  1. I'm sure they'll make it clearer soon but I do wonder how they'll make the Darkoath supplement work as it is they have: Warqueen Cheiftain/WH event exclusive Split-eye Theddra Underworlds team Gnarlspirit Underworlds team Darkoath Savagers New: WH+ unit Chieftan on mount Horsemen Mauraders Wilderbeast That doesn't really seem like much to me? Like outside of the Wilderbeast, I can't see the army doing any heavy lifting. I'm guessing they might allow a few specifically undivided StD units to join a Darkoath army, maybe something like: Centurion Marshall Ogroid Myrmidon Ogroids Fomoroid Mindstealer Sphrinx Furies and Raptoryx Warshrine The distinctly Undivided units that also aren't "Core" to the StD army?
  2. Not showing up in the battletome straight away doesn't always mean they won't get units, I guess? Wildercorp dropped right after CoS released, basically every other WarCry units has dropped outside of the battletomes. Sneaky and smelly rats are perfect units for Warcry teams and I could definitely see them getting updates through that 😊 WarCry seems to be a lot like Killteam in that it's a fantastic game by itself but GW mostly use it now as a way to get more units out for armies as a way to guarantee more sales. I don't think that's a bad thing either to be honest, it means that whackier units/concepts that could've been unlikely to be released outside of WarCry get to see the light of day. With WarCry units getting kinda "double" sales from being used in AoS too, it should guarantee the game system's success and longevity too
  3. No GW, please. I have a wedding to pay for in a couple of months 🥵 This is exactly what I wanted with for a Darkoath update, the Wilderbeast is absolutely incredible
  4. Could the Tower be where they put the rumoured Last Life Stormcast? Maybe they're in a berzerker rage and need to be kept there until they're released to die one last time?
  5. I reckon it probably goes something like this 😅:
  6. I had a look at them on the Painting Contract Thread and they look excellent! Great work 😃 I finished off the last 20 Ghouls: Which leaves me at 60 Ghouls total and the backlog for the army entirely painted: In total my army currently sits at: Ghoul King on Terrorghiest Arch Regent on Foot Vargulf Courtier Gorewarden Marrowscroll Herald 60 Crypt Ghouls 20 Crypt Guard 10 Beast Flayers 6 Crypt Flayers 3 Crypt Horrors 3 Morbheg Knights As I also have the Underworlds team but they're gone from the Army roster (assumably to Legends), I think I'll use Duke Crackmarrow as a Royal Decapitator or a Crypt Ghast Courtier so in total I have : 2590 points of Flesh Eater Courts (so far) 😄 I need to get some army shots!
  7. Good question! I absolutely love the other new chracter units that released with this wave and can't wait to get my hands on them and I'd love to get the Throne and the Endless spells too. I'm getting married in April so all of my spare coin is going towards that but I'll definitely be picking up the new kits after that's all paid off 😅 A friend of mine has said that they've been working in their 3D printer dungeon to print something for me to paint for my FEC so I'm dead excited to see what that is too 😃
  8. They did an Arena of Battle for the 30k Primarchs and MESBG too a couple of years ago, both when new models had just dropped/were about to drop. Hilariously, Farmer Maggot and his 2 dogs won this one Usually they tilt these towards a new model that's about to come out, like they did with the 30k one with the Lion's release.
  9. The army box is done! I'm super pleased with these noble knights, to be honest I've not spent a huge amount of time on them and they look fantastic which I'm really pleased with! 😄 20 more ghouls and the pile is done!
