Vampire counts. Shades of Death.

Finished my 2nd Old World army - Vampire Counts. I call the army Shades of Death, the idea was to use a very limited palette of a few pinks and purples and little else. Enjoyed using just a few paints and is something I'll defo do again in the future.

I've pledged my oaths to the gods and secured my darkoath box! Excited to paint up a force of barbarians. Only downside is having to wait 2 weeks to get them!

Yes, pic in the back of Issue 58 show a preview and it's the new ard Boyz Released July 17th in the UK. Forbidden planet has up to Issue 72 on preorder now so it's just about checking to see when they put 73 on pre order.

Excekkt job on him @Skreech Verminking I plan on using the new ard Boyz myself as a unit of black orcs when I get round to expanding my greenskins. Also waiting for Issue 73 of the hattette magazine as they have 10 ardboyz for £9.99 and it's always good to keep the cost down!!

Unit fillers are what you're talking about. They are great for filling out some ranks and adding some visual intrest to a unit. Take a look at my goblin army at the start of this thread or my painting blog to see what I did. Love those colours, what paints did you use? Awesome!! The classic match up!!

Yep, the only thing changing in summer 2025 is beasts, bonesplitters and wizardcast won't be supported for GW official events and go into legend but they stated that all will receive rule and balance update through the entire edition. My thoughts on it is, there were 3 factions in dire need of a make over. Skaven as we know are coming very soon which leaves beasts and ogors. Of the 2 remaining factions, I see beasts as most in need of a complete rework and with them being in TOW there is a opportunity to give them a digital battletome for this edition which gives time to do a complete redo of the range and solidify them into AoS without any warhammer hold overs. I think we'll see ogors long before beasts reappear and I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2nd wave of kruleboyz which will fill the savage monster killer slot left by bonesplitters.

Completely agree, it's made me think more about how I want the whole army to look and about what models to use. And as much as I love AoS and round bases, there is just something so satisfying about having a fulled ranked up unit painted and based.

I think we'll see more kruleboyz like the monster killers in Warcry which will fill the slot of bonesplitters. Bonesplitters are monster hunters who wear very little and use bone as decoration, the Warcry monster killers tick all those boxes. I can see them as a bridge between Ironjawz and kruleboyz. Beasts I can see getting the AoS treatment, I'll love to see what GW do with modern tech and sculpting, giving us some truly terrifying nightmare creatures.

We want pics!! The answer is yes! Frustrating. I've resigned myself that I'll probably have to wait for any of the new releases, tho I have been lucky so far and got the bret box and all books on release day and my orc and goblin journal was dispatched today.

Take pictures before if you do strip them so you can compare your new paint job. I've been painting for 30 odd years now and really wish I had some of my first painted models but alas they are lost to time. I'm been thinking about doing a small dwarf force as well, it's one of the armies I never collected first time round.

You say that but with the removal of the Warcry warbands there are no chaos dwarf models or followers in AoS now. Chaos Dwarfs squatted again before they even became a full faction 😂

Interesting that the beasts go to legends in summer 2025. Why not at the end of 4th edition? My guess is that's when the replacement faction will be released.
