Summon units and spells

Simple one really, can a newly summoned unit select a spell from their alliance lore in the same way as one that starts the game in our army?

Similarly, I assume that summoned units don't count as part of any battalions you have in an army?

1) Yes, unless for whatever reason the spell picking says "before the battle" or similar. Most are worded "wizards from X know spell Y in addition" or similar.

2) You're correct, they don't - battalion requirements and component warscrolls are determined before set-up.
