Does the adversary advance after a convergence?

Pretty much what it says in the title.

Does the adversary advance in their campaign after they’ve fought in a convergence battle in somebody else’s campaign? Or are they just there as opponents for the aspiring warband and it gets them some extra glory etc. But not an advancement in their own campaign.

I’m thinking the latter as it says in the narrative section about the adversaries ‘interacting with the eight points’ and the warband is taking on a new role for that battle but can’t find a clear rule in the book.

It's still a campaign battle.  That stuff about interacting with the Eightpoints and a new role is just narrative fluff/lore aspect, hence why the opponent can refuse if the convergence scenario doesn't make sense for them to be an Adversary.

Adversary gets all the normal outcomes of a battle plus an extra roll on the lesser artefact table.

No, it does not advance, the rules say as much. They get the extra roll instead of advancing.
