I have mixed feelings about large bodies of bolt boyz, with bravery 5 should the unit lose even just a few models bravery 5 will punish you utmost care needs to be taken and shamans are real hit or miss with me, almost to the point where they feel like a bait because it feels awful that we choose either casting or sit next to a unit to poison for 105 points. it further feels awful because when you take the shamans to poison you almost certainly want gobsprakk for the lore spells since shamans won’t be doing it (boggy mist) boltboyz are great but almost better to take as MSU or as 6 so bravery 5 isn’t as harsh when you lose even but 2 models gutrippaz drive me up the wall, 180points with bravery 5 with 5+ certainly forces you into taking a killaboss just to stop them from fleeing and to avoid this overcosted battleline forces big yellers unless you venture down big waaaagh! In which your probably considering doing brutes. It’s a shame because I just adore the gutrippaz models but bravery 5! With a likely additional tax of a killaboss!! Why you do this to us GW on the up and up the rest of the range seems to be actually quite well and well costed for the most part

It’s been feeling like the lumineth first and second wave release situation for a while now, but at the same time it also feels like....well to quote the great bugs bunny “that’s all folks”

Yeah his innate +3 on a casting value 9 for his spell that has a ton of utility is quite good.

I don’t know about all that too soon to really delve into the topic without a book or even knowing the points for the range of models. All I know is I’m pondering the idea running big waaaagh! With potentially using gordrakk on mawkrusha, maybe gore gruntas to have access to cav and likely to try and include wardokk and wurrgog prophet but all this is subject to change depending what the point cost are for the kruleboyz models. Like most I look to include the vulture and if the model has a good rule set I’ll gladly make cuts to fit it into a list

How is everyone feeling about the partial reveal for gobsprakk. Because true off my chest I am disappointed. I was expecting a little more spell prowess, not necessarily comparable to the lord of change that this fella bested. But at least a stronger profile than what was released. I thought for sure they would get at least +1 to casting/unbinding (though maybe still possible?) with 2 spells to cast I’m worried we’re going to see GW in it’s all mighty wisdom dull out a 1 unbind maybe I was wrong to jump to the conclusion that gobsprakk bested a lord of change through spells but as it is now he had done it with his staff 🤣 I’m hoping that the full warscroll will be more enticing as we still yet to see the full combat profile and perhaps abilities/command abilities. A spell that is identical to the shamans, while it is a great spell, is rather disappointing seeing as the swampcalla shaman already does it - Generally speaking I am not a fan of copy paste from one model onto another. The other spells I’m cool with. I’m still being hopeful that in the end this fabulous model will be one worth picking up because my lord do I love this thing aesthetically and would sure love to include it in a list. just curious to see everyone else thoughts because I’m not feeling the excitement myself or from what I can see in other posts...

Is this mere speculation or is this information true in which case what is the source? Because nothing on the community webpage that I could find indicated such things. Though I would love to see more stuff about the swamp boys

Ever tried crimson rejuvenation to heal up the cauldron?

Because of this I ponder the idea of HQoBC with khainite pendent and another priest on foot to use crimson rejuvenation to help keep the cauldron in tip top shape from possible self harm in miss casts, as well as to help the +1 save bubble from bracketing sooner. all the while the cauldron can freely use the new curse prayer which is looking quite good.

How exactly does viper work? Never seen it in action and the warscroll confuses me. Does it remove only 1 model or can it remove a number of models from a unit.

Goal may to further not create restrictions on which models can be a commander - wounds wise.

Then enlighten us what exactly is the purpose of a commander? As it is we will just simply slide that ‘leader’ keyword where we please to fulfill core battalion requirements with no restrictions whatsoever meaning the whole commander and sub commander line needs not to exist as it will simply bare no restrictions by your logic.

While we use general now in 2.0, it’s believed commander will take the new meaning of general. And the general wording will be obsolete just as ward will replace DPR/FNP and the likes.

This topic has been discussed on several occasions and the consensus is that the ‘commander’ requirement is your general and not filled by any hero - hence why the sub commander wording exists. There is only ever 1 commander just as there was only ever 1 general with the few exceptions. Day 1 FAQ will rectify this.

Depending on the list and the opponents army, it might be viable to do the warlord + battle regiment. It will be interesting as most armies are looking at battle regiment + dealers choice for their second core battalion. Although like you, and the abundance of CP, entourage does look enticing. This also happens to be an advantage for DoK as morathi is a general in addition to your chosen general, which covers the need for 2 leaders (generals) - assuming this doesn’t change in the new book. Some armies simply don’t have access to 2 generals on the table so care needs to be used if those armies simply use the battle regiment core battalion. First turns will be more up in the air, or so it seems. List that do not field morathi-khaine are limited to vanguard + which ever core battalion that requires a leader (your general) if your looking to have 2 core battalions, otherwise likely to just use battle regiment for the 1 drop. Or an unlikely scenario no core battalions at all - and DoK can forego grand artillery as we don’t have those artillery pieces.

This isn’t anything new, from the second the rules were revealed, cav units became the new option to use as screens across all armies. The difficulty now is determining if this is even worth it. For some going into an MSU meta, armies will reinforce shooters whom will tear through an MSU screen. In a game state where points have increased and as such your fielding lesser models, spending 140 points for a small screen feels rather gross because shooting isnt going away but rather likely to come in stronger. Might be viable but for the most part it’s not likely worth it as shooting is in an already excellent state within the meta.
