  1. Old Woods can be used on a one wood base = one awakened wyldwood basis. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/07/11/sylvaneth-the-endless-spells-and-awakened-wyldwoodgw-homepage-post-3/
  2. Hello, I'm a new player and got the models because I love the aesthetic for my Sylvaneth army (going to make Ylthari a count as Branchwraith) but I quickly fell in love with WU as well. My only problem is that every optimized deck has cards from near 14 sets in them. Right now I only have Ylthari and the Nightvault box set. Is there a way to build a strong deck by adding just one or two more sets to the ones I own?
  3. You get an extra command point and artefact for every battalion. Since I have 2 Battalions, I should get 3 total. Spellsong Stave is an artefact that makes your caster get an extra spell.
  4. Making a 5 drop list with the new rules, wanted to see what people think: Winterleaf Grove Free Spirit Battalion (140) -Spirit of Durthu (General, My Heart is Ice, Frozen Kernal) (340) -3x Kurnoth Hunters (Greatswords) (200) -3x Kurnoth Hunters (Greatswords) (200) -6x Kurnoth Hunters (Scythes) (400) Outcasts Battalion -5x Spite Revenants (60) -5x Spite Revenants (60) -20x Spite Revenants (200) Branchwraith (Spellsong Stave, Throne of Vines) (80) Branchwraith (The Vesperal Gem, Verderous Harmony) (80) Arch-Revenant (100) Vengeful Skullroot (40) 2000/2000 Wounds: 117 Command Points: 2 Thoughts: This is taking advantage of exploding 6s by using them on the units that hit hardest (Kurnoth & Durthu) and those with an incredible output of attacks (Spite Revs). If you can get the 20 man Spites in combat all at once, you deal 61 3+/3+ attacks or 81 w/ Arch Revenant command ability. With Archies bonus, that's 41 wounds on average. You use the Frozen Kernal, that's 82 wounds on average. Absolutely insane for 1 artifact, 1 cp and 200pts. Running the small groups of Kurnoths with swords, because they're better, and the large group with scythes so they can all hit. Arch-Revenant flies nearby to make the already strong Hunters absolute monsters. They go with Durthu, and the Scythes aim for whatever has the best save. The Branchwraiths get the artifacts. The artifact on the Wraith with Throne of Vines lets her cast an extra spell. Get Throne up, cast Dryads turn 1. Turn 2, cast endless spell (either Vengeful Skullroot or a Gladewyrm thay travels with your death squad of Free Spirits). The second Wraith auto-casts a spell that can revive a Kurnoth a turn or she can focus on getting more woods down. If the first Wraith goes down, she can switch to Dryad duty. Comments or criticisms? Just trying to figure out some fun new things with these lists, but I've never actually played more than a 1000pt game haha.
  5. I would love to play Alarielle and Drycha, unfortunately I just can't afford them right now. I'm saving up money, and I've promised myself I'd buy her after I have everything else painted. I'm allergic to grey models. I still have 9 Kurnoth, 5 Tree Revs, 20 Spite Revs, 12 Dryads, and 2 Arch Revenants left to paint before I can justify (mostly to my wife haha) buying more models. Once I get Alarielle, I'll probably drop the TLA, 3 Kurnoth (and just summon them with Alarielle), and an Arch Revenant. Unfortunately, I know I'll be stuck for at least a month or two before I can buy and paint her.
  6. Aezeal hit it on the nose. Dreadwood Grove let's you put a unit ridiculously close to the enemy, so whatever you want dead can end up dead. Also, with the Arch Revenant, you should be able to have enough movement to get your scythe death squad wholly within 12" so they can re-roll 1s to hit. Even if you can't, you can channel your command ability through the Kurnoth Hunters to get them all +1 attack. However, since I'm adding an additional Arch Revenant, I may make a 6 man Scythe alpha squad and a 3 man Greatsword squad with Arch Revenant escort. Just trying to use all my models as best I can.
  7. Just did some math and your suggestion got me to a much tighter list. Dropped 10 Dryads and 5 Spite Revenants, knocking it down to 1820 points. If I add a Branchwraith and the second Arch Revenant I'll be at exactly 2000. Give the wraith the Ramu's Lamentri and she's casting dryad summons at 1+d3 casting. I'll need to buy another box of Dryads to have enough to summon, but it should be a pretty strong list. Thanks!
  8. Hi all, I'm a new player in an escalation league working towards 2000 points. However, I'm on a more limited budget which constrains model opportunities a bit more. I've put together a 2000 pt Dreadwood list and I was wondering if I could get some input on what people think and how I could move things around. 2000 pt Dreadwood List Leaders (3/6) Treelord Ancient (300) General -Warsinger, Briarsheath, Regrowth Branchwych (80) -Ramu's Lamentri, Verdant Blessing Arch Revenant (100) -Seed of Rebirth Battleline (7/3) 30x Dryads (270) 1x 5 Tree Revenants (80) 5x 5 Spite Revenants (5 x 70 = 350) 9 Kurnoth Hunters (600) - Scythes Battalions Outcasts (90) Dreadwood Wargrove (90) Wounds - 127 1960/2000 points I own 3 halves of Looncurse, 1 SC, and 1 box of Dryads, so this list is everything I own minus 2 Dryads and 1 Arch Revenant (only have 2). I chose Scythes on the hunters so they could all hit on their alpha strike. I could switch a unit of Spite for Tree Revs, but I've already built 5 Tree Revs so they are stuck (their models are very pretty). I want to buy Alarielle, a Branchwraith, and more Dryads, but until the new tome is released, everything is on hold. Is this a battle viable list? What would people change? Maybe switching out a spite unit for another Arch-Revenant? Other thoughts? I have 8 "citadel wood" outlines that my shop allows in place of $240 of woods thankfully.
