I guess I missed something. Are there any news/leaks about a new LRL battletome and/or minis?

There were romours about a new Lumineth tome and a picture of said tome - same cover art but the red AOS 3rd edition framing.

Apart from that we have no real information but assume it will just be one infantry hero, akin to Fyreslayers, Maggotkin etc. since there hasn't been any buzz.

That "War of the Beard 2" won't get anywhere if we all start getting along!

What am I supposed to do? I used to play Dwarfs in ye olden days. And I guess there's a good reason my avatar shows the mountain Aelf with the hammers. 😉

I will however always be a loyal and ardent follower of the Archmage. And also the lady of memes, #PUDAnon.

Ok i gonna post even when i said to mods that i wont post again never because i think im pretty sure you are speaking about me.

First, plz dont be so rude and call him toxic for this commentary because its is true that he said and i really dont care or take it bad.

Also following the disscussion and as my last post(this time for real) i must point.......watch the win rate pics posted.......where is fyreslayers a 3.0 new book? Yes at the botton together goblin, skavens, slanesh etc....

So even if it is true that i have been toxic, negative, repetitive, rude etc seems i was rigth and fyreslayers book have been a big nerf to the army and rigth now they are slow, hit as wet noddles but cost as the more elite of the armys.

This gonna be my last post even if im quoted i wont post again, but i gonna read you yet because i love the rumors even if the 90% are fake.

So take care and have fun

Hey there, thanks for clarifying that you don't feel insulted. I did mean it as a light-hearted joke but I was also trying to give your perspective. I respect your opinion on a faction you clearly are passionate about - and the numbers do support your point that Fyreslayers got it worse than all the other 3rd Edition books.

I seriously hope that there'll be better times for Dwarfs/Duardin/Dawi coming. All the best to you.

  4. Dear TGA community, dear mods,

I'm aware that once again I have not exactly made friends today. But while I have understood that I'm not allowed to voice the sentiment of being evaluated unfairly, I would like to kindly ask you to not send me private messages about how wrong I was or how unacceptable you deem my behaviour to be.

It's just been one person so far, but that's more than enough, I think, given the nature of my offense.

    Thanks.

As @KingBrodd has already said, please don't antagonise other forum members by alluding to them. Whether or not it was meant in a fun way, it can be construed as toxic or belittling.

So I have antagonised someone  but other users calling me toxic and my behaviour bizzare is fine?

That is ... quite unfair and not very objective.

Sometimes it is just easier to accept you acted in poor taste, offer an apology and not repeat those actions in the future. Alternatively, you could delete the content to show humility. Finding a bizarre way to justify provoking or insulting another member of the forum makes the situation even worse. Just do the right thing, apologize and remove the comments.

I am sorry to derail the rumor thread with this post.

You can't even point out what about my original comment was supposed to be 'in poor taste' and you can't talk for the victim while I have, multiple times, offered apologies should they decide to chime in and say they felt hurt.

Let me repeat: what I typed was an accurate representation of the person's feelings about the state of the Fyreslayers faction. The only thing that was being made a fun was the rather passionate way in which they voiced their opinion. How is that explanation bizzare? Do not call me bizzare if you can't comprehend my argument and do not call me toxic if I haven't offended anyone.

But to be transparent and act in good faith I will send a private message to the person in question and ask about their feelings in the matter.

To be fair all the new battletomes have been good, each of the armies has a distinct feel and plays how they are portrayed in the lore.

I know a certain Fyreslayers player who would surely disagree and give us another small essay about them being nerfed to ruins and how they are unplayable now and that the numbers don't lie etc.

  8. Don't know why people around here would assume that it's Beasts of Chaos coming around as the great antagonist of this edition when it's Slaves to Darkness who are receiving a massive range update that expands their already quite large tome with even more stuff.

Of course I'd be happy to be in the wrong here since Beastmen of yonder had one of the most flavourful faction books ever written. I mean, it is supposed to be the Era of the Beast, but I find it hard to believe that they'll do two massive releases for Chaos.

  9. I wish there were more articles and information on the CSM Codex. Horus Heresy, at least to me, feels so incredibly boring. No mutations, ne demons, no twisted chaotic machines... Just lots and lots of Space Marines in different colours and less cool armour than either Chaos or Primaris.

