First off there is no right or wrong way to build a list, particularly in AOS. However you must consider that for 1000 points you are only putting 10-13 models on the table; even a Stormcast force is likely to have 20-30 models in a 1000 point battle. Its no doubt tempting to play a power game like this when utilising the might of Khorne and I have certainly done so before in previous versions of Warhammer however it is a very inflexible list that is not too difficult for an experienced opponent to mitigate.

One problem you will often have is finding your big bads chasing after small fluff units that tie them up for long stretches of the game. Nothing more depressing than a Bloodthirster wasting 2-3 turns chasing and destroying a 100-200 point chaff unit. A clever opponent will throw fluff units at you while whittling away at you with missiles and magic before sending in their own combat specialists to finish the job. You will often find yourself outnumbered anywhere from 3-5 to 1 and unless your opponent decides to meet you head on in combat (which they would be crazy to do with this list) I think you will meet frustration more often than not. You will also find it difficult to take and hold multiple objectives in scenarios where this is required as you simply won't have the troops or the movement speed required.

Either of your above lists would be excellent "power halves" of a 2000 point list with the other 1000 points going towards blood letters, flesh hounds, blood warriors, heralds, skull cannons, etc. For a 1000 point battle you should probably look to have a more balanced force with a some blood letters/flesh hounds among your heavy hitters, unless you are specifically paying scenarios/opponents where all out combat is everyone's first option.

Maybe check out some other 1000 point armies elsewhere on this forum to gauge the number and variation of models your likely opponents are going to take. That being said, if the above lists represent your favourite models that will make you happy owning regardless of battle results then go for it!

Thank you all - that is some really good advices :)

I will try and work some fluff-units in to the lists...  I do like the Skullcrushers, but I'm not sure how to use them or buff them?

I agree, I've had my bloodthirster sniped off the table before getting to do any damage too many times to spend the points. Try working in some blocks of infantry for your heroes to buff. I've considered the brass stampede as well, but the juggers don't hit near as hard as they did in 8th and you roll 5's if anyone has a rend against you. I play against a lot of shooty armies( lizardmen, stormcast, beast claw) I just imagine the juggers getting wiped out trying to come across the table.
