  1. I have to agree with @Austin. I actually enjoyed the size of the armies that WHFB used to offer. The anemic offerings nowdays leaves me looking for something more meaty to sink my hobby teeth into. Does anyone think we're getting a Lumineth Lowdown tomorrow? They didn't mention it in the Sunday preview, so that leaves me wondering. I feel like they could offer a couple more tidbits of info on the units they've shown with out telling us everything. That would keep the community engaged and offer us a bit of an olive branch after how unsatisfying Saturday was. In particular I'd like to hear more Eltharion, and who, or what he is now.
  2. @NorthernNurgling I hear you. That's why I've stepped away. Between disappointment at the direction of some of the new models and the slow burn of release, it's been hard to keep my personal interest up. Although I have been coming up with vague plans to base an army off of Eltharion and New Tor Yvresse.
  3. I wonder if we're going to get a melee hero besides Eltharion, or if the battle cattle are it, and the rest are wizards.
  4. Something that we maybe shouldn't assume is that Eltharion isn't just Zenith. From the hints dropped, Zenith is it's own faction, not a combination of the other three. I think if there is some one besides Teclis who would be a master of all four paths it would be Eltharion. As a side note, we have no evidence that Tyrion is part of any of the factions. So far the lore has said that Teclis created these paths as a means of preventing Slaanesh worship. I think it would be interesting if Tyrion was outside or beyond these paths and had his own way of utilizing the aetherquartz.
  5. @Sleepers I like the way you think! That would be one heck of a release!
  6. I will say this box has rekindled my desire to build a crusading army led by the Spirit of Eltharion to go Manfred Hunting(tm)!
  7. So they did say at the end of the presentation that what they have shown is only half of what they had for the Adepticon reveal. They are stretching things out to have some kind of content to show us, since they can't sell anything at the moment. These small hobby doses will probably be the norm until Nurgle's Plague dies down. I'm pretty sold on this box. It has all the models I actually like out of the range, and I was going to buy all of the other stuff anyway, so I will basically wind up with a Collector's Battletome along with it. My remaining hope is that we get more than just the veiled maiden from the other Elements. I may pick up a Mountain Spirit, but it's going to take me a while to get the Stoneguard. I'll have to figure out a conversion that I can live with first.
  8. @Damosane That might step on the toes of the Idoneth a little too much.
  9. I think another problem is those older models were made using older sculpting and mold technology. It made getting getting proportions a little tough, especially if you wanted descent detail out of the older molds. But that isn't the case with these new models. They have been doing fantastic jobs with the newer models. The Dawnriders I really love. Which is why having helmets the same size as the rest of your body makes no sense for these models. Heck, why not sculpt the helmet to look as though they are looking out through the bull's face?
  10. Yeah, my army at the moment is probably going to be the other three units shown, plus Eltharion. My main man was my first High Elf model, it would be only fitting for him to be my first Lumineth model!
  11. Honestly for me, it came down to we used to have really awesome preditor animals for most of our allies, to having one if the biggest prey animals in this update. And yes, you could argue that in other culture the ox or cow or yak has deep cultural significance, or that the in game explanation is a mythical immortal beast. But the High Elf race was THE Dragon race. We had the Dragonlord Imrik himself, who could command even other races' dragons. It just feels like a step down for me to go from Dragonlord to Bull Master. @Thiagoma That picture is also probably my favorite piece of Warhammer artwork ever. That was my phone backrground for a long time until my kids came along!
  12. At some point I think it would be a good idea for them to add units to the existing armies that have relatively few kits.
  13. Man, I hope so. I had to distance myself for a couple days after that last reveal.
  14. @michu I was refering specifically to the pic of the Stoneguard with out the elven heads and just the cow heads on top. If you show those models to anyone, told them nothing about them at all, then asked what race or faction they might belong to, what kind of answer do you think you'll get? And I'm sorry, but GW did kind of shoot themselves in the foot with this. They specifically said that this release harkens back to the elves of old. And I do enjoy the archers, spearmen, and cavalry that are coming. But the mental association with the elves of old is there, along with even the first preview annointing them the "pointy aelves." The old high elves were graceful beings, and the animals associated with them continued this trend. Eagles, dragons, phoenixes, lions, and even horses to a lesser extent are all graceful, swift creatures. Further, with the exception of the horses, they are all sleek, predatory, dangerous beings. So we've gone from that mental association to a creature that is largely looked upon as slow, clumsy, and a prey animal by pretty much the entire animal kingdom, humans included. I'm not telling you not to like them. I'm not telling you you're wrong for liking them. But I do feel it's disingenuous to build up such a hype about the return of something like the high elves, only to take such a hard left turn. If so many comparisons hadn't been made from the start, perhaps so many people wouldn't be feeling burnt by this unit now.
  15. See, no offense, but when I see this crop of the Stoneguard, I have to ask why you wanted to play aelves, because those aren't aelves. Those are cultured beatmen dressed like aelves. And that's cool. I like that concept, just not in the army that is supposed to be the successor to the Asur of Ulthuan. I'm starting to agree with the guys from Warhammer Weekly the more I ruminate on these guys. At this point, I hope we don't get Tyrion in this army. I hope he gets his own faction with dragons and phoenixes.
  16. Not going to lie, the cow head helmets turn me right off. I actually really like the mountain spirits themselves, but those helmets are just about the dumbest thing ever. I don't care how strong you train your neck muscles, those things would break your neck with one wrong twist. There is fantastical aesthetic, and then there is stuff that is too far fetched that just breaks your immersion. Green stuff tassels it is.
  17. I wonder if the Bull Spirit is just one of four. It would be awesome getting all kinds of spirit friends to help. I will totally make The Hall of Justice and paint them like the Justice League of Spirit Friends!
  18. Their article today said they wouldn't be producing anything new till at least May 2nd. So even if we get a reveal tomorrow, we have at least till then to we can get anything.
  19. It's insulting because we learned nothing of substance in this article, and yet it's supposed to placate us. I don't mind if the release did get pushed back, especially in light of current circumstances. But treat us like the paying customers that we are and tell us what's going on, instead of tossing up little puff pieces that we could have probably written ourselves. A better article would have been to actually reveal a little more of the background of the army. It wouldn't have to have been mych, maybe just revealing a little more about what Tyrion and Teclis did during the Age of Myth. That would have actually provided substance to the community, and bought more time to figure things out, while also generating some good will in the process.
  20. I actually hope not. Because if the are still continueing these articles, that means that the full army reveal has been pushed back even further. And that's just insulting.
  21. Ugh, I wonder if that means they're waiting till the 4th for our reveal.
  22. It did give us an idea of what they have for alternative color schemes for the army.
  23. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/03/23/de-lightful-aelven-architecturegw-homepage-post-2/ Here we go every one!
  24. Heh, they already have my order. Them stretching it out is just irritating me.