I feel like Kurnoth units are just going to be the sylvaneth units for expanded game systems haha

The realm of the Everqueen has no mammals; the realm of the Everqueen needs no mammals.

I like the Sylvaneth design space settled between Aelven spirits, trees and insects. Kurnothi just don't really fit in. And let them feel and know that. Let the Kurnothi build up disappointment and frustration... and eventually turn to Kragnos and the forces of Destruction!

While there certainly is precedent for this, they've made such a point to make the multi-racial makeup of the cities a rather foundational plot element. I'd be hard pressed to think of exactly where they'd put most of the remaining lines, unless they're going to go with Malerion flexing his qualifications as true phoenix king and uniting all the "unclaimed" elves under his banner, and the kharadron book including dispossessed.

Malerion as a god seems to be slightly less evil than in WHFB, but from what we know he still uses shadowy demons, rules his part of Ulgu with an iron fist and leaves most battles against Chaos to Morathi, Sigmar, Alarielle etc.. And sl@tshames his mother. So I can't really see him rallying Phoenix Guard or Sisters of the Thorn under his 'glorious' banner. The former Dark Elf units on the other hand seem to be mostly conmected to Har Kuron and thus to Morathi. But I guess they could switch sides again.

  12. It's already a little weird that they repurposed the original OW Drycha sculpt as a generic hero while upgrading the character to an amazing arboreal mecha. I can't remember any other instances of something like that in AOS.

And it's also a little peculiar that the box for the Arch-Revenant says 'Druanti the Arch-Revenant' as if she were a named character.

Btw: can somebody recommend a feasible alternative to GW Wyldwoods? They are nice trees, but awfully expensive...

  13. There is just one to blame for Fyreslayers being treated as poorly as they are: James Workshop himself.

It's sad to see them leaving slayers who are a legendary and iconic part of Warhammer lore out in the cold like that; but I seriously see no point in blaming the Aelven factions for that. Sure, as everyone knows I'm a Lumineth fan and loyal follower of the Archmage, so you might say I'm biased.

I'd be salty as well, but blaming Lumineth and Sylvaneth comes across more as a product of (relatable) jealousy than valid point of discussion. At the moment GW don't seem to see too much merit in expanding Fyreslayers, or maybe the just wanted to streamline their rules before souping them together with Dispossessed and/or Fyreslayers towards the end of the edition.

I was hyped for my citys rework.

Now im sad,my cos army are only 100% new dwarfs and elfs. Nothing gonna get reworked and only gonna be olds warscrolls forgotten and useless inside tye new shiny new empire with luck, and a chance of these units being removed

Oh and new empire looks horrible for me,i love regular humana with armor, but hate everything that have religion or barroque and gothic, and new empire seems gonna be all around this as sisters of battle in 40k that i really hate.

I wanted new revamped empire following totalwar units and not sisters of battle in sigmar

Please don't take this as an attack of some sorts, but I'm really curious: do you genuinely enjoy anything about the current state of Age of Sigmar?

You seem to be rather disappointed with almost all recent developments.

Is there any army (except SCE) that can match the LRL number of AoS kits? Nighthaunts, Gravelords? No salt attached (this time) - this is a serious question.

Slaves to Darkness should have us beat due to all the Warcry stuff. And there's lots more to come.

Nighthaunt might have more as well but I'd need to count.

Only a hero for LRL? A little sad, but at least I have the book rework to look forward to (or fear if they get nurfed lol).

I wonder what the hero will do since they had a pretty constant theme of 3 units to an element and the basic units have some support already. Maybe something to go with the bladelords since they are on the cover and hopefully get a buff?

There is a female Bladelord heroine mentioned in a lore box in the second tome. The White Mantis or something like that. I think she could be fun/interesting.

  17. I hope they don't change anything about the spell lores because I really want to see the Archmage be able to access all five potential lores one day. I don't care if it's complicated. It would just be so epic!

With that being said I could see them changing spell lores from six to three spells. But lumping one aspect of every lore into one wouldn't make any sense since we have mages dedicated to the temple lores. And we're supposed to be Order's magic faction, so we should have ample spells.

  18. There's just no rhyme nor reason to the new battle tome covers, is there? Let's try to find a pattern:

Stomcast Eternals: big new miniature range expansion; get a new cover that shows new unit.

Orruk Warclans: big new miniature range expansion; get a new cover that shows new unit.

