Celestial Dracoline heavy list help.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, pretty new to AoS and have collected a bunch of mortal realm mags of models I like and now putting together a list.
Would this be decent, doesn't need to be top tier but still respectable?

I think the Ordinator and Ballistas aren't the top choice (longstrikes appear popular) but do like the idea of some supporting dakka while the cats go off and kill things.  Had 110 leftover so thats why Ordinator in there but not attached to him and could be another hero for cat buffs. Ideally the army needs to have a min of 6 to 9 battle, but the 12 not essential. The 2nd 6 cat unit could be 3 cats if the points could be used elsewhere better etc.

I believe it all fits into 1 Battle regiment and 1 Grand battery.

That actually looks pretty good to me!  Are these the models you have or not yet?  Very thematic with a Sacrosanct majority.

I'm also a Stormcast noob (Dracoths for me), but I might suggest  you trade out 1 Ballista for another hero of some sort, perhaps a Knight Azyros or other buffing type.  Definitely recommend going Scions of the Storm.  That will allow you to drop down as needed.  For example if you don't have a great line of sight with your ballistas due to terrain and your deployment zone, you could choose to drop those and the Ordinator as a group elsewhere and still shoot...also maybe dropping them into area terrain for a cover save.

Have most of the models from the mortal realms mags.

The Knight Azyros has a handy ability to buff a combat untis damage for sure, though dropping a ballista means the ordinator is probably pointless and maybe just longstrikes would be better. As 2 shots each at 2 damage seems far more reliable than 1 shot with D6 damage not to mention the 1/6 chance of each shot being 2 mortals.

Knight Judicators look like an option as well, 2 Damage 3 shots.

Hmmm, low on heroes, and no Galletian Champs, you'll have a tough time scoring battle tactics I think.  Are the cat-Evos battleline at all?

Can't argue with Longstrikes, they are super good.

Not super fussed about whatever GW latest temporary rules are, by the time I would build the army Galletian champs will be old news.

No the EvoCats don't become battleline.

You might want to consider splitting up one of the evo-cat units. It's pretty hard to get 6 cats into combat, and at least 2 units of 3 would give you better board control.

Not sure if that will mess with the battalions though.

Yeah could see managing 1 6 evo unit but 2 would be hard to both find combats. The 1 drop battalion has 5 unit limit plus hero so would need to either shift units around or have more drops. Could avoid it by getting a hero or artillery that fits in the core battalion instead of 3 evos. Haven't really got my head around all the heroes and their buffs etc.
