  1. It would be almost unprecedented if all of the infantry kits we have seen thus far are not duel kits. I have a strong feeling that the alarith stonemage and Stoneguard are duel kits able to represent other geomantic spirits with alternate heads and weapons. What is most telling is that the only place on either of those kits you see the symbol of the mountain is on the heads, and staff. No where on all of their robes or armor can we see the rune of the mountain, which seems really odd unless those kits are a generic base intended for multiple builds.
  2. So you've never seen a seeker of slaanesh? What about a fiend of slaanesh, or the demonic mount for a slaaneshi lord, In a lot of old world stories slaanesh daemons take the form of snakes to tempt mortals (with obvious christian overtones, but still slaanesh has used it more than other chaos gods). How about this old chestnut? The classic slaaneshi champion. The lore of slaanesh consuming all aelf souls predates the designs of the new aelf ranges. I simply cannot imagine how you can have such a visceral disconnect and deny that that lore had any influenced on the serpentine theme of dok. Totally silly.
  3. This! Also don’t leave out the kadaii destroyer from chaos dwarves or the bale Taurus. There is nothing overtly slaaneshii in the choice of a bull or oxen as an animal spirit. @Nos just because you choose to discount the slaaneshi design influences in the new daughters of Khaine doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Morathi wasn’t a snake monster before slaanesh swallowed her, that’s just how she looks after eons of torture inside slaanesh. And slaanesh has more of a serpentine inspiration than a bovine one which has only ever been seen on the keeper of secrets and then, only on one of several head options.
  4. Something I found interesting from the video, in the lore that Phil Kelly detailed about the Mountain spirit, is that the mountain spirit is still just a mountain, sentient and magical but still a mountain. It's the aelves that crafted an avatar for the Mountain spirit to inhabit and march to war "They wear these sacred masks that enable them to take form". and "transfer their mountain spirits into a host body" Phil kelly also named the creature that the mountain aleves revere, calling it an "Emetricon Longhorn" which is a creature on the slopes of mountains in hysh, that is effectively immortal. It can only be killed by another, not of natural causes. He says to the elves, these creatures embody endurance, Imortality and stoicism and that is why the elves of the mountain path take them as their sacred beast. So from this it seems like the bull motif was a choice by the elves, that they themselves imprinted bull aestetic onto the mountain spirit avatar on the mountains. That's all to say it has nothing directly to do with Slanesh impacting the design of aelves in age of sigmar. However, that said, Slaanesh impacting the appearence of the new aelves is already well established. The serpentine form of Morathi, and by extension her melusai are stated to be artifacts of their internment within slaanesh. The lack of eyes on nemarti in the idoneth range as well is a design choice meant to "taint" the appearance of new aelves by association with slaanesh. The new aleves incorporating slaanesh is nothing new.
  5. I don't think this is correct. When Phil Kelly was talking about the lore of the lumineth, and the civil war. He certainly made it sound like the elemental spirit/aelf alliance happened after the the civil war to make amends for the damage that their apocalyptic magic did to realm. In thethe first lumineth lowdown as well, they state that the Elemental path was instituted by Teclis, and in the most 4th (i think) Lowdown, they mention how teclis is the master of all 4 elemental focuses. So I just don't see the civil war being tyrion/teclis and half of the elements on one side. as it all points to a post civil war reorganization lead by Teclis.
  6. Aaand it has now been officialy canceled.
  7. Also, I've seen a lot of people online complaining about this saying that they would be happy to "sign a waver" to show up, that hey "don't mind getting sick", ect. But It's important that people understand why big gatherings like this are being thoughtfully canceled/postponed. It's not about individuals getting sick, but about them becoming contagious and spreading the virus to more people once they leave. A rapid spike in people getting sick can lead to healthcare services getting overwhelmed, as there are only so many nurses, doctors or even beds in hospitals. By slowing the spread through postponing events like this, it also lowers the transmission vectors, and so perhaps the same number of people still end up catching the illness, but it happens over a longer period of time allowing, health services to keep pace with demand for aid. tldr; It's not just about keeping you (an individual) from getting sick, but about slowing the spread of infection.
  8. So it's looking like adepticon is going to get canceled. Chicago has canceled their saint patricks parades/river dying and Illinois seems to be following California's lead in canceling events with more than 250 people. That combined with the 30 travel ban to the US from Europe which just got announced means, while they haven't officially canceled it, I would be very surprised if it went on now. This from today:
  9. I think it is the damsel. If you look at her, and the chalice, you can see the chalice (silver and gold bowl) behind her, look just to the left of her neck. Additionally, the colors on the sleeve of the hand holding the chalice match the sleeve color placement of the damsel
  10. Awesome. I doubt that we are going to get 4 different archmage models to represent the mountain/river/wind/Zenith in addition to other heroes so I'm betting that this miniature has a staff/head swap to represent a devotee of any of the 4 elements.
