If a hero with an artifact rolls dark apotheosis does it retain the artifact?

Thanks

Hi mate. It was kind of hard to find what Dark Apotheosis is - you could shortly state the ability in question and what it does the next time. I found this on 1d4chan:

"Dark Apotheosis: You can add a Daemon Prince to your army. If you do, set up a Daemon Prince model within 1" of the HERO, and then remove the hero. The Daemon Prince does not cost reinforcement points in a Pitched Battle. It cannot attack in the phase in which it is set up. If you do not add a Daemon Prince to your army, treat this as ‘The Eye Opens’ instead."

Assuming this is the (allegiance) ability you are talking about: No, the artifact is not retained. You set up a completely new model (the Daemon Prince) and then remove the old model (the Hero rolling a 12 on Eye of the Gods). Since there is nothing in the rules telling us about the new Daemon Prince receiving any artifacts after being set up, he does not. I hope I could help you - if anything is not clear and/or you want a further explanation, feel free to ask.
