  1. I think it is a fine army and you will probably do fine. If you want to make it more competitive i would swap out the soulrender and thralls for 2 more sharks (and turn all 4 of them into harpoon sharks) and 3 more ishlaen guards + turing Volty into a king. But let us know how the army fares in the league
  2. You have the foundation to build a great list. I have posted a list in a battlereport on page 95. That is one of my takes on a good IDK list
  3. Its a great tool for tournaments. Even if you know your army you will forget stuff so this is a great way to remember everything

  5. That is true and I will definitely be trying the Akhelian Corps but for right now I am trying to get a few more games in with the non Battlion list first. Just to see how it fares against the top meta.

  7. Of course i would love to dictate who gets the first turn but i dont feel like i need a battalion for my army to function better. on the contrary i actually feel like this army would loose some of its punch if i did so but maybe thats just me.
  8. Thanks and I will. No doubt it will be a problem. It was here against LRL, but for the most part i am not that worried who gets the first turn and in a lot of ways that is why I like this list. Its build to function against almost anything (except MW spam). My focus when I build it was really to counter the shooting meta and ignore the magic meta, but it seems to function pretty well against anything. You just gotta have your 12" bubble in mind all the time. The king is there to give out the rr 1's TH bubble and to negate a round of shooting. The scryer does what the scryer does. The Ishlaen guards are my tanks. They have stood up against Flamer shooting and Terrorgheist charges so far. They are SO durable it is almost laughable. The sharks shoot down screens or stray chars, stops units from piling and are really good on the charge. The turtle gives the +1 save bubble, shoot down screens and stray chars and is extremely dangerous on the charge. Especially against monsters.
  9. I dont think so. That gimmick has always been there and they havent done anything about it yet but we will see.
  10. Yeah. The whole idea with the cloud of midnight in this list is to negate a round of shooting and get up and personal with the opponent.

  12. Time for another Batrep guys and gals. This time its my IDK list vs. LRL First off i want to apologize for the stand ins. My Turtle is in the mail and i am rebasing my army at the minute so there will be a lot of bases and not so many figures in this one. Hope you will still get a kick out of it though. They move up and takes middle and primary objective. In the shooting phase I use cloud of midnight so only 1 unit can shoot and it kills 2 Ishlaen guards. IDK: I fly my Ishlaen guards up to sit on all 3 objectives, My sharks in position to shoot, my Turtle up to buff and stupidly my King up to charge. (he should have been held back inside the boat if I had a redo) Lastly I bring my 2 sharks and the scryer in because m opponent gave me 2 units of Sentinels to charge. In the shooting phase i shoot down 5 Sentinels and 6 Wardens. I charge my unit of 2 sharks, 3 ishlaen guards and 3 sharks into wardens and Sentinels. I kill the last 4 Wardens and, with the 2 sharks, I kill an entire unit of Sentinels and trap the other unit due to netting. 7-4 IDK Round 2 (far left objective is primary) LRL They keep blasting me with magic. Kills off the King and chips of wounds on all other units exept 3 eels and the scryer. They get the rest of their nonsence off including making my turtle and my net Sharks stupid 10 Wardens and the dawnriders move to the middle, 10 Wardens move to the right objective and the 10 Sentinels move back. All the shooting kills 1 Net shark and charges from the 20 Wardens kills another 2 sharks and 2 eels. Sharks kills 15 wardens in total. 1 of the units of sharks runs away but the other 2 units makes their battleshock rolls of a 1 or a 2 to stay one the board. IDK Ok. Now I need to kill things and do it fast. my 1 eel in the middle switches positions with the 3 on the left and the rest of my army stay put. Shooting thins out the wardens bringing them down to 1 pr. unit. The combat phase finishes them off. 12-6 IDK Turn 3 (primary objective is in the middle) IDK My Turn is pretty straight forward. I move my sharks and 3 eels in to the middle of the board, moves the scryer close to the 3 eels and let the 2 units of 1 eel stand on objectives. My turtle and my net Shark are still stupid so they just hang around doing nothing. In the shooting phase i shoot everything im allowed to shoot with at the Dawnriders and afterwards charges them. They die and I collect max points. LRL My opponent calls it here because he cant come back on points. 19-6 IDK Super fun game and this was without a doubt my biggest test with this list. The MWs can really do a number on these guys, but its nice to see that the speed , shooting and CC dam output + the cloud of midnight can still cause armies to many problems to handle.

  15. it is SO good. I have played a couple of games and it is really hard for anything other than MWs to get through. Also remember if you are within 3" of your boats you get a 6+ aftersave.

