  1. I suspect the hobgrots are for chorfs primarily and orruk warclans second.
  2. The big question for me is whether they are happy with the current aos army roster in which case they will expand existing factions, or if they want to just keep making new armies.
  3. It isn't that I wouldn't like it. More that if Idoneth are going to get any love from GW (which i fear is unlikely) I'd rather see more sea creatures like a giant crab or octopus. I'd be happy to see more dragons in the other aelf factions. Especially Malerion.
  4. I like it. It gives me special warm feelings.
  5. Disregarding the salted cabbage of the last few pages is anyone else a bit disappointed that stormcast get these dragons? I'm hesitate to mention this, lest we give GW any ideas about giving lumineth more models, but traditionally warhammer dragons have been elf units. I wouldn't have expected idoneth to get a dragon given their sea theme and their "challenging " relationship with animals. DoK, Lumineth and Malerion all seem like candidates though. Or I would have thought they'd be a great standalone SoB style faction.
  6. If daddy loves blue best, then red can always come hang out under the sea. Some of us know what it feels like to have a bad father 😥
  7. This is appalling. I work for a large international insurer and even our basic contact centre workers are on higher money than that. Plus private Healthcare on top. You can talk about it being creative etc, but with the profits GW post to their shareholders their staff deserve decent salaries.
  8. Maybe they like to do the riding... #baddragon
  9. I have to say I think these guys are my favourite models since the Idoneth. I particularly like big red.
  10. I honestly don't understand what kind of madness drives people into thinking that they should play white knight to corporations run for the benefit of shareholders who couldn't care less about them. I love warhammer, but imagine how much better the hobby would be if it was run by enthusiastic creators only for the benefit of fans rather than to extract the biggest profit from them.
  11. This isn't really the same. My principle is that laws should protect the weak against the powerful, not keep the powerful powerful. IP rights protecting a debut hit author to ensure a movie studio can't just snap their book, chop it and change it then make a million dollars is great. You're protecting the rights of a single individual who has dedicated their life to a creative work. IP rights being used by a massive corp to smash fans who just want to create something fun for other fans is not the same at all. Even if said fan has patreon I doubt they are earning enough from it to really compensate the massive amount of work they out into these passion projects.
  12. Also how does this even help GW? Do you think someone who watched the Astartes fan films is more or less likely to buy a space marine?
  13. IP rules like these don't serve anyone except corporations. Honestly, I'm not saying GW are disgusting or that I hate them. I love the products and as individuals there are great people working there. But I'm not cheering for massive companies or stanning for them online. It's like when GW do price increases, make an app paywall, deliberately limit products to drive up demand. There are always people defending them! Why!? No company is our friend. I get IP isn't black and white and I'm not saying we should get rid of it entirely, but it doesn't add anything for us as hobbyists. Think about myths and legends. Imagine if the estate of Geoffrey of Monmouth had stopped Mallory writing about King Arthur. Some of the greatest periods of creativity in human history have come when different artists borrowed or stole each others ideas. If some talented student wants to use the GW IP to show off their writing, drawing or digital skills and creates fun stories for other fans in the process how is this bad for us?
  14. I suppose it's more the question of intent. Previously there was no mention of fan films, now there specifically is a section banning them. With wh+ that indicates a new level of intent on their part to prevent these.
  15. 100% agree. Why do you think this site prevents posting leaks or sharing access to pirate materials? It's because the owner has a very close relationship with Games Workshop. People might say it's not that big a deal, but the content creators who made fan films etc got a start at doing what they do because there was some freedom here. Now that's gone.
  16. Got my first 2k event of the new edition coming up soon. Can I get some thoughts on my list? Allegiance: Idoneth Deepkin - Enclave: Dhom-Hain - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumphs: Inspired LEADERS Volturnos, High King of the Deep (260) in Battle Regiment - General Isharann Soulscryer (140) in Battle Regiment - Universal Prayer Scripture: Heal UNITS 3 x Akhelian Ishlaen Guard (155) in Battle Regiment 3 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (195) in Hunters of the Heartlands 3 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (195) in Hunters of the Heartlands 1 x Akhelian Allopexes (125) in Battle Regiment - Retarius Net Launcher 3 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (195) in Battle Regiment 3 x Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (195) in Hunters of the Heartlands 1 x Akhelian Allopexes (125) in Battle Regiment - Retarius Net Launcher BEHEMOTHS Akhelian Leviadon (380) in Battle Regiment CORE BATTALIONS Battle Regiment Hunters of the Heartlands
  17. Intellectual Property Guidelines For those that haven't seen GW is now banning fansites from reposting their material, making fan films or discussing stats and rules. So websites like Goonhammer won't be able to do battletome reviews where they talk about or repost unit profiles from books. Likewise fan films on YouTube will cease to exist. This seems incredibly heavy handed to me given how beneficial these fan sites and fan films have been to supporting and growing the warhammer community.
  18. Why are you being so mean about it? A lot of people, myself included, thought it made sense to be a smaller scale game. Some people were keen on the idea and will be disappointed now. It's fine to be pleased, but no need to make this into some sort of conflict.
  19. I'm feeling 70% confident that there is a Nurgle vs Fec box in October.
  20. I know everyone is (rightfully) hyped about the bird, but I was hoping the stormcast dragon would be more than one kit. Like a centerpiece and some cavalry. A bit sad if it is just one hero.
  21. Some rumors going around about Horus Heresy being moved to a mainline GW range from FW with a focus on plastic kits that can be used in 40k as well. A general "Age of Darkness" game setting that is separate from 40k but wider in scope than current Horus Heresy. This might then free Forge World to primarily focus on The Old World?
  22. It would be nice if they came out and explained how ToW is going to work. I get that it might be a time before release yet, but I'd love to know the basics of what the rules will be and what the scale is etc.
  23. I mean... maybe, but their reddit history is just weird anime stuff up until the last couple of days where they claimed Imp Guard codex in September.
