Either/Or

Excited to see so much nice looking stuff coming. Makes me happy I bought into Lumineth-a nice core of Vanari units but no elementary yet. It is really looking like you could build an army not far off from an old school High Elf list or you can go full tilt AOS weird, or something in between. The wind spirit itself looks very cool, but the swirly stuff , though fitting this model better than others it hass been used for, feels a bit tired. I might pick one up but perhaps remove 50% of the swirl to tone it down a bit. Realistically I think I like the Mountain spirit better, but I like that we will have both and I think they each capture their element well. I am curious what the bolt thrower will do that the sentinels don't already do. Perhaps better at killing big targets?

Move-shoot-move or a special ability to hamper enemy movement from their shooting would fit the light Cav motif. Their mounts seem like they would negotiate bad terrain better than horses.

Agreed-the speculating is fun. I hope we are getting a whole additional temple and not just a hero, but even a non-named fighty hero would be good.

If you google camel cavalry there are a variety of saddle styles with many showing the riders legs in a similar positions as the preview, though also a number in the style referenced above.

Thank you, that helps. I am new to AOS, though have played a lot of (most) other GW games. It’s helpful to get an idea of how much is right for each element as AOS feels like a bit of a different animal from the others. The Dawnriders seem important, but as you said it sounds like there is a sweet spot unless you were perhaps going all-in on a cav list or something.

I am looking to make a storage box per Duncan’s video. What depth would folks recommend to accommodate dawnrider lances of a mountain spirit?

Are two units of 5 or one of 10 sufficient as a baseline for a non-teclis list? Are 15-20 a better place to be?

Definitely looks like the rider in the preview is sitting higher up relative to the barding as illustrated by this picture. I love the interplay of classic high elf stuff to things that feel strange, like the cow thing, Sphinx creature with Teclis, or this.
