  1. So are people certain that we are not getting more for the Skaven? I keep thinking that plans were likely changed due to the S2D release and the Skaven was shown off in place of somthing else. I would personally assume there is more to this release than the single hero but also not much more than that. I feel like if it were a big release they would be able to show more with the promise of more to come. Instead I am imagining something like the night haunt release... a hero or two and a new unit.
  2. Finally our tastes diverge! 😦 Okay I am totally on board with liking the Ogroids... but I absolutely love my fae fliers with bows and insect riding elves! Even though I tend to prefer the full on Ent-Styled sylvanth. I personally think the inclusion of these units further blends the concept of spites, revenants and tree folk. Also Lady of the vines has me forgetting all about Chaos for moment! Still shocked we didn't get Kurnothi even though @Whitefang had already foretold us of this fate! And it appears we are back on the same page again 😅
  3. If I go 40k Ogroids are absolutely getting proxied in probably as Torments but Torments will likelt end up being Chaos spawn in AOS. I will make a medieval themed army based on Fallen Angels and use as much AOS as I can. Hahaha! Make sure to share those Painbringers as they sound awesome!
  4. Nothing surprised me... except the absolute amazing quality of the models! Hashut help me! I am tempted by 40k! I just can't decide between Chaos Knights, CSM and Biker Dwarf Ladies with cool goggles!!! Although I feel like a mixed CSM, S2D and Knight army would likely be the only way I could afford and enjoy 40k I am not too worried though because I feel like tomorrow will bring me back to Age of Sigmar... With some plants and rats! 🌲🐀
  5. I still insist that Warcry is the best avenue to release Maneaters, make 3 boxes of 3 Ogors based on the different realms and the Eightpoints. Give them unique rules in warcry and a shared warscroll for aos.
  6. My unrealistic but still grounded hopes for Warhammer Fest: 40K: Chaos Space Marine full reveal. Major Squat preview featuring an example of their vehicles and tech. World Eater hint! I want Empreror's Children more but hints indicate Khorne Flakes for Breakfast and Rock and Roll for dessert. Kill Team: New Boxset featuring something more creative like the rogue trader set. Actually a direct sequel with Elucia Vhane’s crew fighting Exodites on some far flung world would be really awesome. Warcry: New Box featuring Horns of Hashut and Chaos legionaries with the Centurion marshal as an additional hero for some sort of new hero based scenarios. I also want this set to come with a cool ziggurat terrain piece. Also the promise of more Chaos to come! AOS: Sylvanth and Skaven: I am hoping and expecting a dual box with an emphasis on Spites and Eshin. Ideally I would want Kurnothi and a massive skaven range refresh but I am trying to keep realistic expectations. A reveal for the rest of the tomes between now and S2D listed and some hints as to which will get more attention in terms of releases. I am extremely hopeful but skeptical that this will include Beasts of Chaos, Ogors and Seraphon with major model releases. Obligatory same day reveal of Malerion and his trusty crew of Silent Chaos Dwarf Vampirates! Horus Heresy: I think they will just showcase the boxset, but I hope they indicate some more of the cross over between 30k and 40k. Custodes, Sisters of Silence, heck this might be a cool way to introduce some new Imperial guard! In essence just enough info to believe that this game will not be Space Marines the game.
  7. The sad reality is the most controversial reveal for Sylvaneth would be a lack of Kurnothi models 😢 Although Spites on Aphid Cavalry is my new favourite unit and I will maybe need to make a fae fighting force immediately!
  8. I am inclined to agree with this. I am personally expecting the new warcry box to feature Horns of Hashut, Legionaries and the Marshall... in which case I might get them all because I am terribly weak willed.
  9. I think that we will see a collectors box prior to the release of the army... kind of like the Black Templar or Chaos Knight boxes in 40k.
  10. Had it just been the initial image and maybe the Demon Prince warscroll... but there is a lot of stuff they probably would not have let leak in that. But now it is like:
  11. I have been spending the day painting my ogors and this comment made me so happy.
  12. And the leaks just keep coming! Morghur is a giant possessed Chaos Space Marine confirmed!
  13. I feel like the 'or' before Malefic talons just has to be a typo. Can a demon prince not use it's weapon and claws in a fight?