  11. Looking for a Bugman's Tankard, not one of his miniatures which is why this is a bit harder to source.
  12. Hey guys, I'm currently living in the US and a trip to Warhammer world is out of reach. My best mate's birthday is coming up in a few months and I would love to get him a Bugman's Bar Ceramic Tankard, as he is an avid Dwarf/Duardin player. Is there anyone who would be willing to make a trip to Warhammer world to pick one up, and ship it back to the states. I would of course cover shipping, and a tip for your help in addition to the cost of the Tankard itself. Please DM me, or reply here if anyone is able/willing to help. Thank you.
  13. As many, I'm excited to get my brush on some Lumineth, so to tide myself over I decided to take a crack at some Lumineth Themed terrain for my gaming table. One of the features I loved the most in the reveal trailer were the magically floating rocks that GW's scenery department made to compliment the Lumineth to I attempted to replicate that to spruce up the bases for these Aelven Waystones.
  14. I loved Geokenisis for space marines in 7th edition 40k. I would love for some abilities like that. My favorite was called " Shifting Worldscape" being able to pick up and redeploy a terrain feature doing damage to units that were inside the terrain as you move it across the board. Anything less than this and i will be disappointed. Imagine being able to redeploy enemy faction specific terrain?
  15. I agree that I don't see Tyrion as part of this release, though I'm the first to admit that I was always more of Teclis fan than a Tyrion one. But I don't see why all these Tyrion fans want him tacked on to a release with an army mostly made up of guys he didn't create? Wouldnt you want him to be a star in his own right, leading a unique force created to his vision down the road? From all descriptions Tyrion's Aelves sound way different from what we've seen and could certainly merit their own unique force. Based off past new factions, unless this release breaks the pattern we have from Idoneth/Bonereapers/Kharadron. We're only likely to get 10 or so kits. I personally don't want to split up half of a(n already smaller than I'd like) release to be Tyrion angelic Aelves. If they want to add Tyrion to the faction down the road, with his Angel Aelves to expand the Lumineth like a stormcast chamber? Awesome. But if we are only getting the basic 10 kit release, I'd much rather have it unified around a single vision that have it split up between two and end up leaving both feeling truncated. Honestly, Tyrion deserves better than that, as do Teclis' Aelves.
  16. There are dozens on this forum alone. And I know of at least two chaos Dwarf players in my local meta in middle of nowhere Midwest. And, as for Beasts of Chaos, I suppose all those beautiful/powerful Tzaangor models don’t count against model “neglect” ? Skaven have one of the single largest ranges, we can argue about sculpt quality and unit utility, but at the end of the day Skaven players are spoiled for choices compared to almost anyone except Stormcast. Btw, they were one of the best supported factions during the End times, getting loads of great new sculpts. That plus their new hero/terrain/endless spells puts them in a great place.
  17. Seeing all the Tyrion mentions in the newest article should put to rest peoples fears that he was snubbed in this release. However, they still seem to be putting the focus mostly on Teclis as the primary leader/figurehead of this army for the moment. I think it's looking more and more likely that initially this army will be solely Teclis leading his aelves. But then down the road Tyrion and his Aelves will be introduced to the Lumineth to create a single combined Light Elf faction. In a similar vein, I'm starting to get a feeling that perhaps Malerion and his Shadow Aelves will end up having the Daughters of Khaine subsumed into a single "Shadow Aelf Faction" instead of him getting a stand alone faction release. As a positive, this could seriously help with the perception of there being too many Aelf Factions.
  18. Not really haha,. should have been Teclis, in light reborn, as near as we can see, baring some future release, Tyrion plays no part in this faction of Aelves. Teclis is the man in charge!
