  1. O M G, you're just a hater! I hope we will get another chamber with new Stormcast minis, ideally with close combat weapons that look just like all the others. Seeing how every new release looked better slimmer than the one before, the fourth big wave (the Chamber Anorexis) will be harder to hit and have a projectile/vomit attack. Personally I can't wait. This chamber will help me wait for the upcoming update of the Primaris range - it's so lame how little they've released for them. I've been told that they've downsized the upcoming Old World range/scope (by removing overrepresented factions such as Skaven and Lizardmen, thank God, who needs those) so that we can get more Stormcast and Marines. Perhaps a small Lumineth wave will fit in too. 😎
  2. I think once the Lumineth range is finally in a healthy state, Stormcast and Slaves to Darkness could use a couple of kits, especially Chaos cultists are needed. After that: another wave of Space Marines, yeehaw! 😎
  3. Does that mean the bachelor will return as a ghost-daemon who sounds like Chris Latta? 🤔 And Archaon becomes crazy shortly after? If yes, then I'm all for it.
  4. 101% agreed. It might also just be me but I rarely find the big bads all that interesting. Leadership takes a toll on narrative possibilities with them - in the champion of Chaos book back in Warhammer, I also found Archaon to be the least interesting one with the lesser champions like Valnir, Count Mordrek or Aekold to be more interesting.
  5. I know someone else who whines just like you! Unfortunately he doesn't like sand, so you two can't cry together. 😔
  6. Those are the least busiest models of the new unit and that's why they're some of the better looking ones. The overall style isn't bad per se but throw in random horns, some old chainmail and it feels as if you just took perfectly fine Cities of Sigmar models and glued some random Chaos bits on them. That's why I've "complained".
  7. I find those new Legionnaires really bad actually. The Centaur is great but the others look like a way too busy mix of random stuff and design elements thrown together and I don‘t think the end result is very appealing, especially the horns don‘t fit IMO. Legs and upper body also seem too busy for their own good. I didn‘t read the article though, perhaps there‘s a good reason for it. I would‘ve gone Ludwig Mies van der Rohe on their butts tho and streamlined the design… less is more.
  8. He already came back. As a Stormcast! As a Jedi I have lots of compassion, so I won‘t rub it in, that‘s gotta hurt enough as it is.
  9. I will and now that I can talk to long dead things, I‘ll tell your precious Settra you said hi. 😎 PS: I went to Owen‘s school of sick burns, I have the high ground!
  10. I think what everything needs is just plain old common sense. Tolerance is a term that comes almost with "baggage" these days but yes, we could argue for days - and it would be interesting for sure.
  11. Your argument borders on being an unreasonable demand. Things evolve and GW (and the companies that work with their IP) didn't stop to portray the Imperium as dubious at best (and very often joke about their factions too...), perhaps you should play some of the games or read more 40k stories. Sometimes said Empire does things that is bad for the involved Space Marines (or other Imperials) too. 40k is a place full of evil factions and it's multi-faceted, with many levels of grey. Can you be a grey to evil character and still be the protagonist? Yes, especially if most other factions are arguably worse than you. Can you be evil and perform acts of heroism (especially in the eyes of people allied with you)? Yes. The fluff is usually written from the perspective of the main faction - that's the Imperium (and used to be the Empire in WHFB). So it should definitely be taken into account, which is something you just swipe away but it is important as it recontextualizes many things. Stop playing Warhammer if you can't stomach the fact that its main faction are fictional fascists, it won't change for you (at least I hope not). Or play Chaos and let them burn, even better! But there are a ton of evil factions in fiction that people find cool and that are therefore portrayed more sympathetically over time (or at least in part), so if we followed your idea, we'd have to rewrite lots of stuff, not just 40k. You wanna burn down the whole house because of a couple of spiders.
  12. Nothing you can do about it though unless you want to censor the setting though - you wanna put disclaimers on the minis/books? Perhaps they like their IP as it is, despite some looneys taking it at face value? The timing might've been less than ideal but thankfully the majority are not like that. Also, Space Marines themselves don't have to be bad either (and yes, there are obviously lots of bad apples among the loyalists too), they just serve a bad empire (in a galaxy full of bad factions). I'm sure lots of people drive Ferraris who have opinions the company doesn't share either (think Middle East). And yes, different product with no fitting "message" but ultimately when you go out of your way to exclude a certain group, the whole thing will suffer. I'd suggest to simply not bother with people that have values you won't tolerate and enjoy it with people who you actually like. I enjoy games, movies, books, music, etc. that are liked by people I probably won't get along with either - so what, should I complain about that now too?
  13. This was your chance to ****** with people and you just threw it away! 😚😁
  14. Sorry, I'll probably collect downvotes but that's a ridiculous notion and I gotta disagree. That's like claiming George Lucas made SW for fascists because the Empire is clearly leaning that way. You might not like the world they've created but - despite being portrayed as heroes BY IMPERIALS (very important distinction, ask an Eldar and you'll get a VERY different point of view) - GW makes it abundantly clear that the IoM is not an ideal state, far from it actually, and its current state literally sickens its biggest heroes(!!!!) like Roboute Guilliman. It's less of a parody than it started out as but that doesn't mean they actively market to that crowd. Idiots are idiots, you'd be wise not to engage. Personally I'm not a fan of all real-life or overtly comical (to a point that they don't fit the setting anymore) influences (outside of serving as inspiration) in Warhammer. Whether right or left, RL politics have no place in the armies of a fictional universe...have them echo things but more than that is needless as social and political issues can be expressed/discussed via different outlets much better. No need to misuse a hobby for that.