Maggotkin of Nurgle: one infantry hero; get a new cover that shows new hero.

Fyreslayers: one infantry hero; old cover.

Idoneth Deepkin: one infantry hero; new cover that shows old hero.

Nighthaunt: new hero; new named character; new unit; old cover.

Daughters of Khaine: one infantry hero; new cover that shows old female gigachad deity that always gets her way; bow down to the queen b**** of the Mortal Realms.

Skaven: one infantry hero; old cover.

Sylvaneth: new named character; three new units; no new infantry hero; old cover.

Lumineth: unknown additions to the army; old cover

Slaves to Darkness: big new miniature range expansion; new cover that shows a crest or a symbol of the faction.

I will not feel bad when the Lumineth are invetiably worfed and nerfed by whatever faction GW decides to raise to Space-marine levels of competence. Why? you might be asking yourself as you're reading this post: because they killed Arkhan. Now, I can handle the destruction of the Usurper Nagash, may Settra's Chariot Wheels run him over, but Arkhan? loyal, dependable Arkhan? The lich whose arguably the only Tomb Kings character left in the setting (Neferata doesn't count because her rules were in the Vampire Counts book) with a plastic model? That makes this son of LONG LOST NEHEKHARA!!!! angrier then Khorne after a Slaanesh champion murks one of his daemons.

Wouldn't those who always remained loyal to LONG LOST NEHEKHARA applaud the fact that Arkhan was vanquished by the holy Light of Eltharion since the Black decided to turn his back on Khemri and perverting its creations in the name of the dirty, digusting, hubris-riddled traitor; he, whose name shall indeed not be named but does not really matter since he got his bony behind kicked by THE GLORIOUS ARCHMAGE?

Sometimes but even then it can feel like just allies of convenience ready to break their accords with the unnatural Stormcast immortals who break the cycle of life:

    image.jpeg.783973c2d7142db60b5b178c5eb06609.jpeg

(And TBF, the abandoning thing keeps getting brought up to bite Alarielle, Sigmar and Grungni in their collective godly arses as it has caused some groves to go rebel against their mother creator, all kinds of tribes to turn against the God-king and go either chaos or literally haunt him as NightHaunt and why the vast majority of duardin give Grungni the stink eye)

But yeah, it’s pretty clear the writing from then to the current lore that Wanderers are just in a void of “kinda useful” but don’t fit anywhere and aren’t gonna be pushed for sales when Revenants, Spites and even possible future Kurnothi can do everything they do but better and literally be apart of nature(Lumineth even take up the “aelves attuning to nature” niche making Wanderers even more redundant).

Though for me that fits because even in the world-that-was origins they were gonna get kicked out of the forests by the tree spirits but “fortunately” winter rolled round which put the spirits to sleep and left them super vulnerable to an greenskin Waaagh that nearly made it to the Oak of Ages if the Asrai didn’t return and save them. This convinced the tree spirits they needed them to shore up that weakness.

But now that’s not even a worry anymore since Sylvaneth are full elemental spirits able to adapt to literally any environment.

Chamon has Sylvaneth with metal in their bark that wield weapons of steel and grow metallic iron-oak tree forests for their duardin allies to shape into fortresses.

Aqshy has ash forest Sylvaneth with smoldering charcoal bodies that burn their enemies who threaten their eternally burning woods.

And every realm has frost Sylvaneth that excel in the ice and wintry deep snows. The Winterleaf glacial tundras of Ghyran and the vicious Spite-revenants near the frozen forests of northern Thondia in Ghur especially noted for being able to scurry and swarm after trespassers in chest-deep snow they lightly run over the top of and freeze their victims alive in magic ice rivers as a warning to others.

Edit: for added insult on that Wanderer general having to give orders outside the Living city thing. I like to imagine it’s the Rootking Duardin who act as messengers to the Sylvaneth authorities just to show off their closer ties than with the aelves. xD

You seem to be kind of in the know on Sylvaneth and their lore, dear Herr Baron. Might I ask if anything was ever written about Sylvaneth in Hysh? Might be interesting neighbours for my Ymetricans. :)

At first glance i thought the spear could be Tomb Kings related. It just has that vibe to it imho. No way that could be right, right?

I think the small spikes on the sides underneath the blade don't fit Leagues of Votann nor Tomb Kings, but they very much fit Seraphon.
