  1. It's cool man, no offense taken and I can understand why you would think that. I think in the end it's all about how important it is to you and how much care you put on them when you paint them, etc. I'm on the side of the spectrum where I really like putting a lot of care and I enjoy having an army that looks good, because that's important to me. It's kind of a projection of myself. Having models that I consider don't look good to me, and that are key army components means that I will always see them and it does bother me. It's a personal preference and I totally understand that some ppl might not understand. That being said, I love A LOT of the model designs and it's enough to convince me to go forward with it.
  2. It's still early to say I think but there's a batrep on Doom & Darkness channel where he takes on a good Ironjawz Ironsunz list and he obliterates them. I'm an Ironjawz player and I was like.. wait what? The sheer number of wounds on the field is massive. I think melee armies will have a tough time against them.
  3. I have another question regarding the assembly of Gluttons that I hope you guys can help with. In the sprues for 6 gluttons, and on the picture on GW website, we see 2 Gnoblars. That being said, on the warscrolls, the only mention there is about these guys is the guy in the banner, the Lookout dude. What are these guys for and what are their stats, etc? Do we build 2 foot Gnoblars per 6 Gluttons? If someone could help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it.
  4. Sounds badass, man. Thanks for the suggestions.
  5. To me I think it's the head, yeah. I think the slaughtermaster is the one with the terrible face. He just looks derpy, and the fact he has no hands, to me makes no sense. I'd probably like to put something with a cowl or a helmet on him. Any advice? I don't know all the helmet and hoods the models have yet, as I have only seen the images on GW website.
  6. Hi guys, I'm new to Mawtribes and am looking to start an army. I really love the new Tyrant model and overall I can appreciate the aesthetic of the army... The Butcher model though, has got to be the ugliest model I have ever seen and almost turned me off to buy the army altogether. I see in most lists that he's almost a must for most builds. I really like the Firebelly though. Can the firebelly substitute the Butcher in terms of build and synergy or I'm stuck with painting a horrible model? Also do any of you guys have really cool conversions or model from another universe we can use? Thanks for the help
  7. That's a really cool list. I gotta say, I'm an Ironjawz player and I'm really on the verge of getting into Mawtribes. After watching Doom's review and TheHonestWargamer (which completely put me down about the faction btw) I really don't know where to stand about the units. On one side, you have Doom and HeyWoah who say that Gluttons are king and BCR has really get hit, on the other hand you have HonestWargamer who pushes the Gnoblars as being necessary to screen, and pushes leadbealchers as being really good. The Ironblasters though, listening to Doom, really seemed bad, unfortunately. What is your thinking behind taking them in? I really like your list btw, it seems thematic and strong, however it doesn't have the Gluttons who, after watching Doom's game on his channel vs IJ (and completely wiped the floor with them), have such staying power on the board, they really seem like a key component of a Mawtribes army. Please feel free to enlighten me.
  8. I don't know man, I've asked the same question around here to people who know WH Underworlds better than me. GW seems to have changed their approach compared to last year where they released 2 warbands every 3 months or something. Now they only released one lately and the Snarlfangs are still waiting to come in Pre-order. I have no clue when they will arrive unfortunately.
  9. The rule in the book doesn't say anything about a limitation. As long as your unit is within 12' or an enemy unit and wholly within 18' of a friendly hero, and more than 3' from an enemy model. I would go ahead that yes, you could use it as many times as you want if you have the CPs.
  10. Yeah man, you can be sure I'm buying that warband for AoS. They had me at Brutes models. I was looking back at the pictures and that Big Orruk with the skull mask, could he be some sort of Wardok leader for a band of Brutes? He doesn't seem to be wearing any armor and he looks too badass to be a simple grunt. He's either a Brute wearing no armor on his upper body or some kind of Brute Wardok that could buff the Brutes. This is really intriguing. I'm also pushing aside the possibility or him being a Savage Orruk Wardok because he has metal on his skull, a signature of the Ironjawz. I'm starting to think that we didn't get any new models with the book because these warbands were coming. GW probably has a big over-arching marketing plan where they make sure that each faction (that's popular) will at least get something in the fiscal year. For example, Ogors only got the Tyrant but they will also get the Hunter guy with the frostsabers. IJ didn't get anything but we'll get this Brute group thing. Just a thought..
  11. A little of a side topic but I am super pumped to get the new Brutes models that will come in Beastgrave. I've gathered 4 images here that depicts them into that universe. One with a pony tail: Another one with a pony tail but with metal jaw: Here's one with more of a bone jaw, classic setup but with axes: And finally, a badass one with what looks like could be the leader of the band: Perhaps these Brutes will be better?
  12. Amazing article @PlasticCraic. Thank you for taking the time to write this.
  13. I was thinking about the Brutes current state and I had this idea that traditionally, we're always looking to HoG ardboys in (a big group preferably) but wouldn't a single group of 10 Brutes be a terrific target to HoG? They can either be TP'ed in the back or in the front/side to accelerate their movement. After that it's just a matter of timing to get in fight with them. I have a group of 10 and they look so damn cool, I thought this could be a great alternative. Meanwhile your ardboys take objectives and/or go faster in the frontlines, waiting to charge. What do you think? I'm also just considering taking a group of 10 instead of 2 units of 5. It feels like it would hit much much harder. I'd do this in Da Choppas though to get the extra bravery, otherwise it's too risky.
