Nixon
Does using the Sylvaneth Spirit Path to move a model, count as a retreat?
Nico
No - I suspect that it's a teleport as it doesn't say "move as is in the movement phase". Cf. the Verminlord Deceiver.

Nico
Hmmm. It still looks to me like a teleport as it says "set up" rather than move. I would say it doesn't have the negative consequences of the retreat, but it does have any other movement limitations (e.g. rolling on the table for whether you can then move). BaldoBeardo
Specifically with Spirit path, the main rules say that you can either remain stationary or retreat with enemies with 3". Spirit path is "instead of moving normally", so it supercedes the choice to remain or retreat. So no, it's not a retreat move. Nixon
Just asked the same question on the AOS GW FB. This is there answer. Quote Good question. We tend to play that it does count as a retreat, but we'll pass it on to the rules guys in case they want to address it officially in a future update. Nico
It really doesn't feel like a retreat cf. Vexillor and Verminlord Deceiver. It's a teleport or setting up elsewhere.