  19. So after unpacking this preview I've decided that I rather like this re-imagining of the High Elves. Wardens: I love the look. They appear to be a wonderfully detailed kit, and importantly a not too over-the-top reboot of classic HIgh Elf spearmen. The faction needed these to be great (to allude to classic high elves) but not crazy wondrous and I feel like GW struck that balance perfectly. The Dawnrider Knights: Similar to the Spear men I really enjoy the look of the riders, though I wish the mounts of the Dawnriders were more fantastical/wondrous. As the reveal article said, Aelven cavalry has always been a big deal to their representations in the lore, and on the table. I think these miniatures are a spot on upgrade to the old Silverhelms, and Ellyrion Reaver miniature, but there is a problem with that. Those classic models were meant to be somewhat generic, to help them contrast with the Dragonprinces cavalry. I'm not sure how large this AOS factions release will be. I can image 2-4 heroes we haven't seen yet, a unit of archers, an elite foot unit. But The idea of all that plus a more elite cavalry unit seems unlikely to me. I worry that these dawnriders as the presumed main cavalry/potentially only cavalry of the faction for the time being, are not fantastical enough, both in terms of miniature design and ruleset. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm concerned that this "Aelven cavalry unit" won't be able to compete with other factions cavalry, riding monsters, and dracoths, and eels. LIght of Eltharion: This model is just about perfect in my opinion. Looks classically Elven, but has that weird high fantasy twist that has come to define Age of Sigmar. A light animated suit of armor is a cool concept and well executed here. Teclis & Celennar: This is one of the most Age of Sigmarfied Miniatures I have ever seen, and I think that is great. It combines the lore of the setting, with outlandish high fantasy concepts. If the Basic infantry and cavalry are meant to be more grounded, low fantasy echos of high elves, then they are contrasted beautifully by the Mage God Teclis, in all of his weird, arcane splendor. Celennar, Teclis' Mount/companion looks incredible and incredibly fun to paint. Teclis looks great as well, however, I'm disappointed that his miniature doesn't match the pose in his preview artwork, as that was incredible. That said, I don't think this is a bad miniature, It's simply that to my tastes, the artwork was flawless and the miniature, while excellent, cannot compare. In that light I almost wish we had seen the full model first before that reveal artwork. All told, I'm quite encouraged by what we have seen thus far and look forward to seeing the rest of this faction. If the unseen units are anything like the quality shown in these previewed miniatures, I think this faction could end up being superb.
  20. Nope. It is Celennar, Teclis' mount. The face has horns, the same forehead decoration, necklace and earnings as the Celennar miniature
  21. I think you're right. This is Teclis' army so I expect 1 elite unit of maybe remained swordmasters that are a unit of wizards. Most of the rumor engines that seemed aelf related dont appear to be used anywhere here, so I think its safe to say we will at least get a generic mage and Lord on mount (the antler rumor engine comes to mind here)
  22. Wonderful stuff for the Lumineth. Eltharion and his hallow armor are incredible, from concept to execution. I also like that elves have a common faction naming factor. Idoneth Syvaneth Lumineth Finally, it all looks like a great re imagining of High elves. I expect a few new generic heroes to go with this, and maybe the spearmen or cavalry are multipart. For the heroes, we still don't now what model the elven "antler" goes to, so I expect it to be for the generic Army leader characters mount. Also, no Tyrion, so these seem to be Teclis' boys and girls.
  23. I expect a teaser video, of artwork, maybe a handful of new models in the video. A full reveal of the Teclis miniature, and of course a reveal of the faction name. I also expect this faction to be Teclis only, no Tyrion.
  24. All good points, especially that there are already a glut of Aelf factions, But Elves, specifically High elves were one of if not the most popular faction in Warhammer fantasy by percentage of playerbase. And judging by the scale of the Stormcast releases compared to other AoS factions, I would not be so quick to put it past GW to try and cash in on Aelf popularity by supplying a plethora of model ranges to tap into that prior market. Really, I just don't think there is any proof in the two sources of information we have been provided about this specific release, that points to Tyrion's involvement. From the Pointy Aleves video, we have them talking about Teclis, then specifically saying (...And He's busy making a whole new army) From today's article, obviously we have a focus on Teclis and new artwork to go with his teased model silhouette from the Pointy Aelves video, but the line: (Did any of his Aelven Races aside from the Idoneth Survive?) again clearly points to this new faction as one of his races of Aelves. As well as the first paragraph which states that (The mysterious Aelves of Hysh are almost ready to be revealed - and at their head is Teclis..) As to your point about too many Aelf factions, I agree, and wish they would be more combined in a gloomspite like book, but There will likely be two factions of shadow Aelves, it seems reasonable that there will be two factions of Light Aelves, just like there will be seemingly two factions of nature Aelves in Sylvaneth and Kuronothi. More support for this comes from the Hedonites battletomb, which in the legacy of depravity section on page 25, details how in response to the resurgance of Slaaneshi forces Tyrion is indifferent to this threat, but that: (Teclis begins to gather armies of his own. he amasses the martial orders of the realm of Light and invokes ancient pacts with the spirits of Hysh to bolster his gleaming Warhosts..) Everything (which admittedly is limited to these three sources thus far) that has been explicitly provided about this new Aelf faction describes them as a race created by Teclis. We know that Morathi, Malerion, Tyrion and Teclis each get a share of Aelf souls from Slaanesh. It means that either: a.) Tyrion gave his share of souls to Teclis to craft, (which seems unlikely), b.) That this faction will be comprised of both Teclis Light aelves, and Tyrion Light aelves, which would seemingly make this a huge potential range of miniatures, or finally c.) That this faction is just Teclis', showcasing what he did with the rest of his souls and that Tyrion's Aelves are still waiting in the wings alongside Malerion. Others may certainly disagree, but based on the only evidence we currently have, I find the latter possibility the most likely.
