WSDdeloach
I think ultimately.. Full Pestilens is absolutely doable. Thought about mixing in nurgle stuff?? Plague bearers might be super solid to push the furnace. Way more durable
TalesOfSigmar
Unfortunately you need the Skaven keyword to push along the Furnace otherwise it's stuck at 4" movement. There's definitely chances of expanding into Nurgle for Epidemus and that but the more you add the less effective the Pestilence become on their own. WSDdeloach
Well, Pestilens is gonna be a pure fluff army for me. Planning on building it into a GT style list for LVO next year. So i'm pumped to see so many people into them! Once I get a little time, im gonna blog my progress through the build of my 2k list.
Scottyjock
Wonder if 3 Furnaces is feasible. Couple of Start Collecting boxes would sort me out for Monks and give me 3...
WSDdeloach
Three seems a bit much. That's 660 out of your 2k limit..
Scottyjock
Yeh hadn't realised at first glance that they are in the Leaders/Heroes section too, definitely a drain on that
TalesOfSigmar
To be fair they're one of the core pieces of the army. The prayers aren't spells so do not suffer the Rules of 1 and therefore can be cast more than once on different monk units. Think 3 probably would be overkill but would look pretty cool on the table! Scottyjock
Would love to run two of them. For such a limited army list there's actually plenty of options with the formations.

I particularly like the idea of this list, it's almost like an 'elite' Pestilens army. I'm currently torn between going down a mixed Pestilens/Nurgle Daemons or Pure Pestilens route - I own the virulent Horde box set so far. One of the attractive things about this list is the low model count. Don't get me wrong, I think Horde Armies can look amazing and are great for controlling objectives in matched play, and it's not even the painting that bothers me most - monks look pretty simple to paint -it's the tedious moving of a hundred+ models around the table! Anyway, couple of questions for you @WSDdeloach 1. Have you played this list and if so have you had any success?! Given the lack of a standard profile armour save for monks and censer bearers I'd imagine those 60 models get whittled down pretty quick. 2. Why did you choose a Congregation of Filth above a Foulrain Congregation given that you had the points spare? Many thanks!
WSDdeloach
@Percivael I'm not running that list anymore, that was a first attempt at a "competitive" Pestilens list. Had success among some casual AoS players... But as soon as I stepped in with more serious opponents. Hard to win with, and Pestilens by nature are a offensive>defensive army to begin with. I just found the plague censers and the Verminlord just not pulling weight. So I moved on to a more straightforward buff stack list. Here. Now it's about 40 more models, all monks. Big bonuses from congregations of filth x2 and the foulrain. Still playing with command abilities and stuff. Look, I think it's totally viable of you do the virulent procession and x2 plague claws. But for me, I really wanted to min/max my attacks and get my movement up asap. With only three drops I have a good chance of going first. wayniac
That's a shame. getting into the horde territory is one of the reasons I dislike skaven and never liked them in the old days either. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
