  1. also in the errata from 2018 it says that Stone Skeleton has changed into halving damage characteristics, but in the warscroll it says on a 5+ you negate wounds and mortal wounds.. Which one should I go for, since the warscroll should be newer with the new battletome that came out? or am I wrong?
  2. Hi So I just traded a Beastclaw Raiders army and this is what I got: Frostlord on Stonehorn 4*Thundertusk Beastriders 8*Mournfangs 6*Frost Wolves 20*Night goblins (played as gnoblars) 1*proxy for Stonehorn 1*conversion for Butcher with Cauldron The idea with the trade was for me to get an army to put on the table. Too many models and haven't been able to get a single army on the table and thus haven't played a game. I usually do alot of research about the army I start collecting, but this time I haven't really had the time and am going to try playing my first game this weekend. Does anyone have any ideas on how to build a working army with these models? Traits, artifacts, possible battalions and a little info on tactics would also be very helpful! Thanks in advance!
  3. Does anyone have any information on when Bladegheists and the Black Coach will release? They are basically the only units that I have left to gather for my two army projects now that Reikenor and Harrows have released.
  4. For me it depends on what objective the reapers will have. Are they blobs to soak up enemy units or are they objective grabbers or a mix? I always think 20 is a good number, especially since they can fly and have 8" move. With Pendant they have 11" move. With Chronomatic they have 13" (?) move. All this means that 20 reapers will be able to circle an enemy unit and get lots of attacks in. Bladegheists are much more expensive, so running them in 20s might be a bit too expensive. However, this is kind of dependant on how you want to play. I guess there are pros and cons with 10s and 20s. Two 10s can threaten the board on more places with the free drop. 1 20 unit with a GoS or two will be really difficult to kill. However with a unit of 20 the enemy can focus all their fire on that particular unit. With two units of 10 you can force the player to spread out, leaving room for something else (like the reapers) to approach the enemy lines. One should note though that I haven't played a single game and there are people that are much more knowledgable and better at the strategy aspect than me
  5. According to someone in the Rules section you can absolutely use the same battalion twice in an army list. So you could run 2 Deathrider battalions if you wanted to.
  6. Is it allowed on this site to link bit sites? or is that against forum rules?
  7. Did you rip that off from Lord of the Rings? Btw, my soul is so tainted that Nagash would spit me back out again! I would do more harm to the living world as a living person than as a dead person!
  8. Yeah, I think Ekrund is talking about using 2 units of 20, not 1 unit of 40
  9. There is a pack called Tormented Spirits. 5 black knights/hexwraiths, 3 spirits hosts and 1 cairn wraith. Cheaper to buy that pack than to buy hexwraiths and spirit hosts individually. And I kinda want Spirit Hosts as an option, although the pack is mostly used for the Hexwraiths.. and perhaps a little bit for the Cairn Wraiths that I can convert into Chainghasts or reapers (and convert two reapers into chainghasts). The Spirit hosts just look bad ass, so they will look cool as a model amongst the army. edit: Is there a way to delete your posts? Accidentally made a double post..
  10. well.. if I ever need a pep talk, I now know you are not the guy to turn to
  11. I did wait.. about 10 minutes no, but I have read that they are a pain in the ass! Almost impossible to find the contact points! Have any tips?
  12. Any list with Myrmourn Banshees I can sign off on Those units are bad ass (look-wise) And I just made an order for 180 euro... 10 hexwraiths, 6 spirit hosts, 10 reapers, Lady Olynder, Jailer and Chainghasts and Battletome. My poor wallet =( edit: I could probably have done without the Battletome, but I kinda like having it. It's the only battletome I have ever bought, so I kinda consider it my pledge to play Nighthaunt full hearted!
  13. Whaaat, I thought they would do it the same way they did Idoneth Deepkin; new pre-orders every week! Anything other than that would highly disappoint me!
  14. It was created about an hour ago! No posts yet.. but I guess if someone just starts to post an army that would probaby get the ball rolling some.
  15. The only rush is that I want to be able to play a full army list at some point However, I know from experience that too many models will just lead to having to paint everything! And that will eventually lead to my getting burnt out Luckily Nighthaunt can be done in a pretty easy scheme, so painting hordes should be pretty quick!
  16. Feel free to post it in the Nighthaunt Army List thread. Makes it easier for people to find lists posted, instead of sifting through pages and pages over in this ever growing discussion thread
  17. I guess I will just have to spread out the purchases Make it a long term plan.. cause what I want to do is having the option to run a fast list with hexwraiths and black coach (and that battalion) and also having the option to run a more horde-y army (perhaps not exactly the one you posted, but something along those lines at least). I also want the option to run a LoN Nighthaunt list.. so I have the feeling that this nighthaunt army will cost me a lot! Not to mention how pricey the SE part is! Just the fulminators are a small fortune!
  18. I understand! My second army is SE.. and I love the spell slinging part of SE, so I was actually kinda happy to get those models as well! Reapers are 30 euro for 10. So that would be 120 euro for 40, which is cheaper than many other battle lines, but still very pricey. Also, do we know if GW plan on selling GoS separately? or will it be starter box only?