  14. Good catch I was so blinded by Eternus' beatuy to notice the rest. I am wondering if the Legionnaires will be an alternate build for Chose or maybe a part of the upcoming Warcry set alongside the Horns of Hashut? The Centaurion Marshall might be an odd fit for my army... I think it will tie into the Legoinaries which might make it an include if I choose them over the Chosen. Otherwise the Chosen work better for my army visually and aesthetically.
  15. Waking up to new rumours: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Slaves to Darkness: Eternus is exactly the Chaos Lord I have wanted in terms of rules and model. Love the emphasis on mortal followers of Be'Lakor as I feel like that might be developed into the lore of my army. Horns of Hashut is the biggest troll tease of all time! I honestly was expecting and hoping for 3 Chaos Dwarf warscroll and we get zero. Ogroids look fantastic and have really fun rules. Maybe I will try and limit myself to Eternus, Chosen and Be'Lakor to round out the rest of my army/collection...Ogroids will likely sneek into at somepoint down the line... and a Mindstealer Sphiranx. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nighthaunt: New Nighthaunt rules are amazing they seem so ghostly... vanishing and reappearing, denying inspiring presence, army-wide ward saves, causing enemies to freeze in the spot from fear, finally a mortal wound which makes sense for ghosts as well. I haven't gone over the warscrolls yet but I am thinking NH look way more fun to play against now. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gloomspite: Possible new Gobo release bring it on, with the new rules of this edition I feel like the Badmoon will be so much more well thought out!
  16. Here are my initial hopes based on Marks, New Legions and New Units, this is not meant to be a prediction nor even a best case scenario. Rather just my thoughts based on first impressions: Marks: I really hope that the mark of the general opens up Coalition options for the god specific armies. Conversely God Specific armies can use coalition allies but only if they share the same mark as the Slaves to Darkness unit. Maybe allow an undivided general use Beasts of Chaos Coalition units. Damned Legions Archaon: Host Of The Ever Chosen/Knights of the Empty Throne: New Version of Host of the Everchosen! I hope when the big cheese is not selected the rules become Knights of the empty throne. Although I suspect that the Knights of the Empty throne will fall under one of the other listed Legions. Be’lakor: Legion of the First Prince/Despoilers: The new version of Legion of the First Prince. It will be a little annoying having the majority of war scrolls in separate tomes. I also expect that it will be hit the most with FAQ with the successive release of god specific tomes, but it is good to have these rules explicitly featured in one of the Tomes. I think that it will have more rules for using Mortal units mixing Legion of the First Prince with Despoilers. If it is truly a Despoiler army and not Legion of the First Prince, then I would expect Demon Coalition units. Champions of the Chaos Tribes: Ravagers: My personal favourite Legion. Mortal focused Legion with an emphasis on rallying tribes to a plethora of Chaos champions. Focus on more traditional Chaos Units and hopefully coalition with Beasts of Chaos. Masters of the Dark Arts: Cabalists: Updated legion with an emphasis on unit Sacrifice and expert casting. I feel like there will be some Endless Spell benefits. Hopefully I can build an alternate list around my Gaunt Summoner. Since this is my hope, and not realistic expectations, I hope they can have Skaven Coalition units. Iron and Hatred: Chaos Dwarfs: Very hopeful that this will be a subsection with benefits to Chaos Dwarfs. Maybe it can have a special rule to allow the army to ally with Hobgrots as a cheap chaff unit. This could also be the ranged subsection for Slaves to darkness. Ogroids Unleashed: Despoilers/New Subfaction: I could also see this being the legion focused on Monsters like the Fomoroid Crusher and Mindstealer Sphiranx. Might get some of the old Despoiler rules for monsters. The Lost and the Damned: Idolaters/New Subfaction The priestly side of Idolatry or possibly a completely new Legion. I do not actually know what this section will be but I can imagine from the damned portion of the title that it is tied to priests, chaos spawn or demon princes. Eightpoints: Knights of the Empty Throne/Idolaters I can imagine this being home to either the Varanguard or the Cultist rules for Idolaters. Varanguard rule the lands while Archaon is away and Warcry being set in the eight points. Personally I would like it if it was a subsection focused on the heavily armoured knights, chosen and warriors. Chaotic Units: - Eternus, Blade of the First Prince: Demon prince and named hero, granted princedom by the Sorcerer's power of Be’Lakor. I hope that they have a unique model and rules. Possibly that larger model in the leaked image that still