Question, can my warlock engineer use overseer of destruction on ratling guns that are hidden inside a clanrat unit?

I’m gonna say yes, overseer happens in the shooting phase when your ratlings would not be hidden.

Both overseer and hidden teams happen at the START of the shooting phase, so I think you can decide which happens first.

Something like vigor dust that happens in the hero phase would not affect the hidden teams

  2. Warscroll builder is now up for 3.0

@Riff_Raff_Rascal if you select Lord Skreetch you can select the universal spells, if you select a Screaming Bell, you can select either lore

if you then add spell as an enhancement (having chosen a corresponding battalion) you can select a second spell for each wizard

    27.3.4 SPELL LORES

Each time you take a spell lore enhancement, you can pick 1 spell for
each Wizard in your army from any of the spell lores available to that
Wizard (you can pick different spells from different spell lores for
different Wizards). Each Wizard knows the spell that you picked for
them in addition to the other spells they know

The way I read this is that Verminlords can have 1 spell from the universal lore, and your Grey Seer or Skryre wizards can have 1 universal spell OR 1 from their respective lores.

If you take a core battalion that allows another enhancement, then you could take another spell each

Edit: also, the line in the Skaven battalion (page 78) that says you can have 1 spell from our lore was removed in the FAQ

Lets hope the warscroll builder is updated at all. I suspect GW to use the listbuilding tool in the new app to force people into their subscription model.

That doesn’t guarantee anything. I’ve been paying for Azyr for years and they were always slow at updating that.

When I put Lord Skreech in a list, is he still not able to take any of our lore spells? Just the generic ones? He's not a Grey Seer or Warlock so I'm assuming no, despite the update to unique characters getting access to lores.

Correct. The FAQ has changed the wording to be Grey Seer and Skryre Wizards only.

Hopefully the warscroll builder should be updated soon, I tend to use that as gospel.

You cannot issue and receive a command more than once per phase - and you cannot use the same command multiple times per phase
In the case of sisters - it is using the ability without the command being issued/ received . Quite clear you can use it multiple times

If it is using the ability, as you say, then you cannot use it multiple times, as you also say.

Oh god, I was so stupid. Of course it means the CA sequence! The whole freaking rule is called Using Command Abilities! And how do you use them? You spend a CP,  issue, receive, yada, yada. If you do not do that sequence, you DO NOT USE A CA.

And your warscroll ability allows you to skip over the issue and spend CP steps. But you’re still using it.

yes but RaW the units that have the ability don't use the command ability they receive it based on a trigger.

Doesn’t matter how they receive it... they are still using the command ability. The command ability is named in their FAQ’d warscroll. You have to refer to the command ability for the rules, ergo you are using that command ability

  9. Seems fairly straight forward. The FAQ has changed the warscroll so that they can now issue the Unleash Hell command free. But the core rule 6.1 says that a unit cannot receive a command more than once per phase, so you just get to use it once. And you can’t use it again on another unit in the same phase, even if you spend a CA.

Not what you wanted to hear I imagine, but they are the rules as written

  10. I’ve just looked again, and it’s more to do with reserves, but if the unit is “inside” then I think it counts as the same unit

    3.1 RESERVES AND SUMMONED UNITS
Q: Are things like Fanatics or Assassins that hide inside another unit, or embarked Kharadron Overlords units, counted as being reserves? A: Only if the unit that they are ‘inside’ is in reserve. A reserve unit is a unit that is set up in a location other than on the battlefield. Units that are on the battlefield are not reserves, even if the models themselves are not set up.

Thanquol (2:2 loadout. Might end up going melee, but want to test this a bit)

    Skitterleap, flaming weapon

    Warlock bombadier

    Mmmwp, chain warp lightning

How are you getting 2 spells each? My understanding of the new "enhancements" is that you can choose 1 spell lore, unless you take Warlord or Entourage battalions for an extra enhancement. The one drop battalion doesn't grant this.

  12. Yeah, it’s mostly seems to be rewording for 3.0 language. Particularly prayer rolls and the move towards +1 rather than rerolls etc

Excited by gnawhole change though, before it was pretty obvious which units were going to go through. We can be even more sneaky now 🤣

Explain like I’m 5 - Thanquol can bring 4 Warpfire throwers but doesn’t roll 4 dice for each model?

Isn’t this from the old FAQ. Someone thought that you could roll 4 dice for each weapon i.e. 16 dice per model.

I think they mean if Kragnos is fighting another Kragnos.

Well in that unlikely scenario, then yes, Kragnos B would get to do his ability too. The wording of the Bellow Of Rage only states that the model has been allocated wounds IN a phase.

If it had said DURING a phase, then i would have said no. Rule 1.6.1 defines the difference between the start, end and during a phase. Start > During > End

    great we’re hitting in 2s

You can't increase hit, wound or save by more than +1 It's in the core rules now.

AoS 3 will make it unusual see units over 20

I'll still be taking 30 stormvermin and 2 x 40 clanrats quite regularly

May I ask why everybody puts a Plague Priest in their list, lately?

    Is it because of Disease-disease!?

Probably for the new universal prayers, Bless and Smite and the new Prayer Scripture (Guidance, Heal, Curse)

Priests have suddenly become very valuable heroes and the Plague Priest is still very cheap 🤫