  18. I had another game today with my Tanky IDK list. Unfortunately i did'nt remember to take pictures but you'll get the battle report anyways. Terrorgheist killed 3 Ishlaen guards and 2 sharks and did some damage to his Terrorgheist Turn 2: FEC: FEC got the double turn, He got all his spells off once again, this time only 3 extra attacks on the other Terrorgheis. This guy teleported onto my other flank and charged in. In total he killed 3 Ishlaen guards from 2 units, and killed all my sharks with harpoons. I managed to kill his flayers and put 11 wounds onto first Terrorgheist and 4 wounds onto the second Terrorgheist. IDK: First off my boat started the turn by killing off the first Terrorgheist and by the end of the turn i had killed the second Terrorgheist and 10 Ghouls. Turn 3: IDK: I got the double this time, not that i had much use for it, and i moved forward. My 2 remaining sharks did manage to kill a unit of ghouls, so at this point my opponent has 14 ghouls and his 3 foot heroes left. FEC: He buffed and teleported 1 of his ghoul kings up to try and remove me from one of my objectives but because it was turn 3 i killed him before he could get a chance to hit me. Turn 4: FEC: All the way through the game we traded double turns. Once again he buffed a ghoul king, teleported him and wiffed completely against 2 Ishlaen guards. In return i killed him IDK: I tabled my opponent and took the Major win Really fun game with a lot of models dying. Also nice to see that this list can stand up to an alpha list. And really glad i got the win because I made SO many positioning errors. Gotta clean that up next time I play

  20. Leviadon is 340 but otherwise it looks fun. let us know how it plays. BTW. Shooting snakes can actually be quite good now.
  21. The Sharks did a lot of damage + the turtle can do some work. The shooting gives the army a lot more flexibility then i have ever had with my IDK before. You wont run into battleshock problems as long as you are within the Generals bubble. That is the reason for the command trait. The only drawback is that you have to be within the 12" bubble for everything to work so you can get into some objective problems depending on the battleplan. The other problem you will have with this list is magic damage output and mortal wounds in general ie. Seraphon :D. But i think it will have a decent chance against most of the meta. This i still have to test though. I will post you guys some more battle reports when i get the opportunity to test it against som other top armies

We used proxy models so the arkhan beast is my turlte, the megaboss is the blue scribes and the creature caster daemon prince is some other char that I can't remember the name of for the life of me) Battle for the Pass in the realm of life. (5-5) IDK: I was given the fist turn. I moved up, still staying in my turtle bubble, tagged the 2 neutral objectives and shot at the pink horrors. With my 6 sharks and turtle combined i did 20 wounds. He saved 4 of them and used a destiny dice to bring back horrors and rolled a 6. Tzeentch: In his magic phase he used his teleport to move the 20 pinks 9" away from me, summoned the bridge and used it to get the rest of his army close to me. 20 horrors, 3 units of flamers, an exalted flamer and the big bird shot at me and killed 3 Ishlaen guards and wounded 2 more. Turn 2: (10-6 Tzeentch) Tzeentch: He got the double turn and ended up spending his magic phase (i popped the cloud of midnight on my king here) and shooting phase only killing 3 Ishlaen guards and 2 sharks. He charged his unit of pinks into my sharks and my king. IDK: My scryer and 2 net sharks came on this turn. All shark shots went into the pinks and the turtle shot and killed the exalted flamer. I charged everything into flamers and horrors killing most of them and the turtle did som mortal wound biting on the Bird. Turn 3: (15-11 Tzeentch) IDK: I got the double and here the game was over. Still locked in combat I used my CPs on the turtle, giving him more attacks, shooting at everything i could and ending up killing everything but a character, 2 units of brims and a unit of flamers. Tzeentch: He ran away, trying to take as many points as he could Turn 4: (20-20) Tzeentch: He scored some more points but that was it IDK: I tabled him and took all points Turn 5: (29-20 IDK) Overall a really fun game. He chose this list because we wanted to see how the new IDK would do against the Shooting/magic meta. Next up i want to try it out against LRL and Seraphon.
  23. Just played a game with this army agaist a shooting heavy Changehost. I tabled him in turn 4. We played Battle for the pass. What do you guys think of this army? any changes you would make.?   24. you guys think we could see some namarthicentric armies with the Leviadon and Eidolon giving the thralls 2+, 2+ in CC? And how competitive do you think the sharks will be now?
  25. you wont regret it @Duncan Not only is it fun to paint, it is a blast on the battlefield. I have never had a doll game with my cabbage
