Lord Cedric
Is there an official way on how to play buildings.Certain official gw terrain has warscrollls to use. The Dreadfort has its own book to use and many of those rules can be adapted. Also, you can roll on the mystical terrain chart in the 4 page rules. Otherwise... unless it has a special function in a scenario, it's between you and your opponent. - Cedric Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
KnightFire
As Lord Cedric says, quite a few bits of scenery have their own rules, but these warscrolls can be re-used for other bits of scenery if you wish. Otherwise the default rules for a building are that you roll on the scenery table to see what it does, and it probably blocks line of sight (using true line of sight). If its a building that a model can stand on (such as a tower with a flat roof) then model scan stand on it, but have to include the vertical distance in their move, which in practice probably means only creatures with long movement can get on top of it. If you want to play that buildings can be occupied, check out the "skull keep" warscroll for an idea of how you can do that.
Aelfric
They did bring out a PDF for scenery when they first launched AOS which should still be available. It has rules for 15 buildings such as a Chapel, Watch Tower, Arcane Ruins. These are offered as alternatives to the standard scenery rules.
