  1. They are all based in Chamon, that is true, but there are plenty of smaller outposts in all the other Realms. Anywhere where it would be advantageous of a major clan to set up an outpost - they are all about the trading, of course
  2. Those are usually for use only when doing the battle box campaigns. Typically cannot use it for Matched Play.
  3. I personally glue it all together, but use painter's masking tape to cover up the clear flight stem. Once the mini is all finished, I remove the tape, leaving the flight stem all nice and clear
  4. If that's the case about the other Chaos armies, then I stand corrected. Make no mistake though - players interested I. Slaanesh expected a big release. Coupled with some sort of Realm-shattering event, complete with Aelf army releases, etc etc. Been listening to this chatter for weeks.
  5. I mean, I'm sure Flesh Eater Courts players expected a bigger release. I'm sure Fyreslayers players expected a bigger release. GW is in a big rush to get as many 2e books out as possible. It's unlikely that every single army will get this huge release. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but Tzeentch and Nurgle didn't get these huge multi-kit releases all at the same time. Khorne did, sure, because early on during first edition, they were billed as the main enemies of Stormcasts, and so their kit releases were comparable. For a while. Kinda. Armies like Nurgle have a large pool of models, but they got that staggered out over a little g period if time. So again, while I would not have been surprised if Slaanesh got a huge release, I am equally bot surprised that their release is fairly tame. I think you are confusing what you actually want (a huge release) with what is actually reasonable (a bare bones release)
  6. To answer your question - yes it's unrealistic. Given the way GW operates, the amount of armies that will get a Gloomspite-level release are few and far between. So while you might think that your own beloved army needs the super, extra-effort release treatment, the reality is that tons of other armies (even brand-new armies that we haven't ever seen before) need it just has much. From GW army releases, you expect the minimum. Anything extra is just that - extra.
  7. Everybody had this big expectation of what the Slaanesh release was going to be, mainly because they were missing from both shelves and the storyline for so long. These are folks who haven't learned to manage their expectations, when it comes to GW. Go easy on them. It's a harsh lesson to learn. Perhaps Slaanesh and 40k Ork players can form some sort of support group or something.
  8. So I get that this is pretty far afield of KO discussion, but the pedant in me can't let this go. Apologies. I am building the Sequitors set right at this moment. I am looking at the sprues, and I am looking at the instruction booklet. There are four Greatmaces in a kit. Not five. Four.
  9. Disagree with this assessment There is a difference between a unit being undercosted, and being the only unit in the entire book that actually performs the function that it was intended to perform (with the sole exception of maybe Endrinriggers). Arkanauts fall into the latter category. The reason why they get taken as allies, etc, is because they ARE correctly costed, and adequately perform their job on various soup lists
  10. Which probably means it's just a placeholder until the book gets released someday
  11. If we have the traditional three endless spells, to work with, and if (in a hypothetical universe) I were a GW game designer, I would have one of three broad categories One effect that was a destructive weather phenomena (storm, cyclone, etc) One effect that was some sort of aerial predator of some kind (like the megalofins described in the fluff One final effect that was technology-based in some way. Like the aerial mine field that Ecosta just described, or perhaps some sort of buffing mechanic. Perhaps an aether-refueling station that would make our ships faster? Something along those lines.
  12. You can take up to five Great Maces (or whatever they are called) in a unit of 10 Sequitors, and yet the boxed kit only comes with four. And this is in Stormcasts - the poster boys of the game, with very up-to-date rules. There ARE modern kits (modern as in having recent rules) with War Scrolls that don't match the boxed kits. It happens. And as Davion just said - GW knows that players are going to purchase multiples of the Arkanauts kit. Players are going to have options available to them. The odds are far more in favor of keeping the special weapon rules as they are. In the case of Thunderers and Storm Fiends, their weapon options were massive - with what ..5-6 weapon options per kit? Of course GW had to step in. Maxing out one particular weapon was both expensive to the wallet, and abusive for the game. The situation is far different for Arks. There is very little incentive for GW to alter the scroll in that way. Which is a good thing.
  13. Yes exactly. Quite frankly, if GW was going to restrict weapon options on Arkanauts, they would simply have done so when they altered the Thunderer war scroll.
  14. Yeah...actually no they haven't. He is specifically talking about banner bearers and musicians at that point, in a effort to stop people running units of nothing but guys with banners strapped to their backs. It's a dangerous game to quote people when you are getting the quotes wrong. But hey - and I say this with no malice or snark - if you have other sources, let me know.
  15. If that were the case then the animation world be better. It's something with miniatures. It contains Squigs and Sylvaneth. That's what we know for certain.
  16. That's a pretty cool idea, but I like mine better. The fluff mentions floating armored light houses to protect trade routes. I think we get one of these things that can light up an enemy with it's spot light, giving us a shooting bonus of some kind. Sort of an AoS version of a Tau marker light. This way we could fix our accuracy issue without changing many to-hit rolls. Been thinking of this a lot, lol
  17. Actually they have never said this. People just assume they have, because of kits like Storm Fiends. Personally I think it is unlikely that Arks will change like this. We've been using them for a couple of years, and it's not like they are prone to abuse like Storm Fiends were
  18. I mean I don't really think we need any more models - as cool as they might be. Of course, I have tons of ideas that I'd love to see as options, but our roster seems fine, currently. Clearly we need more Battle Line options, but that can be solved by taking current units and making them either full or conditional Battle Line. Something to the effect of "if you take an Admiral in your army, then Sky Wardens may be taken as Battle Line units" or something similar. So while I would like to see additional models, we could pretty easily make do with the models we already have. Just give us a Tome, terrain and Endless Spells and we would probably be fine. What we really need is something like the Fyreslayers - where literally every single War Scroll got a change of some degree. Let our models function like they are supposed to do in the fluff. That's what we need.
  19. Firstly, I would agree with your point about Ironjawz and Bonesplittaz, if FEC and Fyreslayers didn't exist. Both of those Orruk armies have the same or (in IJ's case) more kits than either of the armies that just got new books. Both IJ and Bonesplittaz have 1st edition books. It's quite clear that GW are comfortable with these armies keeping their own identity as a singular army. There is precisely zero evidence that they will ever be combined in any way, Additionally, if there are so many KO players that you are apparently getting annoyed at the outcry, then you have your answer right there. KO NEED a new book because they are a cool and popular army, and a lot of players (customers) want a revamp. GW sell models man. Do you honestly think that they care about Allegience Abilities when determining their production schedule?
  20. Finally getting back to the Iron Grot. Despite good intentions, I needed to take a short break from the thing - it's a big project! I finished off painting my 2000 pts of Ironjawz as a sort of palate cleanser, but back to construction again. The big thing is I have everything except the arms all riveted, which was a lesson in tedium Anyhow, I apologize up front for the crappy photos - I just need some opinions here. Do you think he looks better with his arms swinging like he is walking/moving? or... Do you think he looks better as if he is reaching for something
  21. This was my thought. IMO it's the most likely culprit for stuff like this
  22. It really gives little to no credence, in fact
  23. With these new Fyreslayer buffs, I may have to think more seriously about picking up some to be melee allies.
  24. Lord I hope this never happens. I have no desire whatsoever for this army to become a summoning army. Having to lug along more models than I absolutely HAVE to, is a colossal pain in the ass - espet considering the model transportation issues we already have. I could maybe stomach having our units "resurrected" in some way, but that doesn't seem to fit, fluff-wise. No, I would rather GW increase our "healing" abilities to the point where they are more useful. Have our mechanics take our heavily damaged ships, and keep them working. That is a far more fluffy solution, IMO.
