  1. Anyway you look at it, a single Megagargant is now pushing the price threshold of like, a battlebox or warcry box, eg you can get one giant for the price of a huge pile of terrain and about 20 infantry models, or 30-50 models split into two forces...or likely the upcoming STD boxset with a limited edition battletome, Daemon Prince, 10 Chosen and three Ogroids... Always been true of the Megagargants, which is one of the reasons I don't play SoB, but geez.
  2. Not really sure what to expect for the Pre-order announcement today, honestly. LRL Tome-Might still be in Limbo SoB/Mawtribes-Maybe, but they haven't been pushing them much this week New Underworlds set: Almost more likely than any of the battletomes at this point, but still sudden Votann wave 1: Maybe, two weeks after the box is close, but maybe Nothing else I can think of, since we're coming off a big sidegames/random stuff preorder week as it is.
  3. Agreed. A year or two ago when I was looking into starting a Death army just for variety sake, I kept coming back to OBR. Theme, Playstyle, just not making me own a million models for a side army, on paper they were perfect, but I just can't with the aesthetic they have.
  4. Or just a new SBGL hero. Remember everyone gets at least one.
  5. Yeah this is honestly my favorite Underworlds box since Beastgrave. That was the last box before this one that I was fully on board with both warbands.
  6. That's a good looking set of warbands, dang. I don't want to know how much the box is gonna cost though...
  7. I've never looked at SoB in app form, but in the book at least we're talking about one page warscrolls for each so it's either a change or some heavy print padding.
  8. Mancrusher Mob and Mancrusher Gargant as separate warscrolls. Also, there's an allies section now. It's gonna be way easier to run SoB armies if you're allowed to fill points with allies.
  9. Sure, but they were teased/leaked far far ahead of even the initial april fools not-joke announcement. Now, 40K gets way more leaks and accurate rumors than we do in general but even so, there's always chatter when a big thing is looming. If not outright leaks, then Warhammer Community dropping heavy-handed hints, a suspicious clustering of rumor engines, or what have you. It's more or less confirmed now that the only genuinely large AoS release for the entire year is STD, and we got a massive leak for that 6+ months in advance of it's scheduled release date. Not saying it's impossible mind, just...I've been pounding the rumor beat for a couple of years now, and I can't recall the last major reveal that wasn't already anticipated to some degree or another. Big secrets tend to be too big to be truly secret.
  10. I hope so, but On the other hand...I dunno. Out of the 10 or so armies that are left to update after STD, there's not many that I would peg as big updates being likely. Dawnbringers/CoS are confirmed but probably farther out than the first half of 2023. Slaanesh, Khorne, Gits, Soulblight, KO, I wouldn't bet on these getting more than a model+book or maybe slightly more at best. Seraphon or BoC maybe,..it doesn't help that there's no rumors for anything after STD. Big releases typically don't just materialize out of the ether, and we're not really that far out from 2023 at this point.
  11. Yeah, thinking about it there's nothing really to announce between now and January for AoS, painful as that is to accept. They've already shown off the STD special box and most of the new minis. We've seen the one model for Mawtribes and the upgrade sprue for SoB. Just a Warcry box and maybe an Underworlds box, but imagine doing a major preview show with no AoS reveals, only sidegames. Personally I'm just burnt out that GW keeps making the "Focus on 40K" decision over and over, when they've even acknowledged in their shareholder report that AoS is behind schedule and losing momentum. It's frustrating when the wheel never seems to turn in the other direction.
  12. He looks generic because he's the most cobbled together from reused parts out of all of them. He shares one arm and his loincloth bit with the Gatecrasher and his backpiece with the Warstomper, only the club and head are new from what I can tell.
  13. Five options in one kit probably wouldn't fit in a box, I could see them offering an alternate box that builds this guy and King Brodd instead of the other three.
  14. Like a feather headdress made out of metal...seems slightly more likely to be 40K, just on account of the metal thing but I'm not sure if anything looks like that for any GW range.
  15. Yeah, lots of armored hands there. Not to mention an abundance of axes, maces, hammers, and short, heavy swords. Not something you normally see too much from the old Empire models outside of Warrior Priests and the like. Makes me think we'll see a more medieval-ish aesthetic with heavy armor and heavy, practical weapons over the old feather and pajama look, but not actually lower tech, since we know they still have firearms and probably other steampunk wonders like cogforts and such.
  16. Bro, Windchargers are not a popular unit. Literally no one uses them ever. Now maybe they'll be better in the new tome, but as for all of LRL history up to this point, they've been the polar opposite of popular.
  17. Wha...What's going on there behind Teclis? Who's hiding behind that rock?
  18. Honestly I think they just forgot it existed and now it's too late to come clean.
  19. You have to admit though that Maneaters are uniquely well suited to be done as a Warcry band. 3-6 Ogres all with a unique "look" and equipment loadouts, 2-3 gnoblars to round out the warband if needed. Still, it's just a theory. Maneaters going out of production and slowly selling out starting like six months ago is not a theory though, that's deliberate action. It's just the Maneaters too, every other Ogre resin model is still available.
  20. Range Rotation usually gets some sort of mention though, and the Maneaters have been gone for months.
  21. I don't think SoB players are really itching for their $800 army to arbitrarily go to $1000, personally.
  22. No official mention, most speculation hinges on two things. 1. The old resin Maneaters models are all gone from the webstore, would be rather odd (but not unheard of) for GW to axe them now of all times without a replacement or even acknowledging the fact. 2. The new Warcry setting is set near the Gutfort and there's some rather pointed mentions of Ogre Butchers in Heart of Ghur that may be hinting at an Ogor warband. That said, the next Warcry box is almost definitely the Seraphon one, so if Ogors do get a warband it won't be until next year.
  23. I haven't been a big fan of most of the troops but I am digging the characters. Probably because they're more blatantly Dwarf looking.
  24. Source on that image? Never mind I see it, typical of GW to post the full banner somewhere else.
  25. It's not necessarily true that this new Hunter is beastclaw. In fact, I'm guessing it's the opposite. Icebrow Hunter=Beastclaw Raiders Bloodpelt Hunter=Gutbusters
