What do you guys think? Can you share your 1500 point Ironjawz lists?

I'm wondering if you might be better served leaving out the Maw-Krusha and switching to a Megaboss on foot. Freeing up points to add two units of your choice (I'd grab a second unit of Ardboyz and Gruntas.)

I'd go with this as well I think.

Don't forget, keeping a megaboss within 5" of the brutes gives them re-rolls of 1s to hit. Very useful for those combats where you don't have duff up da big thing giving you rerolls.

Alternatively, you could always drop the gore gruntas and take a Megaboss

- Artefact: Talisman of Protection

Megaboss  (140)

- Trait: Bellowing Tyrant
- Artefact: Battlebrew

3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (180)
- Pig Iron Choppas

10 x Orruk Brutes (360)
- Gore-hackas
- 1x Gore Choppa
5 x Orruk Brutes (180)
- Pair of Brute Choppas
- 1x Gore Choppa

- Pair of Brute Choppas
- 1x Gore Choppa

Battalions
Ironfist (60)

total: 1500/2000

Honestly, the 10 unit of Brutes is what makes the most damage in every game I've played. They wreck havoc. If you want you can take a Weirdnob instead of a second boss to give them mystic shield, but I wouldn't count on any other spell of his to go your way. That is if 3+ save is worth 120 pts.

Well I just bought and built mawkrusha and I am willing to use it, I will try to make him worth the points :)

Go for it, dude. The list never wins 100% of the game, the player is a major part. More importantly, its fielding something cool that also makes it fun, and the Maw Krusha is awesome. I have one to that I will field at tomorrows 2k tournament.

I think that a lot of the time, way too much emphasis is put on playing the best list. At the end of the day, good decisions will make a bad list shine, whereas bad decisions make good lists flop. Only by playing, making mistakes and losing can you learn the limits of your list and units and grow as a general. By constantly attributing wins and losses to lists and match ups you will make sure that you never grow as a player. I think people need to be a bit more relaxed and try out lists that are not optimal, especially with the GH2 on the horizon.

Seconded.  Ironjawz players, more than most other players, need to understand target priority.  No I don't mean the old fashioned 40k rule, I mean understanding that some units are just straight up more dangerous than others.  On the face of it, this is simple, do I charge 20 skaven slaves or 20 Chaos Warriors with my 20 Ardboys, I charge the Warriors, I strike first, I probably win that fight and the slaves can be mopped up later.  But What if those slaves are in a position to take am objective next turn, winning my opponent the game?  What if I charge the warriors and my opponents can pile in with another unit, is that a good trade for me?  This is a concept much more important to Ironjawz players than other players because we don't have any in-faction ranged, so poor decisions come back to bite us later on, really really hard, and all of our guys are so expensive!  A 180 point brute squad out of position on turn 2 is unlikely to have much impact on the rest of the game!  They are slow, low in numbers and highly specialised!  This all factors in how Ironjawz play.

tl;dr: An Ironjawz 1000 point list is easy to build, 4x 180 + Megaboss + Ironfist.  Done.  How that list plays... A whole other story.

Not only that, but playing a list like that also makes me feel like I am a good player. A kunning Rukk Maxed out list, anybody can win games with that...

Game 1 VS Death

Enemy list was a Neferata + Mourngul list, I made a huge mistake on deployment and my krusha got charged by mourngul on the first turn, combining that mistake with a really horrible save roll, that is a 2 wound left mawkrusha on the first attack of the first turn of the first game, not the best start for a tournament.

After that start, all game was really hard for me and my brutes were unable to hit anything because of my poor positioning and the combined -3 hit that I got.

I knew my rival was going to play that list and hoped to avoid him, so this game result was pretty much expected.

Result: Major defeat
