  1. Mine as well. I started my Skaven army with a pure Pestilens list in 2017 when staffs still gave extra attacks being able to attack from the third row. We will see. I am expecting weapon profiles to get streamlined. And the way GW operates lately I would expect some little used models to be crucial in the new book so we all buy new stuff.
  2. Then I would rather use 30 monks. As of now you get even more attacks, exploding sixes, chance on doing mortal wounds when dying...
  3. Depends on how you had your clanrats built. All of mine have speers so I got most into melee already even in larger blocks. Also you can only use allout attack once per phase. Do you really spend that on clanrats? Plus the old rule could benefit more than one unit. Frankly I don't see this as a significant boost on larger units. I think I would use clanrats as min-units to have more waves and be able to screen more rounds (especially now that we seem to lose a number of ways to deal with battleshock).
  4. I am afraid it won't. The first article on the new book said (at the bottom) there would be three factionwide battle traits. So that would be those three from the second article.
  5. New book goes into pre-order next saturday. The new Vanguard box looks OK but a Skryre hero would have made much more sense.
  6. I don't think it can work that way (or at least rarely) because you still can't pile a model further away from the closes enemy. I would guess the main goal here would be to shield your important units from combats they don't want and stopping your opponent from piling into them.
  7. Well... The Masterclan bodyguard rule is nice and you don't even need Stormvermin for that. The three hero rule is extremely swingy. If your first run or charge is good - nice. If not 🤷‍♂️ The Verminus rule is basically a nerf. We had that for free and now will have to spend our heroic action to get an extra command trait on a non-general Clawlord. Sure now you can switch traits but I am not sure if that is that big of an improvement. The Eshin rule looks good on paper but it heavily depends on decent warscrolls for Eshin units (maybe some stealth-abilities to get to their targets) and bringing some models people would want to buy, paint and play.
  8. Most stuff is still available at least online. But yeah, I still expect some roster-cuts in the new book. There was a List going around about when the current models were first released. (It isn't 100 % correct -the Dommflayer for example is resin not metal). I saw it coming up regarding the new Sylvaneth-Skaven box and how much of a bargain is may or may not be. It is kind of silly how much money GW asks vor thirteen year old models. The Eshin sculpts are more than 20 years old. I mean seriously... There is still a little hope for some updates like when they gave Bloodknights a facelift when the Gravelord book came out last year. But I think our problem is that Skaven don't have that many players starting new armies and buying a lot of models. Most I know are long time rat-players who do a maintenance purchase every now and then - often second hand. And that shows. When the Carrion Empire box came out three years ago you could still get it (or the Skaven part) for month after the release. Right now the swap groups are full of Sylvaneth players trying to sell the Skaven models from the new box for very little money and they aren't finding many buyers.
  9. I think they are moving everything there that isn't sold anymore.
  10. He has been moved to the "Warhammer Legends" section but he is still in the app.
  11. I think we will really need to wait for the book. There are too many open questions like 1. Will the Snoutgravel Robe (or something taking it's place) remain in the game so the bell could still give battleshock immunity at the cost of not taking anither artefact. 2. Will we still have the "lead from the back" ability for every hero that is not a monster? 3. What new rules, abilities etc. will we get. On the other hand the lady can only summon one 95 point unit of Dryads and costs like 90 points more that the bell.
  12. Probably, especially since the Deathmaster can't even use his missile attacks the turn he shows up.
  13. Frankly I am pretty disappointed. I would have preferred something like the rules for the Underworlds warband to still simply hiding in a unit. The poison-rule got a little bit better and the shooting improved slightly. On the other hand he now has fewer attacks so that is probably a zero-sum trade. Still very little rend, no command ability... The shooting should statistically come down to 1-2 wounding hits (1,25). Against a 4+ save we are lucky to cause 1 wound on average. Combat is a little better. 2-3 (2,22) wounding hits at -1. Probably his bast chance of doing a little damage is rolling that 1-2 sixes per turn and doing some MWs. I can see him killing some weaker 5-wound target (as long as there is no ward etc.). But this Deathmaster is far from being a threat to most valuable targets.
  14. Maybe they will keep the artefact (some robe) to give battleshock immunity. Especially with multiple Clanrat units that can make a difference. Any way this looks very Skaven-like. Not sure how strong it will be (I would guess not too much) but it is thematic.
  15. It is especially silly since clanrats with spears still have 2" range. Yes but I think this could really give our small 5-wound characters a little much needed longevity. Not sure if it it worth the points though since you would have to keep the Stormvermin in the back close to your heroes.
  16. Clanrats also now generally have a 5+ save but lost the shield-rule. That is what I meant by streamlining and it doesn't have to be bad.
  17. I didn't say we will get a worse Battletome. I said I don't see GW powering up Skaven. They will stay a lower mid tier army. I am pretty sure they will get streamlines because that's what happened to most books so far. Attack profiles will be combined etc. which doesn't have to be a bad thing. That doesn't make any sense. They just expanded the range of the Idoneth infantry and Lumineth with lances even have 3" range.
  18. We will see. A facelift for the Eshin models would do. They did it with the Blood Knights last year. Question ist how much they will power up Skaven and since there aren't that many new models to sell I don't think they will rise into one of the upper tiers. The last couple of books had a good internal balance but that wasn't an issue with the current battletome. Other than that some profile will get streamlined and that will be it.
  19. There is still a chance. They rarely put (much) new stuff in the boxes. People buy new units at full price so why give them a discount? Nighthaunt also got a bunch on new models announced after the box. So it could still happen. I wouldn't bet on it though.
  20. I see myself leaning more and more towards Bolt Action lately. Pretty much everything GW has done the last couple of month just repels me. The model is kind of nice although I not a big fan of model-terrain combos. That makes it harder to fit the theme of the army and every environment the match takes place in. But yes I will take a look at the profile and then maybe get one.
  21. Don't know. Clanrats are still at 130 and that (apart from Plague Monks) are the main horde unit for Skaven. Bell also stays the same. The increase on the Deathmaster could be an indicator of a strong warscroll. Maybe he really is a hero killer. The composition of the box is another topic. That is disappointing. Prettey much every long time Skaven player will have multiples of that units already. So the only reason to buy this set would be FOMO. And I don't plan to fall for that (again).
  22. We will have to wait and see. The way GW works right now I could the a boxset with one new unit (being the new death master) just as well as a facelift for all Eshin models. What units would you put into such a box if not Eshin? The Deathmaster might really be a hero killer. But with a small model and the increasing number of large heroes I have doubts that he will be a match for "most targets" as the article claims. (Unless you count every 1-3 wound infantry model as a target). I don't think we will see any of this until July or probably August any way.
  23. I am always amazed how many wounds you guys cause reliably. I had that happen on a few occasions but not nearly with that regularity. Much more often even the turtle is just shrugged off lately.
  24. They teased more Eshin models without going into detail.