  10. There's more to come too, which is cool! I do like these as a "What to buy after the Vanguard" as a general boost to your force for newer players rather than just jumping in a the deep end. Although it is a bit unclear if these replace Vanguards or not
  11. I finished up the Morbheg Knights, they're absolutely rad models and I can't wait to get them on the field! Photo with Grandad 😆 I also got the Varghiest done too, the model was in just the right space of being large enough that I can get to all the nooks and crannies with ease but not being too big or small that it takes me ages to paint. He only took me a few hours to paint! Ser Gregir the Small, Lord of the Marches That's the launch box done! I just need to finish Gregir's base and then get some army shots! The only models I have left in my backlog are 20 more ghouls and I'm done! I'm in the process of building those at the moment
  12. I went for brown for 2 main reasons: 1) So that it matches the Terrorghiest. Although it's a bit darker, the Terrorghiest and the Morbheg bats are meant to be distantly related lore wise and it also kinda gives a nod to that with the paintjob. In my head, it's the same way that I've highlighted the Vampiric models to be a lighter skin colour than all the ghouls and Mordants. It's probably not going to get noticed but it's a neat detail for me 😄 2) So that it doesn't clash with the colour scheme of the ghoul riding it or the base colours but makes each of those pop a bit more. I was thinking about going for black for the skin instead but I think it would've been too dark and taken away from the black bits of cloth and the hair of the ghoul. If I go to much brighter, it's likely to drown the ghoul out a bit 😅
  13. Thanks Sparxius! With the army majoritily being skin, it takes contrast paints really well and makes the process super easy. I hope you enjoy painting the Underworlds team! 😃 The first of the Morbheg Knights are done! The shield is a visual representation of a sinus headache 😆
  14. With the army box arriving a few weeks late, I pushed myself to get the Terrorghiest completed as it had been sat on my painting desk for a while. I'd gotten some basecoats down and really didn't like where it was going so I promptly sidelined it and procrastinated. When the box was about to arrive I decided to push myself and get it finished, I'm really glad I did as it's now one of my favourite models in the army! Nightsbane, Terrorghiest mount of Viceroy Offalsworth: I'm super happy with Nightsbane and the skin-scheme is how I'm going to do the Morbheg knights too as they're of the same anncesstry. I did also plow through the Cryptguard, these are absolutely fantastic models that I love painting! I did some minor conversions on one of the banners and as I built the Knights first, I had a load of helmetted heads left over:
  15. What's best in life? Crush your backlog and drive it before you Hear the lamintations of the empty sprues The Godsworn hunt are done! As are the Ravagers: 2 more units finished up for the Second Sons means my backlog gets smaller!
  16. A game that released a month ago somehow changes the terms of their deal, last minute? I'm not sure that's how it works 😅 As pointed out already, they've not licensed Fantasy, GW have left it on the table. Surely AoS is more viable (from a writers POV) because it's essentially a narrative sandbox with some existing framework? Even something like Cities of Sigmar have cities ranging from basically medieval to high fantasy. TOW is so restricted in terms of what happened where, with whom, which forces and which type of feather Kislev hats had at the time 😄
  17. Maybe a chaos Manticore? Out of left field and a bit of redesigning around the mouth but it could also be a Jabberslythe?
  18. I've gotten most of the way there with the remaining Underworlds Warriors. They're a pretty easy scheme to paint to be honest! Just some tidy ups, the eyes some stiching and the bases to go and they're done!
  19. Thank you! Contrast paints are great for vibrant colours, I think because they're so pigment heavy and they're so quick and easy to use. A win win for me! 😃
  20. Once thought to be an army formed from second sons and daughters set to inherit nothing from their parents, looking to make their own way in life. Now they are coastal raiders, running down merchants and raiding Sigmar's settlements. An army I started about a year ago after picking up some kits very cheaply and going from there. I did come test models and then promptly got taken away with the hobby butterfly and have come back to them in the last 4ish months. I picked the colour scheme based on not currently painting anything green and also the ease that I can paint it. Contrast Aeldari Emerald is rad! I paint all the rivets gold as I figure it's similar to pirate's gold teeth being signifiers of status and riches. More gold rivets is more good! 😄 So far I've painted: 10 Warriors: Knights: Ogroids: Centurion Marshall: Underworlds Sorcerer Lord: WH+ Sorcerer Lord and her bonkers brigade: In comparison to my Flesh Eater Courts, I haven't got nearly as much painted and I've had them twice as long! Such is the way of the Hobby Butterfly. I do have a whole load more stuff to paint too including: I'm also currently working through both of the Underworlds teams currently, the Darkoath team is the closest to being done although still very WIP: I absolutely adore the Darkoath look and am looking forward to picking more up, I think they fit with my raider them pretty well!
