Following @DeadlySarcasm's suggestion for more info, it looks like you've answered your own question! The ambushing is potentially strong in objective play and also for picking off weaker support units. Also your army will drop quicker and you'll get another artefact. Yeh that ability to pile in from 6" away (different to a 6" pile in move - which they do also have) is pretty tasty. I do actually like Yhetees and don't mind the models as much as some people.