  19. yes, it does! That alone makes Stalkers viable. Being able to charge at every turn will most likely be very powerful for Nighthaunt. However, Stalkers models look like ******... dead skaven with a spear.. if I was blind I might feel like playing them Perhaps I should just make them faceless. Cut off their face. That would make them more fun to play!
  20. no no! You are the man-ghost-thing, Ekrund Fair points! I am learning so much from this forum! I can't believe I haven't started hanging here earlier I am so stuck in just seeing raw numbers, not thinking about wounds and attacks / point spent. So this is awesome having all these discussions with you guys! I love reapers in every way possible! One Major problem with them, though, is that I would have to buy 4 boxes of 10 to get to 40, and I think that is roughly where they will shine the most. And if you can get them to 13" move they would be able to surround most enemies and get a lot of attacks in. And yes, the Harrow, for 100 points, being able to just jump across the battlefield at will. That will really threaten the board and objectives and force your opponent to either act against the Harrow or act against some other point of the map! Either is really good!
  21. I like the list! Dont know by hand what ruler of the spirit hosts and soul cage and shademist does. Nor do I really know what Chronomatic Cogs does, but you present your strategy in a way that I understand roughly what it's all there for. I like that the army has alot of wounds. I also love that you are going with 2 GoS, even though you might switch one of them out. I just love that model so much, and with all those units you have the relic lantern and a second GoS sounds pretty powerful. At least those 60 battle line models will hopefully take some time to chew through. My problem is Reikenor. I think he might fill a role in this army list, it's just that I just can't seem to like him for some reason! I am just not getting a good feeling from that character. I dont know why, but for some reason I would rather go Lady Olynder than Reikenor. I wonder how Lady Olynder would fare in an army list like this? Her command ability is not very strong against 1 wound models. So it's basically just mortal wounds you want her for.. and the buff/debuff which could prolong the life of your Bladegheists. edit: Seems the list would end up at 2010 points with Lady Olynder, so that might be a reason to go with Reikenor
  22. Something tells me you can only use a battalion once! Never seen any list use a battalion twice, but that might just be because there hasn't been a battalion worth taking twice. Hmm, I kinda like charging up with hexwraiths and mKoS and drop Lady Olynder in the middle of it to dish out mortal wounds and give +1 to hit on the the really tough targets. Are hexwraiths +6 or unmodified 6? Seems warscrolls aren't updated on the website, so some say unmodified and some say +6 for frightful touch (one would assume they will all change to unmodified). I really need a list of points or an updated army builder to really get a good overview on what is possible Are objectives counted at the start of a turn? or at the start of a players turn? Meaning if I teleport with a harrow in my turn (I am going second this turn). Will I get points for that objective if I happen to go second the turn after? Thus giving my opponent the chance to remove the harrow from the objective? So many questions for a rookie like me edit: Posted in rules questions about the battalion thing. Let's hope for an answer!
  23. Too me it feels as if 5 hexwraiths are a bit too squishy to do much, especially if they get tied down in a fight. But then again I haven't played with them so you have a lot more experience than me in this matter! However with 5 man units you can have two units running together and achieve the same objective as with having 10 of them, cause your point about having more charges is the key I think. With a fast list and with Nighthaunt in general it seems the charge is quite important and can quickly turn the tables on a match. However, unmodified 10 is not exactly easy to get. Not even unmodified 9 is that easy, so I'm not having a hard time thinking it's a good idea to build a list around it. That leaves the speed, which is key number 2. And with the black coach and a few units of hexwraiths and mKoS you should be able to redeploy pretty quickly around the map where you are needed the most. I'm just a bit worried that the hexwraiths will die too quickly. What complementing heroes would be good for such a list? mKoS or Reikenor is according to me pretty obvious.. GoS seems to have a role to play in order to heal your units, but he will have a hard time keeping up with the quick army. Same with Spirit torment, however it gets more much flexible with chainghasts. Chainghasts can also cause some damage from ranged, so I still kinda like them together with a spirit torment.
  24. How many hexwraiths would you bring for a cav list? Somehow i am toying with the idea of two units of 10 and then a blob of chainrasps. I like bladegheists so would Love to use those aswell, but not sure there would be enough points, since I also like chainghasts. Havent done much theorycrafting so dont really know Good Spirit torments and chainghasts are in a cav list. I also like the ideal of having cav and dropping the slower units with allegiance ability (if that is confirmed?) Just to surprise My enemy and forcing him to Keep on His toes!
  25. I am having a hard time finding a place for a cairn wraith.. not really sure what it would give my army that other Heroes dont do better. It may be My noobishness causing me not to ser it, but I honestly cant. So instead of turning reapers into cairn wraiths, i ammthinking of turning cairn wraiths into chainghasts or just using the wraiths as normal reapers to fill the lines out egen needed. As for modding, you could paint them.slightly different. A slightly different weapon ord head of course also works. Bit that model is so similar to the reapers that from a top down perspective you probably wont see much difference.
