my tastes)

The Vampire Hunter is definitely making me err on the side of Warhammer Quest ...

Has there been any confirmation of a Death/Vamp Hunter Warhammer Quest game coming out then? Something like a Death Silver tower?

I had a skim through the Rumour Mill but couldn't find much.

I have pretty much been an Aelf player through and through, but would totally be on the Corpse Cart [hype-train] for some zombies and/or vamps.

...Mainly zombies! ...or very few vampire leaders with zombies as core!

    Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a new army to oppose my friend's Lumineth and I've been considering Idoneth (I've been considering a lot, I'll be honest). I'm just curious. I like Allopex... Allopexes? Allopexi? And Namarti. I don't want to go eel-heavy (even though I know that's The Thing). I have to ask: what Enclave would support that sort of army best? Further, how well do you all think I would do against Lumineth?

Thanks for any answers in advance!

Edit: I'm also considering adding Bundo Whalebiter in partly to continue the nautical theme and partly as a big target to soak enemy fire.

That sounds like a fun theme!

Using the Ionrach enclave would give Bundo the Tides of Death.

    Maybe worth considering!

  6. Quick question and reflection:

I have been playing Meeting Engagements (before lockdown), and usually stay around the 1000-1250pt mark.

I play Deepkin (Dhomhain - I have always loved the Realm of Beasts) and also Fyre Slayers.

I noticed that the Fyreslayers were really able to get on to an objective and hold it, whereas with the IDK I felt that my strategy was to aggressively take objectives then retreat and retake if needed.

Is this something that you also experience, or do you use specific units for holding objectives?

  7. So I'm a little confused.

Does the Death from Above/Swooping attack ability incur impact damage?

Also, can someone please explain the tactical use for the familiars preventing disengage. I have read through the Core Book several times and can't see the application.

I haven't actually played yet. I want to paint up the warband nicely before playing, and I don't want to rush the job for the sake of it.

    Thanks in advance :)

  8. I am so happy to see the Kurnothi! :D

I love them, and I think it's the direction we needed to make the faction unique.

Like the Fyreslayers and KO's were the amplified aspects of the Dwarf armies of 8th, we needed something that wasn't Elves of Mirkwood/Lothlorien.

  9. "Season 3 can now be officially named – welcome to Warhammer Underworlds: Beastgrave! Bringing the ultimate competitive miniatures game to the heart of a living mountain in Ghur, the Realm of Beasts, we’re incredibly excited to see just what warbands and mechanics we can look forward to."

    These look awfully Wood-elfy! ;)

Aelfs in Realm of Beasts, Wild Hunters??? ...Please Kurnous!!!

  10. So are we interpreting the release schedule as all of the shown warbands are up for pre-order on Saturday?

It seems like each warband set gets their own rules/cards included. What are we guessing for prices?

I think pre-order day, I'm going to get Core book, Corvus Cabal, and Deepkin cards.

Another one looks like Aelves are coming in. Lets just hope wanderers included !

    Possibly the fabled Light Aelves?

Id' love it to be Wanderer related but at this point I really don't think we'll see much love :(

It looks like a horses mane?!

  12. I've heard a lot of mention regarding release hold-up due to China. What is the situation with that?

Has there been any news on release dates for warcry or the showing of the last two factions?

Anyone hazard a guess at costings for warbands etc?

  13. Here's a question for you all...

With the lack of spell lore update, do we think there is a possibility of a surprise battletome or [near]future plans for one?

In the same vein as Beastmen etc. - battle tome, spell lore, endless spells

I'm just thinking that Serraphon had a lore update, so it wouldn't have been too much trouble to give us one too. I interpret this as Serraphon being a lot further off.

On a positive note, I am chuffed that Wild Riders are getting a reduction in points.

Also, rules query- if you take the Wanderers allegiance abilities etc, can you still take command traits/artefacts from the Realms (eg Ghurstrike)?

@awcamawn- Loving the Shadowdancer idea! Keep me posted! :D

I was indeed wondering if the non-chaos Warbands would get access to "heroes-level" models, because without them, you only have Namarti Thralls and Namarti Thralls Icon Bearer (idem for Reavers) for Idoneth...

The Iron Golem and Untamed Beasts gangs do look like normal infantry sized units, with standard bearer or "specialist", and a chieftain / sergeant style leader (no "big heroes").

The main Crow dude in the Corvus Cabal looks like it could be a hero style character. Plus it has a larger base than the others!

...btw I'm on Das Hype Train! Corvus Cabal did it for me.

I'm also interested to see how they incorporate the order factions, specifically Deepkin! :)
