  1. I think it's likely Gordrakk is behind Kragnos joining this cause. From what the text says it seems Kragnos is much more of a juggernaut that smashes things and destruction forces follow in awe and not a traditional leader like Gordrakk who has goals and plans beyond just smashing things.

He has to be getting a new warscroll for this model right?   I mean the 8 wound current warscroll, doesn’t do this justice.

Since he's now the size of a greater demon (if you look at the bloodletters) I think he'll go up in power beyond all of the current greater demons in certain ways.

I use him quite often in friendly games. and he's never not a pain in the ass for my opponents. some mortal wounds will obviously erase him quickly. Unlike ethereal units he can improve his save while still ignoring rend (which is a skill I hope they keep + add some mortal wound protection). The dark master ability is also pretty strong since with some luck you can severely cripple your opponents biggest baddy for a whole round.

Hey, he passed for a lot of troubles!!!

I know... I merely jest. the old Be'lakor was always my favorite model since I got it as a teen in 2004. It was one of the models that I actually painted nicely back then too. (It's now laying in my future project box as loose parts, didn't pin  it in 2004). Since I didn't hobby for many years until a few years back  it fell apart and the paint severely chipped from moving the box around, that contained most of my pewter chaos models.

Now with this guy coming I will probably rebuild the old one as use it as a demon prince along side the big boss.

So...Cathay, Demons and Kislev...what will be the last base faction .. Chaos dwarf or Ogres ?

My bet on Ogre kingdom as the last one. Chaos dwarf as a DLC.

They also announced a new Pre-order faction reward. Which could be Chaos dwarves or Ogres.

I think Chaos dwarves are most likely because they have a smaller pool of interesting characters compared to ogre kingdoms.

  5. I’ve decided to get myself a lumineth force.

    What I’m going for is:

    1 Avalenor

    2 stonemage

    25 stoneguard

    2 spirit of the mountain

    total points: 1800

I’ve ordered 1 stonemage 10 stoneguard and 2 spirits so far (1010 total) to start off my collection. I don’t think they’ll be very competitive seeing as it’s a very small very elite army and very slow list.

It makes kind of sense, Lumineth are open to ally with the Idoneth, Teclis might feel remorse (and he is still their creator) and there is not bad blood between them and Tyrion at all. The Idoneth on the other hand won't generally ally with the Lumineth (Idoneth can't take Lumenth as allies right now). So generally you could say the Idoneth still refuse to take help from the Lumineth, but are some enclaves which are open to help out Lumineth if invited by the Lumineth to do so under certain circumstances. That would fit also with the "lore friendly" multiplayer ally table they just released in the GHB2020 where Lumineth and Idoneth can only ally as a "desperate coalition".

@Gistradagis I really doubt the Malerion's faction will turn out to be Chaos aligned. It wouldn't make much sense with the history of his character. It looks like he used his share of Aelven souls though to make Shadow Demons out of them, so they might look similar to a Chaos faction.

I find the DoK as they are more interesting than if they just would make another Chaos faction out of them.

I think it might be possible that Malerion doesn’t have actual shadow demons in his army. Like we’ve seen from the few shadow aelves teased so far they wield the shadow like cloaks and I think the shadow demons are possibly another way that these aelves can manifest the shadows around them.

    After all they are deceivers.

  7. I tried to create a hero that tries to alleviate some problems that Ironjawz face on the battlefield, namely low leadership and the lack of mortal wound saves.

Therefore I present you with "Head of Mordok da Undyin'"

Some people might ask; why a head? Because it's easy to convert? Because it fits on the smallest base and can be hidden from LoS behind any other model? Nah it's because of the lore and story!

He talks about playing the current kit in three versions.

So I think of the Aleguzzler Gargant, Chaos Gargant, ... An idea for the third version?

I think they'll add new versions for the Sons of Behemat army.

Probably the Aleguzzler and two other ones. Where a chaos gargant is any gargant that's aligned with the ruinous forces, and not a specific unit within the Sons of Behemat army.

