Wait, so you can't use command points to just re-roll dice? oops. we've been doing that for ages - you can definitely do that in kill team, I guess we got confused! Happens to a lot of people who cross 40k/KT and AoS in my last game of 40k i tried to make my opponent remove half his unit after breaking coherency (which isn't how that works in 40k) so i should know!
