wordoflorgar92
So my group of gamers really only play Age of Sigmar but I've always wanted to do historical gaming. So I decided to make some AoS warscrolls for historical units. My first attempt is Macedonians: Phalangites, available from Warlord. Let me know what you think! Nacnudllah
This sounds like an awesome project! That looks like a nice manageable warscroll, fairly balanced and in-line with Freeguild. One note is that I would recommend not using "to hit" or "to wound" of 5+ or worse with units that are supposed to accomplish things. I designed some warscrolls for 40k units and found that 5+ to hit or wound really dropped effectiveness to the point at which the unit was just sad (think of Nurglings, or of archers melee attacks). I look forward to seeing more of your historical units.
EMMachine
I actually wonder why those guys are better in case of hitting than in case of wounding. I mean normally spearlike weapons hit worse in case of range. And in case of Massed ranks you would actually hit on a 1+ with a 40 man unit. Was this planned? wordoflorgar92
Thanks for the replies! Nacnudllah: I was trying to balance the 3" range on the pikes as this would mean a great amount of attacks coming into any unit. EMMachine: I was not! I can change it now. Maybe for massed ranks I could do +1 to hit for 30+ and +1 to wound for 40+?
