That would be "crusade" in 40k. I hope we don't get too much ally stuff in the book. Not that i mind options, i just don't want to play a mixed GAOrder/CoS force and i'd rather see all effort put into the SCE tome benefit SCE rules and (internal) balance.

Yeah, I believe some people like the idea of mixed armies. I get it and it is sure nice to have options, but personally I doesn't feel like mixing with CoS. I just want to be able to field my demigods in shining armour. I hope, that older models still will be relevant, and we can get more elite version of sce battletome.

  2. Their mighty Stormkeeps are bonded more deeply to their host cities, and the Stormcast often travel and fight alongside Dawnbringer Crusades – great caravans of exploration, seeking to found new cities.

Dawnbringer crusades? Just like @lare2 said, it sounds like hint for some new allegiance abilities. Maybe deepstrike will be bound only to new models? It sound like there will be more synergies with stormkeeps. Maybe stormhosts will be linked to cites, like tempest lords to tempest eye etc.?

Someone scouted the Annihilators Warscroll and it looked like 3 Attacks 3+/3+/-1/2 which is basically Retributors with +1 attack.

    With a 2+ Save.

Thats bar any special rules they will undeniably have.

They either need to make Annihilators very points heavy and/or other Paladins cheapter otherwise or increase the other Paladins output by a lot.

Imo Retributors need like 4 Attacks base with their current warscroll to be viable for 190 per 5.

Decimators should have like their 2“ ability but with 2 Damage, minimum 2 attacks.

Protectors 5 Attacks base, maybe rend 2.

But to be honest, as it stands now, they are outdated by Evocators so hard its not even funny.

    Paladins were:

    Retributors - the generalists

    Decimators - anti horde

Protectors - anti shooting / monster

and Evocators - better against everything and wizards for like 30 points.

    Make Paladins great again!

This is precisely what I have been thinking about. Annihilators looks just like straight up better retributors. Tbh I think msu for annihilators will be 5. In older starter boxes we also get only 3 of retributors and evocators. I really hope we will get some updated warscrolls, because it is hard for me to imagine what point drop would make me to take retributors over annihilators.

I think (hope?), that some of the older models will get to save update (such as paladins) because in 2ed there was no such thing as 2+ save, and atm we already have Kragnos and annihilators. Maybe with 3ed. Sce will be at last armoured demigods they supposed to be? I'd love if every paladin would have finally its niche (just like they were intended to): annihilators to be the tanky ones, decimators - hordy ones, protectors for monster hunting and retributors versatile ones. Gw, please don't let us down.

  4. What do you think guys, gw plans to reimagine sce with this so called reinforcement? Are all older models are about to be squated and irrelevant? I hope not. I think those all new models look amazing and I sure know, how I'm spending money in June, but I really hope we would get some updated warscrolls for older models. I would be really disappointed if gw wouldn't do anything with other chambers. It's been some time since my poor paladins and liberators got some love.

So this is what I'm looking at following the suggestions

    Leader:

Endrinmaster in Dirigible Suit - 190

    Battleline:

    (3) Endrinriggers - 100

    - Rivet gun and Saw

    (3) Endrinriggers - 100

    - Rivet gun and Saw

    (10) Arkanauts - 90

    - 1x Skypike, 1x Light Skyhooks, 1x Aethermatic Volley Gun

    Behemoth:

    Ironclad - 480

    - Great Volley Canon

    Total: 960

In 1k game I would drop Ironclad and take frigate. IC is great but it is half of your army and it’ll bring a lot of attentions. Moreover your board presence is very small.

so, if you take frigate in place of IC you’re left with 300 points, and from this point you are able to take more arkanauts, riggers, or heroes. i would go with navigator (dispel, good abilities and powerful artefacts) or Khemist for some ground support or spell in the bottle. Also, I love thunderers, you should try them.

And if this is too unreliable for you, you can always take a lord aquilor instead of the relictor. It’s 70pts more and it costs a CP but then there is no chance of failing anymore. And he’s more survivable in the age of d3 mw slinging across the board.

Warhammer: Age of d3 across the board. Has nice ring to it.

Talk with your oponent even if you play Matched games only!!  With some luck, people will be used to the Hero builder and maybe we will see some type of deep  hero customization in AoS 3.0 (one can dream...).

