  1. Agreed. Played Necrons for years before 5th and their influx of awesome, or the Decurion and their reign of terror. I painted my existing NH as ethereal, having loved the studio Mortis Engine's take on ghosts.
  2. Grimghasts are fast, blendy, -1 rend AND 1 better save than chainrasps too. Wondering if bladegheists will be si gle wound models.. kinda would be nice for the MoG's return 1 model ability to target multiwound models like hosts
  3. The way Im seeing us play is a dense anvil/tarpit in the center, with faster units simply flying through to assasinate characters or double up by charging their center from behind to grab a quick advantage, then healing/ressurecting in order to maintain that advantage. We should be leveraging army wide fly and invuln saves, enabling us to reposition at will and go toe to toe with extremely deadly enemies with predictable losses. Our main weakness is low wound count heroes who can get picked off/focused down before being able to heal, knock them out and our units' damage output will wither
  4. Yeah, you want to cut the heart out of the enemy early with NH, then replenish your losses as you mop up/deal with their counterattack
  5. Yeah, putting hosts together caught me off guard too, and I survived assembling about 4k points of Necrons
  6. That might just be because its fast and can keep up
  7. Starting to think the Black Coach is going to have some sort of aoe component as well, my bet is a speed boost or something else indispensible to warrant its inclusion in all the goodness here
  8. I would most likely build a customized Kurdoss out of the Hobbit ringwraith model with the mace and some mortis engine banshees if I build him as I really dislike his model - but his stats are quite nice. Rereading the entries; all 3 are quite nice actually, iir the mounted wraith is cheaper than the other two
  9. Mortarch is incredible. Craven King is awesome, new guy is a bit meh... model is amazing though
  10. I'm wondering if CWraiths are worth taking anymore given the other low-end heroes' buffs and synergies. (Yes the new grimghast models put the cairn wraith to shame, which completes the cycle as the CWraith model was amazing when it first came out) Absolutely getting that chainghast set. Will compliment the SoulWars STorment perfectl
  11. So Im predicting the Craven King will be a support aura character given his non-combat oriented pose, the Mortarch will be an offensive caster with a command aura, and the third will be our melee beast. Chainghasts most likely low ap high attack dervishes, Bladegeists high ap low attack elites, and I have no clue whatsoever about the Black Coach!
  12. I like that sculpt of the torment better than the boxed version... same as the executioner. Damn.
  13. Thanks for bringing this up! I was kicking myself for having bought a KoS if I couldnt field it; good news
  14. Agreed; surprised we havnt seen any bravery debuff so far. Im getting the feel of how we work.. setting your battleline/tarpit face-first into the enemy and having your second rank drifting straight through the melee to either engage soft targets/priorities or doubling up and charging the rear, while your support heroes keep close to hand out buffs and regenerate your troops. I am hoping we retain the artefact that boosted our movement range in order to maximize on our entire army having 'fly'. You can also bubblewrap your damage dealers like the executioner or perhaps the Mourngul and simply phase thru any interlopers that charge you in order to persue proper targets
  15. Since the Myrmourn are so suprisingly cheap I picked up a box just to use as embellishments on Nagash / Mortarch of Greif / Craven King conversion
  16. Both Chaingeists and Bladegheists look to be our more intimidating elites. Oh, and is anyone else a bit underwhelmed by our 2 named hero models? Depending on rules I might have convert/kitbash either of them. Thinking some sort of LoTR/Hobbit ringwraith, either the WitchKing or the dude with horns as our Craven King..
  17. Agreed. It's a shame they put out the box first and BTome later, though that's just how you have to do it in a cash-grab business model. I think most of us are picking up the SoulWars Nighthaunt units mostly because we've been jonesing for new models all this time, but I honestly think we are going to find the actual good units will be the ones coming with the book. One can say the Spirit Torment and Guardian are worth picking up now... but I actually much prefer the leaked image of the other Torment model where he is swinging bricks like mad
  18. True, if we end up as horde with fly and ethereal we will still have some interesting possibilities
  19. First! Mwaha -- anyway, with suspicion of the Soul Wars box containing temporary warscrolls we are all back to square 1 as far as our unit stats go..
