  1. I've registered to WH+ on the first day you could, so I should get one mini per year for free and have the option to buy the second exclusive one if I wanted to. GW owes me my year 2 mini as I can't order it anymore (and didn't order it before) but it was never stated to be a timed exclusive, you just needed to be subscribed in that year. You get one mini per year you are subscribed to, so since I'm a subscriber since year 1, I should be able to order the missing one. Right now, I got the minis for year 1 and 3. Once again, it doesn't matter, the figure is mostly a big meh anyways but they should've said that you need to order them until date X in order to get them (I claimed them early and expected to be able to get them when i next order other stuff along with it). Edit: whoops, thought this was a new post and I didn't explain it well enough.
  2. Yes. Also order the one included in your subscription ASAP, don't be a moron like me! Perhaps they will produce another run but currently you can't order the first and second year minis anymore. This and not giving non-UKers a chance to get the Steel Rook seriously annoys me. I don't need those minis, it's not like they're important in a Tzeentch collection but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Or not being able to get the Nurgle herald for AGES (and we all know that it's a standout mini). GW fails so often in recent years and it's a shame as for a couple of years they did pretty much everything right. Now they're in self-sabotaging mode. Sorry for the negativity, I don't want to whine, I just want Warhammer to flourish and it feels like they stand in their own way.
  3. They still owe me my Slaves sorceress from year 2 and I can‘t order it now and despite writing them I never got it. I can live without it (tho I‘d like the little cultist familiar) but it sucks that these minis are time-sensitive despite them never stating they are. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I thought I‘d order it along with some stuff so that I don‘t cause them extra shipping but let‘s just say that I‘ve learned something for the future. Every nice deed gets punished instantly! 😆
  4. This. And then those minis can't be ordered after some time and they don't tell you that. 😂
  5. The sculpts in this starter set are definitely top-tier. Now if only they removed battle tactics. 😇
  6. As good as the new SCE sculpts are, Skaven will steal the show no matter what, even if SCE got an amazing surprise mini in the box or whatever I think. People haven‘t got any significant Skaven release in ages (at least no real AoS release, just some scraps here and there like WH Underworlds) and SCE - while really well made - are „just more Stormcast“. I think the general reactions by people align with that assessment, not trying to diss them….it‘s just that the fandom has waited ages for Skaven and NO army with a ton of releases in the last years could get that kind of reaction. When Sephiroth was babbling about a homecoming, he was probably talking about Skaven finally getting AoS stuff! *rat-logic* edit: What I’m trying to say, without wanting to come iff as a SCE hater: It‘s a testament to the quality of the new SCE minis that non-SCE players are remotely positive about SCE getting so much stuff again to be honest. I like SCE but find it annoying that some factions got nothing while SCE gets remade units already… and I find that at least the new minis are great updates overall (although I think the old liberator heads were great tbh) so that makes the pill easier to swallow in a way. Hope I got my point across. Now we need Ogors and Malerion at least before existing forces get stuff. 😇
  7. Well, there have been some pretty strong melee fighters among Tzeentchians too but yeah, in general most Tzeentchians aren't amazing in CC and there need to be some drawbacks somewhere (they could do it via points though). I figure Tzeentch might get such a unit when they get a mortal elite one day. At least I hope so but I'm now breaking my own very own rules in this thread if I continue. 😂 I think others like Lumineth having such units isn't wrong though (they are supposed to be extremely gifted mages after all), it's just feels really wrong that Tzeentch hasn't got them and the overabundance of mortals isn't great fun for the receiving player. I think spells could (and perhaps should) move away from mortal wounds as the standard as well. Not every spell should have damage that qualifies as a mortal wound IMO.
  8. The first few words gave me a heart palpitations, mate. Thankfully after "besides" I could function properly again!
  9. … it can‘t have anything to do with your faction! It could be rules, miniature releases, updates or changes, background, kits… what would you do? I‘d want more basic terrain in plastic, hills, cliffsides, swamps, whatever, maybe even printed neoprene mats. I figure all these things don‘t sell too well as there have been more generic offerings in the past by GW but I think they would help a lot of tables. There‘s only so much you can do with ruined buildings and lightweight terrain building is difficult enough that most people don‘t bother.
  10. Well, if they add other faction‘s minis on the base, then I‘d like that to be optional. In general I‘m pretty ambivalent towards them although I think I have a very slight preference for no tactical rock but it‘s definitely not a dealbreaker for me. It fits very special minis, like those inspired from artwork or special editions or unique characters better than basic heroes IMO.
  11. Disregarding your tone and that it’s possible with probably every faction (SOB might be the exception) to get it done, how is making sure that two units wander off to fulfill the battle tactic any fun at all? That‘s my bigger gripe with battle tactics. Do random stuff for points. That‘s like when you have to do extra things in hard mode of a game (not use ability X, don‘t jump, whatever) for a challenge. Whoever came up with this should go back to the basics. I don‘t see Chess going „yo, move your knight in a circle 3 times and you‘ll get another queen“ and I dare to say that Chess is like a thousand times better as a ruleset than any GW game. I know, apples and oranges but GW‘s main concern with their rule sets should be to make the basic framework great before adding tons of extra rules. They only make the game deeper by making the players having to keep more stuff in mind. The battle tactics in 4th might be better than 3rd ed‘s but I‘d rather have it closer to 2nd than 3rd.
  12. I really don‘t like the battle tactics. If I want to play a game in a game, I‘ll play FF7 Rebirth where I can at least look at Tifa. I hope that the modular nature of the rules will truly let people not use that aspect.