  9. Ironjawz:

    Foot of Gorkamorka:

A balewind vortex like spell that allows the weirdnob shaman to move quickly across the battlefield and deal mortal wounds to enemies it goes near.

    Ironstorm:

The wizard animates a magical storm that rips metal shards from the earth and other places that fly around the battlefield, Ironjawz units wholly within get a bonus to their survivablity (+1 save or something like that), and Ironjawz units fighting enemy units wholly within get an additional rend on their melee weapons.

    The Beating Beatstikk:

the wizard conjured a magical beatstikk that dances and beats across the battlefield, Every hero phase roll a d3. depending on the result the beatstikk can casts one of the three warchanter beats on a unit that's eligible and within range.

So can you not take Gordrakk in an Ironjawz Warclan since he can't recieve a command trait or ability?

You can take Gordrakk in the warclans, and he will also recieve the warclan keyword.

    rules state:

"If your army is an Ironjawz army... All Ironjawz units in your army gain that keyword"

Gordrakk got the Ironjawz keyword so he is eligible.

First off he doesn't have to be the general. Secondly if he is the general you just don't get the benefits of the trait.

In Ironsunz your general only gets the trait if he's an Ironsunz Megaboss. if you have any other hero as your general you can just pick your trait from the list.
For the other two clans it works just like with other sub-faction traits; your general is forced the trait unless it's a named character in which case you don't get it at all.

  11. Hello there verminkings and queens

I recently decided to start a new army (currently have a complete ironjawz force, and some smaller ~1500pt tzeentch, khorne, troggoth and stormcast forces). And because I've always liked the thanquol and stormfiend models I decided to go for the skaven even though I had an aversion against horde style armies.

I bought a second hand Island of Blood very cheaply and bought some kits from my local gaming store half a week ago and ordered some stuff from GW because as a third party re-seller he doesn't sell the entire range. And as soon as I had put together my now 60 clan-rats it was as if I never had an aversion to hordes in the first place.

What I like most about the skaven is their skryre engineering side, and my least favorite part are the plaguey guys, so I'll not be getting them despite knowing they're very powerful.

I started converting some guys from the island of blood box immediately; I turned the packmaster into a warlock bombardier and the windglobe weapon team into a gatling team using some 40k bits (orks and grey-knights (heresy)). I also got the spiteclaw's swarm to use the hero as a clawlord.

However I also want some warplock jezzails, I currently converted two models from the swarm and I'll probably turn both of them into a single "jezzail team", for the others I'm not certain yet, I was thinking of using some bloodbowl skaven for it since the bracing ones seem excellent for holding shields.

  12. I think it’s pretty clear, most spells and abilities who deal with unmodifed bravery talk about a bravery characteristic, abilities that involve rerolls deal with modifiers by talking about failed rolls or any rolls.

In the battleshock rules posted by @XReN we can see there are three different aspect; 1: the battleshock roll, 2: the unmodified battleshock characteristic and 3: the battleshock test.

The first part of the rule for unbridled malice deals with an unmodified bravery characteristic, yet the second part talks about successful battleshock tests, it doesn’t talk about a battleshock roll. The rules for battleshock state a battleshock test deals with a modified bravery characteristic.

Therfore to me at least there is no and can be no confusion about the way this ability works.

    Quote

Unbridled Malice: Spite-Revenants  fight with a vengeful fury,  filling the air with blood-chilling curses in unknowable tongues.
Subtract 1 from the Bravery characteristic of enemy units while they are within 3" of any friendly units with this ability. In addition, re-roll successful battleshock tests for enemy units while they are within 3" of any friendly units with this ability.

What's the current consensus on Ironjawz (post GHB2019) and Meeting Engagements? 1000 pts still too small for us? Any list ideas/suggestions?