has not been shown clearly. It would be nice if they filled a similar niché as Bastian Carthalos, a powerful but decently priced model to lead in the place of the super expensive centrepiece models. - Ogroid Theridons: Big bruiser types, I hope that they make Dark Oath/Cultist themed armies more powerful and self sufficient. I of course will go against the synergies to throw in some extra muscle because I think they will look awesome! - Centaurion Marshal:* Presumably a Cavalry styled mutant champion related to either the Chaos Legionaries and/or Sons of Hashut. Ideally a Bull Centaur Chaos Dwarf! I hope they are a Bull Centaur Chaos Dwarf hero with synergies to both the following units. Alternatively, it can be a leader for the Chaos Cultists and an important hero level character in warcry. - Chaos Legionaries* Hopefully a chaos dwarf version of the French Forigen Legion fighting for Archaon in some form of exchange with the dark lord presumably for Varanite. Would love it if they had an option between mid ranged blunderbuss styled weapons or direct melee options. I think they should also have the ranged attack of hobgrots. Alternatively, I would love it if they were an alternate build for chosen… maybe with the Chosen focused on working towards apotheosis and the Legionaries striving towards becoming Varanguard. - Horns of Hashut* Bull Centaur unit with horns for powerful charge. A middle state between Marauder light Cavalry and heavier Chaos warriors. An emphasis on powerful charges and his damage. Alternatively, if they are just a lone Warcry Warband, I hope it contains a ton of Fanservice. Put in a female Chaos Dwarf, Bull Centaur and heck some kind of baby Helcannon. *I can imagine all three of these being featured in the upcoming Warcry Box.
  17. I am honored and will gladly participate! I have just begun to settle into a new job, so sadly I am still learning to balance between my hobby time and new job. But now that I am getting the hang of things I am starting to mess around with my narrative and some painting again... So it might be a few weeks but I will happily send you some of my fragmented lore. I think you'd really appreciate the lore I have co-developed with a friend for his Tzeentch Lord Chronomaster, that lives simultaneously at the beginning (AOS) and end (40k) of time under curse of a cruel Lord of Change. As for my own army it is still a tale of light (SCE) and dark (S2D) fought in the harsh lands frozen land of the free Ogor tribes!
  18. Oh brilliant idea on the Chaos Elves... too bad I spent all my reacts by lunch today hahaha!
  19. I think the inclusion of Chaos Dwarves are a blessing in disguise (I have made this argument a few times)... Have a classic army with a small but loyal fanbase and tie it to one of the biggest and most popular factions. Chaos Dwarf fans will be able to purchase and collect new models and convert some cool Chaos monsters into their faction's aesthetic. Slaves to Darkness fans get a diversified model line, hopefully with new avenues of play (maybe shooting and warmachines). Then based on the sales they can build it up into a stand alone release or just keep it as a supported subfaction for Slaves to Darkness. Now, I just need to find some chaos elves to make a chaotic version of the Last Alliance or Cities of Sigmar... maybe I will use Dark Riders as Marauder Horsemen?
  20. That is my biggest hope, now that we have Chaos Dwarves, Varanguard styled Chosen, Ogroid troops, and a billion subfactions! I am especially hoping the Chaos Lord on Demonic mount comes with the right bitz to make classic Archaon for Old World... or in my case the ability to make a proxy Archaon which I will make a scenic base for in AOS.
  21. I really hope there is some way to include Hobgrots if using a Chaos Dwarf general... 🤠
  22. Oh I remember the old days of undivided Demon Princes. I have always preferred the undivided side of Chaos. I am just curious how it will be approached narratively in terms of how they had established Be'Lakor previously. Plus we have this new Named character Eternus blade of the first prince... I just think that there seems to be something going on regarding the Undivided Demon Princes and I am excited to learn more. Even if it is simply that they have gone back to the older style of lore.
  23. Leakers acting like they don't know that we want Chorfs and Ogroids! Quit the slow drip and give us the goods!
  24. Stupid little side note: the leaked rules showcase that Undivided Demon Princes are back! This is great for my army! But it also poses a really interesting narrative question... it was implied in the last S2D Tome that Be'Lakor was the only Undivided Demon Prince in AOS. This was even reflected in the rules making you declare a mark for a Hero that achieved Apotheosis. So I am curious if this will be a simple retcon of a retcon and undivided princes will have simply always existed? Or if Undivided Demon Princes are granted their powers by a different source like Be'Lakor, Archaon or the mighty SLAMBO?