  14. Some comment on the first list: it's a fairly classic list, it's heavier on ardboys so it'll be more durable for sure. Always depends on what your strategy is. I would say though that your GGs in groups of 3 should have the pig iron choppas because the "missile" effect of the charge is less impactful when they're in groups of three than in groups of 6. I guess you want them to be more of a strategic anvil so choppas will get you more benefits in the long run. I don't know about the extra CP at 1500pts. It might be better to drop the shaman and add in another group of gruntas to make it 6, so you can focus your ardboys on being anvils. Just a few things to think about. The shaman is often a total waste for me. Never casts HoG when I need it, while gruntas never disappoint in their brutality. Also, if you're Ironsunz, you'll get that extra CP anyway.
  15. Hey man, I believe this list is not legal as you cannot choose traits and artefacts for the warchanter anymore. They are for Megaboss and Weirdnob only (they have their own specific tables). The only artefacts you can put on a Warchanter are the Realm specific ones.
  16. Wait... What am I missing here? I thought you needed a unit of ardboys to die to try to summon one. How would it work to summon... 50? I don't get it EDIT: Nevermind,I just saw the list posted above.
  17. Could I get a feedback on this? My game is tomorrow
  18. Quick question gents, Let's say we're doing a 2v2 and I'm fielding some 720 pts and I only have a warchanter as a general. Can my Ironjawz be from the Ironsunz clan and benefit from the -1to hit first turn? Since I can't take anything but a realm artefact anyway, I figured this might be powerful still.
  19. That's a cool list. May I ask what you will use the Ironskull's for in your game? I have them in my list too and am wondering how to use them wisely. Also, what makes you take Ironfist vs just having more bodies?
  20. Hi everyone, I got a question about list building specifically. Instead of just asking if a list is good, I'd like to get some feedback and suggestions on how to build a good Ironjawz list. My general thinking is this: - What models do I have? - What's gonna be my main hammer, anvil? - Do I have enough units if there are many objectives? - What is my overall strategy? Now regarding the grouping of units, for example taking 6 GGs instead of 3, or 15 ardboys instead of 10, I was wondering what are the general guidelines, do's and don'ts in list building. We're having a 1200pts match next week and here's all the models I have at the moment (1180), that I have grouped in a way that makes sense to me. The 6 GGs are my main hammer, then I have an anvil unit of ardboys (10) and 2 little units for objective guarding. And another group of brutes for extra punch and big monsters. I was also wondering when I should take the Ironfist battalion and when I shouldnt, at this level of points. My list: Allegiance: Ironjawz- Warclan: IronsunzOrruk Megaboss (150)- GeneralOrruk Warchanter (110)Orruk Weirdnob Shaman (110)6 x Orruk Gore-gruntas (320)- Pig-iron Choppas10 x Orruk Ardboys (180)5 x Orruk Brutes (140)- Pair of Brute Choppas5 x Orruk Ardboys (90)4 x Ironskull's Boyz (80)Total: 1180 / 1250Extra Command Points: 0Allies: 0 / 200Wounds: 102 If you could share your knowledge on list building with me, that'd be great as I would love to develop the confidence to build my own.
  21. Phew! That's great. Thanks for pulling out the rule too. So glad it counts for both.
  22. Question for everyone: I have the book in front of me right now and on the Violent Fury ability of the Warchanter, it says"add 1 to the damage inflicted by attacks made with melee weapons by that unit..." Does that mean that the pigs in GGs units do not get +1 damage on their profile? Could anyone confirm how this rule applies please?
  23. I had 6 models in my GG unit so I rolled 6 times one dice (everytime I moved a model) and got extremely lucky every roll.
  24. My friend, I have witnessed the true power of a full-on Gore-gruntas charge with a unit of 6 and it is murderous. First turn, I move my Gore-Gruntas 9", I use Mighty Destroyers on them to move another 9" to get close to a unit of 20 Stabbas (with a unit of Fanatics hidden inside). My GGs are buffed with +1 damage from Warchanter (the thing that is insane is that the boars get +1 damage as well. Phew!) In the charge phase, he gets the Fanatics out to protect the 20 Stabbas. I charge at the Fanatics (because we now do frigging MW on charge) I do a total of 5 MW!. His devastating unit of Fanatics is now GONE. Then in the combat phase I pile-in and proceed to murder the ****** out of the Stabbas. Only 2 remain at the end. That's essentially 23 wounds dished out in a single combat phase. It's INSANE. The GGs are such beasts, and they are an especially good counter to the fanatics which we couldn't stop before. Wow. I'm impressed at their efficiency. Here's a pic of the massacre. Thanks for the suggestion @svnvaldez and your sound advice. It really paid off because I didn't have that in mind initially.