That would be nice. I can imagine some wacky combinations already: Admiral on terrorgheist! :D

It would be cool if the Admiral could be give a ship as a mount

Well, it was written you can take companion. So gunhauler sound “reasonable”. Even if not in matched play, I guess you can do it open play. Just for giggles.

I‘ve seen a lot of SCE pity and bitterness the last few months (including myself 😄)..and I know its just 10pts less mostly, but I really appreciate the extra possibilities now. Several of my lists feel finally „complete“. Without having to make painful cuts. I haven’t really used ext. Artefacts eitherway to much. Feels like a new playground untill we get back to demigod status (new BT) as we should be lorewise ☺️

I feel you. I know that  new tome would be better, but I’ll take what I got. I totally agree with list “completing” part. Maybe our warscrolls are not up to the date, but at least I feel like I can have some fun once again. I know that we’re being sacrificed on GW money altar, but right now I’m feeling like I have something for exchange. It can’t be always so bad, it age of SIGMAR after all.

Been playing this since the start of 2nd edition,,though you have to use Hurricanes instead of Longstrikes and I use a Knight Zephros instead of an extra Venator.I only played 3 games with it in my group but won all 3,,rather easily even.Retired the army at the time though since Moonclan came out and I switched to them. The thing is,,once players know to shoot the Aetherwings off as soon as they can,,the army gets picked off pretty easily..also getting double turned is a deathnell,,you just dont have the wounds to deal with that. However single drop allows you to make your opponent go first so that helps alot,,just start with your onboard stuff hiding on board edges and out of sight if they have shooting.
I know most prefer the Longstrikes, but im here to say that Hurricanes with 10 shots per model, and rr 1s to hit, wreck most anything you point them at..as long as there is at least one bird alive, you usually can cockblock a charge on them too,,then use the Auquilor to port them to safety when ya can.

Its a very fragile build and rather nailbiting to play with, but now that it looks like I have around 110 pts to play with, ill probably throw it down in the near future.

I was thinking about hurricanes for some time. Volume of shots are something to be reckoned with, and we still have around 100 point to do something with them. List with either raptors looks awesome and fun to play, but I guess it is fragile and kind of one trick pony. I will give it a try nevertheless. It’s just a game, isn’t it?

It's good that the Vanguard Auxiliary Chamber can now be played under 2000.
But the real problem is that not only does it happen 2 years later after the BT has been published, but that it's also the only big format one to be available.
There should be in all BT, several battalions that can be played at a 2000 points limits, since it's the official one used in tourneys,

I couldn’t agree more, maybe it will be changed with new tome (someday when it is released), let’s just be happy with this little spark of joy.

I ordered missing vanguards already. This is how I’m going to get rid off Tzeentch. Sigmar be praised. I don’t even feel like having new tome at the moment. Vanguards are usable!

Sorry I think you misunderstood me slightly. These points won’t be in the ghb, they’ll be released in a separate faq. That’s why should take them with a hefty pinch of salt. We never really get leaks from errata's or faqs, this just looks like someone’s wish list to me.

Ow, I understood, and I agree. I might be just over enthusiastic. We are all allowed to dream. :D

I’d take those point drops with a pinch of salt personally. These would be in the faq post release. I wouldn’t start planning around them until the faq drops

You might be right, it could be faqed. Nevertheless we still can play some friendly games with all those discounts. Maybe it get even cheaper? Or utterly useless after faq. Who knows? :D

  15. @Maturin @Nizrah thanks! Disabling LoC is always my priority, unfortunately it’s so much easier with KO. I was hoping there are some viable strategies outside of anvilstrike and starcast. I’d love to shoot his treacherous *** back to the warp, but I’m afraid I don’t have enough balistas and longstrikes. I hope, that with some point changes I might add some hammer-power. I guess, that without new tome we really have only two viable strategies.

  16. @Maturin ow, i love skyborne slayers. It is great battalion. Thanks for suggestions.

Can you guys suggest any good 1500 list against tzeentch. Friend have bunch of horrors and flamers accompanied by Lord of change. You know, fun stuff. I was thinking about skyborne battalion accompanied by celestant prime, but then I have no magic defence. Do you think there is a point in trying to protect against tzeentch magic? My experience is that when tzeentch wants to cast something sooner or later it is cast. Moreover I struggle to get behind horrors. Until I manage to get past them I burn in inferno and I am ready for anvil of apotheosis. I might not be the best general, but my only army that have any chances with tzeentch are KO or broken petrifiex elite.
