  1. I dislike Nagash and support all plans of overthrowing him, courtesy of some Vampires 😛 I just re-read the description of the Horrorghast and it says "... taking on the appearance of whatever will most terrorize their prey - most often the pitiless gaze of Nagash, The Great Necromancer." 'Most often' definitely allows for something more horrendous, as long as it resembles the model a tad; is what I'll do, since I will not field something that even remotely looks like Nagash.
  2. Thanks for the response! 7k is pretty impressive - maybe I'll get there too, one day, haha. I like pretty much all of Death, so in the long run, it wouldn't be that much of a deal, but since I specifically bought and built for this 2k list, I'd be stripped of my army for a while if it happens 😅
  3. Is this likely to happen? That Nighthaunt Units will be Allies only? I just invested into 1k Nighthaunt / 1k Vampires for playing Legion of Night, this would be a oh-so-major bummer for me.
  4. Thanks a bunch! These are looking great. I'm now thinking about having blood trickle down from the wicks and doing a blue-purple-black flame - or the classic flame colors, but with the black taking up most of the space so the color doesn't interfere with the rest of my scheme so much.
  5. What colour did you people use for the flames on your models, the Guardian of Souls, for example? My Nighthaunt models are white-grey-black with a lot of dark blood on their weapons, hands and faces and the Green commonly used really interferes with the rest of my Ghosts and Vampires. Tried Purple-Blue, Yellow-Orange-Red and the Green; will probably settle on a shaded white (the whitest white in the army, though) if I don't figure out a fitting colour.
  6. Thanks a ton for reviewing the list and the great suggestions I could field a Necromancer instead of the second Vampire (who's the Lady) in her earlier version; before she actually became one. Wouldn't break my fluff; ist just another spot on the timeline. I could simultaneously only have the Vargheists ambush (for example) and have both the Vampire and the Necromancer near the Black Coach (still fluffy ;p). This would leave me with Swift Form for the Lord and him being support from round one; and I guess I could field Skeletons instead of the Chainrasps for The Bait; which I'd also have the Necro for - and a second one for the Grimghasts; or the Guardian of Souls, still. Just painted up my Chainrasps and haven't got any Skeletons, though, so this'll probably be the last of those options I'll consider.
  7. I'm gonna do something like this, but for my Vampire Lord on Nightmare (and the shadow will be blood, but still):
  8. I'm new; and for my first 2000 points, I'd like to use this list - it's fluffy first and foremost, but I'd rather not be stomped into the ground with it - so if I could have some insight from a competitive point of view, please my opponents will play Seraphon, Stormcasts and Skaven! Ah, and the background is two Vampires roaming the night skies in their coach, so the coach is pretty mandatory, even if it's not the first choice in a competitive build. I'd have the two Vampires doing Ambush with the Blood Knights and the Vargheists, going for a hunt, while the Guardian of Souls and the Black Coach stay with the other Units until the Black Coach has enough Power Levels. Allegiance: Legion of Night Mortal Realm: Shyish LEADERS Vampire Lord (140) General Command Trait : Above Suspicion Nightmare Artefact : Ethereal Amulet Lore of the Vampires : Vile Transference Vampire Lord (140) Flying Horror Lore of the Vampires: Amethystine Pinions Guardian of Souls with Nightmare Lantern (140) UNITS 40 x Chainrasp Horde (280) 5 x Dire Wolves (60) 5 x Dire Wolves (60) 5 x Dire Wolves (60) 5 x Blood Knights (240) 6 x Vargheists (320) 20 x Grimghast Reapers (280) BEHEMOTHS Black Coach (280) - Allies TOTAL: 2000/2000
  9. I now thought about either having it lift off at a rather steep angle with an already higher base beneath - Graveyard, probably - so it hovers over the majority of enemy units; or have it descending from the sky, again at a rather steep angle with a Mausoleum or a tree holding up the downwards facing coach, with the horses landing. Taking two of the horses and having them accompany the coach flying next to it is also a possibility. e: Come to think of it, just placing a Mausoleum, a statue or a tree beneath it and having it soar through the sky is probably a really elegant take on making base contact possible and also allows going really creative on the base.
  10. The solution is great, actually. I thought it'd get wider, with this approach, but this is a neat fit, apparently. Looks like the model is roughly 1.5x the length of the base, means I need to have to model higher than the base is long if I want to go the landing-route. Mh.
  11. I've also thought about having it descending down from the sky, so that the coach is high up in the air while the horses are landing; I could build this with a Mausoleum or a tree I place the model atop of. Is there a rule that limits me to a certain height of a model? And do you, by chance, know the exact length of the model and the base?
  12. Hey, I'm new. Planned to start playing in 2004, but then youth came - and is, thankfully, over - so here I am, 15 years late, starting Death. Got the Nighthaunt Half of Soul Wars, will extend to a Nighthaunt and a LoN army, respectively. My favourite piece has always been the Black Coach - the old model; and the new one even more so. Now I've read that the horses in front of the base are a serious problem in terms of combat rules (can't attack because base is too far away even if the horses are right in front of the enemy unit). Can I redeem this - at least for small-base-hordes - with having the horses lift off so they soar over the heads of the enemy unit? Any tips? I absolutely need to field this model.