You could cheese it, bring a shaman and a bunch of boys, a warchanter to buff them and act as a cheap general and maybe even a battalion in order to guarantee first turn(and if you take ardfist it allows you to break the 2 unit limit per warscroll). Then use hand of gork on your boys and block your enemies reinforcements from arriving. Do this again if you get the second turn and you’ve guaranteed yourself a victory. Your opponent might not be to happy about it though.

    Something like this:

    Spearhead:

wierdnob shaman - hand of gork

    10x ardboyz

    mainbody:

warchanter - general - prophet of the waaagh!

    20x ardboyz

    rearguard:

    warchanter

    10x ardboyz

    Battalion - ardfist

    total points 1000/1000

    2 artifacts 2 cp 98 wounds

It’s not risk free obviously as you shaman might die after having teleported his boys across the field, but in that case your almost guaranteed of preventing at least 1/3 of your opponents army from ever making the battlefield. The beauty of it is that there are two layers to it, once the battalion warchanter is on the field you can bring back your slain units of boys as long as he’s alive. I’d advise the battalion warchanter not to be the general to spread your assets as you might trick your opponent into going after the prophet once both chanters are on the field.

  14. I played a game against a friend the other day and it went alright. I played troggoths and he played beastmen.

I absolutely smashed him as I got very lucky several times. Got first turn and hand of gorked 3 rockguts forward who ended up making their charge and killing his caster (and only chance at summoning) turn 1. Later when 20 of his bestigors charged my fellwater troggoths they managed to do exactly 2 wounds which they healed back up after having dispatched the entire unit two turns, and after that his minotaur and doombull failed their charge and got absolutely dumstered by my 6 rockguts and dankhold troggboss (Minotaur being rather weak compared to rockguts seeing as they're more expensive too). In the end I only lost the three rockgut troggoths I teleported forward, and my friend lost his entire army.

Anyways, there are some rather large flaws in the design of meeting engagements if you're facing a semi-competitive player or those people that can't not play tactically. often the area where part of your armies march in are rather small and if you get first turn it's  very easy for many factions to just move or teleport a unit to block the enemies second wave  severely crippling their army. if you then manage to get first turn again you could do the same again and you'll end up only having to defeat your opponents turn-0 force and that shouldn't pose a challenge for any self-respecting general.

But it can be obviously be fun especially if you like fielding unconventional forces (as I do) and have nice opponents who are of a similar mindset. I'll probably play more ME games as I regularly play 750-1250 point games already.

  15. Would be cool if it Settrus was made using just half of Settra's soul. The other half and with it all his memories locked away by Sigmar. Until one day the vault gets shattered and Settra's will escapes to find its other half.

Then one day Settrus and his stormcast are patrolling some dark corner in the realm of death surrounded and haunted by a dark spirit when suddenly it seems Settrus is beset by madness, as his stormbrothers seek to find out what's wrong he lashes out in a fit of rage and tears one of his soldiers in half shocking his entire regiment. Settra's halves are reunited and as his forgotten memories settle Settrus is engaged,  filled with a hatred he hasn't experienced since his betrayal at the hand of Nagash he murders his entire regiment.

But the soldiers he slays don't really die, instead Settra accidentally  binds their souls to his own cursing them to an eternity of suffering. He blames Sigmar for reforging him without his consent, and forcing souls to his will and vows that no soul should be bound and used by anyone. From that day until the end of all things he and his cursed legion march the mortal realms seeking to exterminate anything related to Sigmar, Nagash or Chaos.

Obviously Settras incredible will and power as well as the unstable nature of the cursed souls would change the appearances of the cursed legion. so instead of looking like normal stormcast they look like Egyptian stormcast who's souls are bursting from their armor as well as empowering their weapons.

Edit: I don't think this is the tithe, as it clearly says it serves a master and as everyone knows Settra has no master.

  16. I’m disappointed to say the least, I don’t like the bonesplitter appearance or style. My fear is that this means no new Ironjawz models for a while,  shared terrain and endless spells and also no new “normal” orruks.  We’ll see what it’ll end up being but I’m not getting my hopes up.
