  1. CA: yo we REALLY NEED more designs for Cathay GW: uhhh.... use this guy (i love both!)
  2. do you mean not ONLY Warrior Chamber got thunderstruck? I was actually expecting that 👀 perhaps... multi-part, dual kits?
  3. i would expect a launch set like Indomitus and Dominion to be the heaviest for sure. more models than starter sets PLUS the hardback corebook
  4. the point is that both hobbyists who want their armies' books AND comp players who need their armies' books have both been priced out, and the books you do end up getting are immediately FAQ'd on top of including mistakes....... "you don't need to buy all those books" is true, but missing the point. I don't even want to buy the SINGULAR battletome I need because of how anti-consumer GW is now.
  5. don't forget the typos 🤪 like @mojojojo101 and a ton of others have said, I'd love for these books--especially campaign books--to be coffee table worthy with nice art and narrative exploration.
  6. these guys are the pinnacle of the ~Warhammer Aesthetic~ and i will die on this hill... this is the EPITOME of "there is only war" if you ask for more grimdark this is eventually what you get! it might be my favorite Marine kit because of how honest it is
  7. i dunno, they're pretty different biologic structures that i doubt even the dumbest orruk couldn't see. unless Ghurian spiders are...flesh-based...
  8. even calling it a summary is being too kind imho... they only listed the winners. not even a breakdown of how many entrants vs how many factions were brought which feels like the bare minimum coverage for a competitive event.
  9. same! since AOS Slaanesh is actually covering more vices/sins, DoK should lean into the Monstrous/Deadly Beauty theme. Maybe some snake-heads on traitors cursed by Morathi? Rattlesnake and stinger tails? Melusai look fantastic and deserve more sisters
  10. It should be perfectly normal to see boxes like this still around after their launch week TBQH... it's absurd that they're FOMO prints when basically all other wargames have big army boxes buyable year round. However! every time I try going to the store I'm greeted by either a queue or a captcha to even ENTER the site... so I would never know there was even an FEC army box to buy to begin with
  11. yeah i'd much rather see multipart stormcast to begin with... it's still weird to me that Sequitors are ETB for Soul Wars but then went completely multipart, yet Thunderstrike stuck with ETB that's my thought process yeah; why not go a little further out for the Launch Box when the smaller starter sets are specifically for new people.
  12. In a feverish haze last night, an idea came to me. We know Stormcast are going to end up in the starter boxes because they're the poster-starter faction. However, What if the LAUNCH BOX had some new Cities unit(s) mixed in? Perhaps a new shrine unit and new flagellants or militia? If it's Stormcast vs Skaven this could be an opportunity to use the 4e launch box as a combined Order force against Skaven saboteurs. (i'd also prefer not getting net-new Stormcast on top of redone oldies. just give us thunderstruck Warrior and Sacrosanct chambers!) using new COS cult units alongside redone stormcast would be an extremely fluffy introduction to 4e, opening the gates for COS wave 2, and make the Stormcast refresh land better.
  13. saw an LVO list that might be the funniest list i've ever seen... Victor decided to simply out-mw his opponents before they could mw him. are you here?? would love to know how this felt to play.
  14. I got a feeling it's the top of this RE and possibly related to the hand as well??
  15. part of the "Stormcast problem" IMHO is that GW clearly did not... finalize their design until Thunderstrike. As put-together as all of the old stuff looks, the new Thunderstrike fit a LOT better into the overall fantasy aesthetic. what I'm hoping/kind of expecting is Stormcast releases to peter out once the old stuff is converted? And after the initial edition launch, Stormcast really don't get anything in the mainline game (since 2e). So 4e being a wave of refreshed models + WHU and Warcry, then nothing until 5e 5e refreshes more oldies, etc. GW could use Warcry to introduce technically-new units that do double duty like the Huanchi Hunters. edit: i'm sure some random hero models will come out too, but overall I'm not expecting SCE releases past 4e's launch year.
  16. yes, in the same way all factions have distinct subfactions. but only Space Marines (loyalist or traitor) get separate Chapter books for the subfaction differences. i don't speak for all SCE fans, but most of us just want more non-Hammers characters in-text. I haven't met anyone who wants separate books for Stormhosts, cos that'd be a- horrible money/rules wise and b- retreading the same mistake 40k made. we don't want Chapter books we just want Hammers to not be the main subfaction that always shows up.
  17. Stormcast only have one army and there's not been any indication of being "Chaptered" like Marines, no need to snipe. i don't see why Skaven and ulgu aelves can't both show up, especially when GW is building a new factory. i could see Pestilens becoming Nurgle but outside that, i expect Skaven to have multiple kits from different clans like WHF had. I'd love to see some lesser used/known clans from the Council show up in AOS. really hoping we get at least one, one-off campaign book that allows this! it'd be super cool to have some kind of listbuilding that gives unique synergies based on your mashup.
  18. thanks to @Ejecutor revamping the rumor engine site, I got to looking at unsolved ones again. now, with the Loremaster's episode on USHORAN out I think this RE is ghouls. It looks like a literal interpretation of their "ghoul blood being distributed to make cults" narrative. and I think this second one is the same hand, so maybe Underworlds warband for this?
  19. If someone is going to make it their job to report on a game/company, I think the least they could do is... know the names of models in said game. Like why would you not want to be aware of all the factions in 40k if that's your job? How are you disinterested in one of the main antagonists of the setting? It just speaks to a level of laziness that I cannot grasp. It's one thing to be a hobbyist and not know the names of everything (especially Marines or Stormcast), but if you are taking money from other fans to bring them news on the game?? You should be putting in the effort to know all the factions.
