Ironjaws 1,5 k brutes or ardboys?

Guys which list do you think would do better in a tournament:

The megabosses stick close to the brutes, while gore grunts flank the army and try to get to big monsters or shooting units as fast as possible.

this is a more well rounded list with more models to grab objectives and less punch. At least with this list I can cast mystic shield on brutes.

Total: 1480/2000

I cannot count how many times a unit of 5 brutes have over-performed by throwing them on flank and prevent a monster or a dirty unit from staying alive. They are underestimated compared due to the threat of the 10 man squad I think. Keep the Warchanter close to that squad and give them +1 hit rolls of they are not up against a monster.

Thanks for the reply.

In my 1k point list my gore gruntas performed really well. Their 5" greater move than brutes really helped to get to heroes behind enemy lines ;). They have 1 more bravery than brutes and more wounds, which means that they dont flee when 1 gore gunta dies and i'm a bit worried that i can loose 5 brutes pretty fast without inspiring presence.

Also they look amazing :D

Btw, can I use a unit as a general?

Using a unit as the general - no, not any more. 

Gore Gruntas do look amazing, which is the only reason anyone takes them. Brutes can move plenty fast enough. I would do something similar to Lysandestolpe above, except just 1 unit of 10 aardboys and 2 units of 5 brutes.

Brutes put the jawz in ironjawz.

The no "Unit Leader" as a general is from the SCGT comp pack, if I remember correctly. The official GW FAQ still says that you can.

That being said, because the SCGT is being used as a test bed for the GHB2, a lot of the community is starting to anticipate the loss of that particular General option.

I think I also read somewhere that some of the new Khorne Battalions or their Blood Tithe rules (can't remember which) required your general to be a Khorne Hero, which would be further indication that this might be incoming...
