Memnoch
I'm hoping some of you here that have more experience with contrast paints than I do can help me with this one. I've been using Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet and Wild Rider Red when painting wings and now I want to get a similar color spread but with contrast paints. Would I be correct assuming that Flesh Tearers Red, Blood Angels Red and Gryph-Hound Orange should give me a similar look? Also, what undercoat would you recommend to get as close to the regular paint colors as possible?
zilberfrid
I have used Blood Angels red, and it does produce something similar. Do kerp in mind that contrast still wants highlight. You may get better results using a red wash and just red paints.
Kramer
Same as @zilberfrid says, and i'd use wraithbone primer. The colors are a bit warmer with that instead of Grey Seer. Seems right for a Red.
zilberfrid
Oh yes, pure white, pink (Goobertown has a video on pink priming) or off white like Wraithbone. Maybe even a light red basecoat. Gray Seer is only very, very rarely of any use for contrasts.
