100% agree. KOs have a strong link with Skavens (SPOILER: Barak-Zoff)

You mean Zhoff ? Where it was pointed as a skaven doing ?

(also, KO has quite a few fallen Karaks still to reclaim, for example Karak-a-Zaruk or lost City-Forge of Grugni)

Calm down. Maybe I need to edit first post to make it clar that it's a JOKE because it seems that can offend some one.

    Meh.

On the topic though, making an ongoing battlesite of few factions struggling against each other (and having a good reason to do so) could be good and interesting.

And fact that in this case dwarfs, skaven and goblins are great actors to fight against each other.

Also skaven might be a good candidate for AoS 3.0 "necron style rebranding" (and main antagonist).

Clearly what needs to happen is a duel box of Dwarves and Aelves in a massive re-creation of the War of the Beard.

Only this time its the Dwarves who find an ancient Grudge book (likely preserved by some ancient Slaan) and within which find that the reason the Old World fell was because some haughty aelf got a dwarf king to shave; which resulted in a massive war during which the power of the Dwarves was forever shattered. Allowing gobbos and orks to run aoke; for humans to spread over the lands and for Chaos to eventually set root in the hearts of men and destroy the world.

Clearly its all the Elves fault! The Grudge must be honoured, the Dwarves must rebuild; reunite and storm forth to reclaim their holds and drive back both Chaos AND the Aelf legions that are steadily spreading over the Realms in vast numbers!! THE WAR OF THE BEARD MK2 must begin!! A new starter set featuring fancy aleves in shiny armour and gruff rough buff dwarves ready to deal out a  brutal death in the name of an ancient Grudge!

After which dwarfs finally realise which deep state was behind all those tectonic shifts which ransacked their empire....

Time for a three armies box set!! With three new named characters like Blood Bowl new box:

Belegur (Duardins) vs Quik (Skavens) vs Skirsnak (Gobbos).

    Rip wallet

Talk what you want about AoS writing but nothing in current AoS comes even close to the 8-Peaks lore and situation (a.k.a. clusterfuck murderfest). The whole significance of 8 Peaks it's heraldry, the lore and narrative potential of those 3 races interwiened...

(question how TOW capitalized on  that is a different one)

Anyone saw what is Peachy "painting" in that video? I never saw that model before.

Another stormcast with some big hammer ? The hammer looks like this funny new one from sacrosant.

    (it's really stormcast)

I disagree. The only reasone these are different is because they are. Build an army from these and nothing will have changed. More dynamic sculpt yes, but that goes for all underworld warbands if i'm honest.

Since the thread about the fyreslayer range i've honestly been looking  at army pictures with that reference in mind. And honestly there are a lot armies that 'suffer' from the same. And i'm starting to blame paint schemes and the size more and more. Still a very limited range, don't get me wrong. But it's become less of an issue for me.

For example, today I saw an army shot of a KO army. New player did a slow grow league. And it looked awesome, cohesive and really well painted. But the shot was from a tabletop distance, and I could make out three distinctive things, foot troops, balloon troops, boats. I could not tell without zooming in, which boat was which. What heroes where in the list. Nor how many were thunderers and which were arkanauts.
Same with an all Sacrosanct army. Only on the second I saw it, I realised there were 2 incantors hidden in there 😅

Again fyreslayers are definitely limited in variation, but more variation in the paint scheme would go a long way as well.

Thats a big problem with AoS and reasons why probably some of the armies fall short in popularity.

    An example:
As for dwarf Slayers. Them being quite awesome and interesting is showed off on their "bleak and standard" background of "standard" dwarfs (heavily armored, slow and purposeful defensive guys).

It's like with cooking. Everyone loves the cake's crumble, but if you are being served only crumble, after few bites it's really not that good as an actual cake with crumble. Different things make of good meal/cake and quite often those things are very different from each other (fat, salt, acid, temperature etc.). You cannot give someone a kilogram of lard and hope he enjoys is only becouse he previously said he likes to eat doughnuts* .....

*true doughnuts are boiled in lard.

There are photos of this sprue floating around the internet, so it certainly existed at some point. There were rumours of the steel mould breaking, and deemed not to be financially viable to remake.

    Edit:

    Found it!

The Unreleased Lord Sprue - The Forge - Bugmans Brewery - The Home for all Warhammer Dwarf Fans

Heh.... If only did they put any effort into managing their game back then......

  8. There is nothing in the wording of Fly High which prevents you from doing so if engaged with flying unit.

You cannot disengage when engaged with flying unit.

So you can fly high from enemy Archeon, and setup 9" away, and shoot him (you fly high, not disengage).

You cannot disengage from Archeon, move 3" away from him and shoot him (disengage doesn't work as Archeon flies).

It makes sense for GW to push Marines especially at the launch and keep them popular in both the meta, chatter and sales.  They make the company.  It is because of Marine favourtism we have AoS, Tau, etc.  Just do what you want and paint your models and play games.  It will come around again

Worked well for Brets and Tomb Kings 😜

Looking back, the snake/lizard head rumour engine might also be holding a key in it’s mouth...

Yea, looking at it now it would really seems as a kind of metal, but on the other hand if that would be a ring from key, it's missing from the other side of the mouth/head...

I believe this is to prevent landing a huge boat on top of an objective directly, preventing other models from getting within contesting proximity because of the boat's hugeness. You could still land 1" away from an objective and take it because you'd be within scoring distance.

It seems like it's the same sort of rule that prevents the Idoneth boat terrain, Sylvaneth forest pieces and other faction terrain from being plopped on top of objectives - they prevent other units from even moving close to tag objectives otherwise.

Oh, then I misunderstood it. Thanks for clarification.