  13. What I wonder after seeing the WarCry ones - will Ogors in general become more monstrous? The classic Ogor looks like a giant powerlifter (well, a very unattractive interpretation of one) but the new ones reminded me more of something like ghouls on steroids. I‘ve got no real opinion on or preference regarding Ogors but those minis made me think that the ones closer to humans will just be part of Cities and the Mawtribes might become more „unique“ in appearance? Barbaric traits are pretty much Darkoath‘s thing now so perhaps GW wants to reinvent Ogors a bit? 🤔 Would Ogor fans like that or not is what I‘m basically asking myself…
  14. Vallejo recently just redid their model color line similarly like they’ve redone their game colors. I ordered a couple to see how they turned out but the game colors became really great with the update. Two Thin Coats is hard to get for me unfortunately, would‘ve liked to try them. Kimera I‘ve yesterday tried at a friend‘s place when I helped him with a terrain piece - they‘re pretty epic but totally wrong for what he wanted in the piece (muted, drab colors), they‘re like the exact opposite to that. 😂👏 If you like vibrant colors and like mixing (both with each other and thinning), they might be a really solid pick!
  15. I'll be the unpopular one and say that while I don't want herohammer, I'd like to see that the power-level of a hero is not entirely dependent on said hero being a centerpiece. In AoS the strong heroes are usually large and on big bases, I adore the few exceptions like Gotrek or the Ironjawz warboss that are really tough despite being on smaller bases. I understand that we won't get Khorne champions that kill whole units back and it might be way better this way but I feel like most single heroes are there for their buffs, not because they themselves are a threat! Edit: Oh and I'd really like some sort of customization. Make it a point sink, a very unwise one, but it's cool to cool to build your very own powerful character to me.
  16. Awesome, that sounds absolutely great for "our" setting/game! 🥰
  17. Would be interesting to know numbers for AoS in regards to 40k's trajectory back when it became big. It's really difficult to say how much of a success AoS is but I get the feeling that it is very steadily growing and thankfully GW puts enough work/assets into it. I often read something akin to "I collect 40k but am interested into getting into AoS" on Reddit and other platforms. They often got no other players though but I figure it's gotta start somewhere, at least it shows that people are definitely intrigued by it!
  18. No idea, I feel like a show with lots of Custodes sounds like it would be a sitcom in the Emperor‘s palace as they‘re not exactly the kind of force that travels the galaxy… but perhaps they will feature heavily to make Cavill happy? Maybe they go the Altered Carbon route with having an outsider like an Inquisitor come into the setting and that just happens to be somewhere where Custodes are present?
  19. I read he got hired but don‘t know if he still works there or what he worked on. It wouldn‘t surprise me if he didn‘t get the appreciation he should be getting in the corpo world though. Seen that happen with lots of artists unfortunately.
  20. Well, the Nintendo line is the guy obviously taking the ****** outta it. I just summarized what I‘ve seen on YT. I think Fallout has been a decent adaption, I‘m not a huge Fallout fan bit played some of the games and that show gave me hope for 40k. The single one comment in all the debate that really annoyed me on Youtube was that Fallout‘s Brotherhood of Steel was the inspiration for GW. 😂
  21. I feel like they should just ask the Astartes guy to pitch something. A single creator managed to pull off something really unique with tons of cool scenes/visuals.
  22. Would‘ve been just as dumb but it‘s pretty clear Sisters of Silence were the female equivalent (broadly speaking) to Custodes, so the Custodes move is all in all pretty damn dumb as well. Main problem I see (and I personally don‘t care too much about Custodes, for me they‘re the flaming homosexuals from If The Emperor Had A Text-To-Speech-Device as that was just too funny, so that‘s my headcanon and I don‘t want any other) is that fans IMO really overreact cause people are sick of the whole woke thing and usually it doesn‘t stop at just one change which makes them fear that it won’t be adapted well and the pro-female-Custodes side not acknowledging that the preference for a Custodes boy‘s club is valid in some ways, because they were always portrayed that way and simply instead use the typical killer arguments that those who dislike the change are right-wingers, misogynistic or behind the times. Youtube is a battlefield right now with a lot of the content creators hating on it and very few thinking it‘s good, it‘s definitely very negative for GW and Amazon. There‘s also a rumor that Henry Cavill hates it so much he might drop out of the show as it reminds him of the whole Witcher fiasco but not sure if there is any truth to it. Apparently Amazon asked for female Custodes for the show. I‘m here and just thinking that I‘m glad I got no real stakes in this and that the obvious solution would‘ve been one of the Sisters (Battle or Silence, although I’d prefer more Sisters of Silence stuff) but w/e. But it‘s best to not discuss it here further as you‘ve got two groups of people in the fandom and neither will get convinced by the other anyways. I just hope this won‘t have too much of a negative impact and will tell everyone that is working on adaptions to view the lore as sacred. While this particular issue doesn‘t bother me (I don‘t like it either however, I‘m just ambivalent mostly, I wouldn‘t want other aspects to get changed just to make it more appealing to the boring masses. I‘d be instantly out if the Imperium was a nice place for example or similar totally wrong stuff. I‘d also be rotating in my chair if we got female Spees mahrines like this tho, not gonna lie! 🤣 They should‘ve introduced the idea through the lore, like with Primaris IMO.
  23. I gotta be honest with you; I think Skaven is a great (and at the moment the likeliest!) guess but these RE images are so often misleading that it could also be Nighthaunt, some WarCry warband, Hobgrots or anything/anyone else that got some dinged up equipment. Since I think all these options are less likely in the near future, logic dictates Skaven. But watch me being wrong with my reasoning and it's for a new hero called Stinky Joe, a total loser Kharadron Overlord that uses oil-bombs and can't keep his equipment and personal hygiene in order.
  24. Yeah, I think you‘re onto something. It would certainly fit visually!