  15. Yeah, the 40k rules are a drag tbh. It‘s why I always argue against AoS getting more complex. Personally I‘m not a big fan of the direction 3rd ed went in rule-wise. It makes sense but ultimately it was awesome that AoS was quite easy to play, especially for new players. Too many rules are not fun at first. Unfortunately I don't have a solution for a good balance. But the best games are easy to learn and hard to master (chess e.g.), so that‘s what I always hope for the GW systems… oh and why did they use symbols instead of numbers in killteam? That one eludes me too, really. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  16. Yeah, I think AoS really needs less Aelfs and they really need to update the rest of the Eldar range ASAP (time to roll your eyes again, Alpharius). Some of them went to kindergarten with the Seraphon and Skaven minis, they're that old. Chaos, apart from Khorne (coming soon) and Slaanesh really don't need much love. Of course, a kit here or there is always welcome but Chaos has never been as healthy as they are now overall. It's a great time for us, really. if I had any wish, it would be that it would be easier/better to mix and match the Chaos forces. I love forces made out of various very different units instead of just marines for example. So yeah, I totally agree with you - 40k needs a year of Xenos. I'm glad we're getting Space Dwarves, as their loss has been lamented since I first started but a bit more alien stuff would be cool. Perhaps as part of Tau or something. Oh and my biggest wish: A plastic lictor. Dunno why but I love those things.Would instantly buy a plastic one (love the new bat-nid and malanthrope too).
  17. Oh, they really gave Azazel a ton of character. When he laughs at the end, he somehow reminds me a bit of the Rammstein singer who sometimes also has this particular mix of honest glee and slight insanity going on. Khorne Lord is a beast too, they certainly get the looks right. I still don't understand how the old Champions of Chaos book could describe people being unable to resist Azazel's allure though. He's certainly no Sigvald. Guess he got that Prince Xizor pheromone thing going on. 😆
  18. You like Xenos more, yet bought Space Marines? They oversaturated 40k with marines almost since day 1. SM are cool, no doubt about it but the Primaris transition made it extra hard on people that don't particularly care for them as GW had to replace so many kits. I think they should've just upscaled all marines and be done with it, no need for Primaris lore. Apparently Primaris Terminators will come soon. And they actually look like the old ones but upsized. Which is awesome in my book, so I'm glad those at least come. But I'd also rather see more stuff for other races. GW certainly plays favorites with some armies and actually creates an imbalance on purpose I think by expanding the armies that sell well so that they will sell even better. Understandable but in the long run it has its drawbacks for the health of the game.
  19. Personally I don't care all that much but I'd like them to use the chance and turn units that are needed in AoS into new warbands... would be a cool way to give armies that really need a bone thrown into their general direction new units. I'd also prefer fewer Chaos warbands. Chaos got enough cultists units already, barely any of them can be really used in AoS as few have decent warscrolls.
  20. Don't speak too soon, I'm sure they'll find new stuff to add to Lumineth shortly after the new book is out.... while the Skaven molds themselves ask for an exorcist! 🤣
  21. The Lumineth vs Tzeentch cashgrab is no major release though! It‘s just an extra annoying way to give me a new Curseling (I want it now! 😭), where I got to work together with a totally misguided Lumineth player (ewww) to split the box. Oh, the horror! Did they really think they could get *me* to collect Lumineth? Thankfully I actually need more Acolytes and Tzaangors. I‘m like the only Tzeentch player in the world at this point. (More Enlightened/Skyfires are of no use for me either, so why can‘t they just release the two cool models and make them a bit more expensive and be done with it?) Yes, I‘m ranting once again but that‘s actually my biggest hobby, so it‘s all good. 😎
  22. Yes, absolutely. But if almost all military actions happen via realm gates (and as far as I'm aware, there aren't all that many), they'd all be fortified positions (think Cadia in 40k) and pretty much them (or the garrisons) and their surroundings would be the "hot spots" of the setting, with the vast rest of the realms (something I find worse than properly defined, smaller realms - the main point I'm actually arguing) being more or less uninteresting on a global scale unless an invasion bears fruit and army X just rampages through another realm (then they wouldn't care for those locations either though). I'm not sure if dividing realms between major factions is all that practical either. It isn't all that logical in my sight and frankly only supports gigantic forces clashing into each other, as a smaller raiding party would - in a setting where they thought about the consequences - simply be destroyed on the other side of the realm gate thus making travel via realm gates uninteresting. I just don't see how gigantic realms are a tangible bonus and as far as I'm aware, people like the already well-defined spots in AoS best. But to each their own, it's not like it stops me from enjoying AoS, I just think that narratively it's not a strong choice and only sounds cool on paper. I just see a couple of gigantic realms that each should house lots of locations not really comparable to the idea of stars in 40k, where they can cherry-pick destinations much easier which in a way that reduces the overall vastness (emptiness) and thus make the setting compelling. But in time these things will be better defined too, AoS is still young.
